My girlfriend and I went to Firestone because of their supposed reputation and dedication to service. In the past, we bought four brand new tires from them with an alignment, so they seemed to be a decent place to take cars. What we received in the end were excuses and a broken vehicle. After getting a full diagnostic inspection, we were told that fixing the brake pads and an outer tie rod would fix the immediate problems with her car. So the following weekend I took the car in and had the repair work done. After a couple hours, they said the repairs were finished. I went to go pick her up, but noticed the brakes were extremely soft going in excess of 30 miles per hour. I had to literally stand on the brakes to stop. After picking her up, we returned to the Firestone to ask them why the brakes were soft. They said the brakes were fine, but that they could take a look at it tomorrow because the shop was closing tonight. We called them back later, and the person at the front desk admitted the brakes were soft when they test drove it, and then tried to say we needed to bleed the brake line because of the fluid they added(which they were afraid to do because if THEY broke the brake line WE would have to pay for the new parts, not to mention youre not supposed to ADD brake fluid when changing the brakes), or get new brake rotors- something that did not come up on the full inspection sheet. They tried to pass the blame on a new person for not marking the rotors on the sheet and said we would have to pay around 70 bucks for each rotor. We were not standing for that; they eventually did the service for free. However, the brakes were still not the same as they were when we first brought the car in, but at this point they were functional. Fast-forward 45 days later, and the car plates need to be renewed. It passes emissions but not the safety because (SURPRISE!) the brakes are faulty. During the test they pulled to the right, and that caused it to fail. I thought to myself, how can you repair something 2 times and still not get it right? Needless to say, the frustration with the service at this point was at its peak; and then the worst happened. The control arm collapsed on the car, causing the wheel to pop off and shave the aluminum rim. Luckily for her, she went to get gas before hopping onto the highway so it stopped in the parking lot of a gas station. She called me crying due to all the stress the situation was causing. The tow truck guy came out (paid by Firestone) and took the car back to the shop. Now, when he looked at it, he said this happened because of the tie rods. Weve had a tie rod break on this car before, and what happens is the wheel pops out like it did here. Firestone initially said that the ball joint on the car was bad, and that it was the cause. However the extensive inspection didnt pick this up either. In fact, when we asked about the ball joint on the car, they said it was "just really tight, so it was squeaking" and that there was "no need for repair". Again, they eventually repaired the car for no charge. By this time, the problems with the car were so irritating that she actually went and financed a new car and traded the older one in. So when the repairs were finished, we took it straight to the dealership and it STILL didnt drive correctly. Im not going to go into the verbal jousting that went on in order to get some compensation for this series of debacles that went on, or the fact we only received our money back (about 600 bucks) minus the money for brand new tires paid separately on the car. What I will tell you is that the repair work at this station is worst than sub-par; its downright dangerous. I was glad to receive the money back, but more importantly is no one got hurt because of it. I will never enter another Firestone in my life after what happened here, and if you value your life youll go somewhere else as well.

I had the absolute worst experience trying to get my car fixed here, and would caution ANYONE from going here to get their car fixed again. I came in with a major oil leak, and was told that my valve cover gasket was the issue. Paid an already exorbitant amount to get it fixed/replaced and less than a week later, realized that the oil leak in my car had only gotten worse; in one weeks time it had practically drained. I went back in and talked to the same mechanic, who told me this often happens when you fix leaks as pressure builds up and another oil leak may become exacerbated, but still assured me that my car only seemed to be "dripping" a little bit of oil. I realized it would be a huge repair when they said it might be something behind the timing belt cover, and decided to go to one of my fathers mechanics that specializes in Japanese cars (I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for an honest mechanic). They confirmed what my father had already suspected - this Firestone completely ripped me off and the major oil leak had always come from behind my timing belt cover to begin with. Moreover, after taking this to yet another (3rd) mechanic, just to check the opinion, I found out that the valve cover gasket that they supposedly replaced in the first place, STILL had an oil leak. Basically, my car was never fixed and they totally ripped me off. Moreover, one of the women who worked there (Firestone) was VERY rude to me when I told her I was not able to pick up the phone during work to answer her call about my car being ready (I am a teacher... go figure, I think it is more important to teach my kids than to answer personal calls all day.) In short, I am never coming back here again and would recommend no one else ever go here.

I needed a simple safety inspection and emissions test. I made an appointment. There were no cars in the bay when I showed up 15 mins early to the appointment and they got my car in right away, or so they say. Almost an hour and a half later I was able to drive off. I was expecting to sit around for 45 mins or so, but I got to see most of Ghostbusters 2, which was on tv. Ive never had to wait close to that long for these inspections. Also when they removed the old inspection sticker they left all of the fragments they chipped away on the dash.. dont really understand why they didnt wipe it off. I guess that might have added 20 more minutes... then I could have actually finished the movie inside on tv, now I will never know how it ends. If I could add the picture I took of it I would.

Traveled to St. Louis for a weekend away with my daughter, while there my brakes started grinding really bad. I knew I didnt want to drive home with my car like that. I called other brake shops but they were all too concerned with leaving on time. I called here... and Dan agreed to stay to get them done along with Jeff, the technician. These guys were awesome. I was even prepared for a really high bill since they were staying late and they knew I was desperate to get brakes on my car before I left town, but they were fair and honest. Highly recommend going here if you are in need of auto service.
