ATTENTION LAS VEGAS RESIDENTS AND VISITORS: I am a former employee of City Athletic Club, and Jea Jung (owner). There is much to say about this gym, especially from my point of view (former General Manager). To start, this gym is operated on a skeleton budget. This creates a higher profit margin for the owner (Jea Jung), and a less-than-paid-for "experience" for the members. Note the lack of permanent lighting in Jeas office; a $10.00 lamp without a shade. This is an indicator, just as are chandeliers (low cost lighting). Note the substandard equipment (knock-off Hammer Strength machines), and Nautilus? Old stuff! Jea "acquires" his equipment by inviting owners of failing studios to train at City Athletic Club, and in return they turn over their equipment to Jea. One had to sue Jea in order to be treated fairly. Conde Nast has NEVER visited City Athletic Club, much less rated it. Jea uses this bogus rating (along with the British accent girl, hmmm?) knowing it wont be looked into or challenged. Check into it. Many members complain about cleanliness of locker rooms and showers. After my time as an employee, I continued to use this gym. For one week, one of the showers had the same two dead roaches on its floor. Thats a big deal. And, 2 of 4 of the toilets work at any given time. Jea Jung justifies his high prices with "theyre paying for the experience". What experience? A gym that closes, has only one location, has "budget" climate control, and shoddy equipment. Chandeliers and music video screens do not make anyone stronger, or look any better. As General Manager, I approached Jea about getting involved in charity/civic activities, i.e., March for Dimes and Susan Komen in particular. Jeas response was, " I am going to go to hell for this, but I dont want my gym involved in that stuff. I want a cool gym". Sure, some models promote themselves there, but does that make you any stronger, healthier, or better looking? Oh, and when you cancel your membership, you will be charged for about 3-5 months, afterward. Excuses will be given to you. And, refunds will NOT be given to you. They will claim that it is a "computer error". Its not. Oh, and note the "budget lighting" in the parking lot. Its dark. No lights. What do you think; girls? Beware of this business.

I joined the Gym about two years ago. Went to Crossfit really religiously. Was overall loving the experience. Great price for a huge gym with great classes. Had a month to month contract that I was very excited about. No hassles very simple... but it got complicated upon leaving. I hate to have to write a review like this but people need to be warned about what it is like to cancel your membership. It seems to be impossible. I ended my membership because I was moving to Europe for the year. I told the lady at the front desk and all was well. I stopped getting charged. But suddenly in September I start getting charged every two weeks. I am confused so I started to call. Mind you these calls are expensive because I am overseas. After 4 calls I finally get a call back. Nothing was happening so I finally called my credit card company to refute the charges. They did. I felt bad to have to do this but I had no other choice. Once again, I thought I was all done with this silly chapter. But recently I have been getting calls from a "Gym Collection Agency" which just about sends me over the edge. This needs to end. I have heard other people are having the same problem with ending memberships. I dont know what is going on over there. I like to think they are not sleezy people but this is absolutely outrageous.

I am not a member but wanted to know if anyone could tell me how they feel going here. I am by no means a fit guy I am going to lose the weight. I have done a year of FMMA and loved it heard there was a class here for that. My issue si I am just about 400lbs and only 56 I am going to lose weight I don’t care what others think but don’t want to feel uncomfortable. Plus my wife is coming with me she is 5 lil thing small waste and I am sorry I am a gentleman but she is here to work out and support me as well. She didn’t like getting hit on every single time we went into the gym. I am all about respect and the last person who did disrespect was a muscle meat head 6 guy who thought cause I was fat I couldn’t handle mine needless to say he winded up having his a$$ handed to him. I thus canceled my membership because after being nice to the terd 4 times the gym manager thought it was funny and provoked the fight. We are adult and just need to be just that an adult following and harassing someone is pure childish… We are there to work out and support each other I don’t need trainers staff or other member belittling me or trying to stick it to my wife. I like the looks of the place and it seems very warm... Just looking for a place we can call home for a long time...

My first visit to City Athletic Club was a few months ago with my trainer. The thing is I have not stopped thinking about this gym since I went. The facility itself is very well structured and clean. When entering the gym, I was welcomed with a genuine smile and greeting. While waiting for my trainer, I was checked up on to make sure that everything was okay. (Which honestly goes a long way in my book.) While working out, I couldnt help but notice the lighting. Lighting is very important to me while working out, no one wants it too bright or dark. City Athletic, to me, found the perfect balance of light. None of the fluorescent lights that give you a headache. I found myself entering the "zone" because of this lighting. Its almost as if you are the only one there working out. The members of this gym are nothing but kind, I was invited several times to join circuits while waiting to use certain machines. Moments like that dont happen at your average gym. Everyone here is passionate about their body and will honestly help you achieve your goals if you ask for a little advice. I recommend that you go to City Athletic Club and check out what I mean. You honestly wont want to go anywhere else.

I’m not a fan. The management is not helpful and felt like the gym has been going downhill for a while. They take too long to fix equipment that isn’t functioning but find time and money to buy pretty lights and decor. The pool/sauna/steam room area never felt clean and often had a rotten egg smell and only cleaned when requested (more than once). If you go at 5:00AM when it isnt busy it is ok because all the functioning equipment isn’t being used. Bring your headphones because the music NEVER changes as it’s on the same loop every day. If you want yoga I suggest sucking it up and going to Lifetime (like we did) because the monthly membership + yoga will (from what Ive been told) be more expensive than Lifetime but at least at LT its clean, functioning and staff goes out of the way to help. Not to mention the pool area is amazing and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Oh then when I canceled I was still charged the next month when on the written/signed cancelation agreement it clearly stated my last monthly auto payment and from what Ive heard this is VERY common.
