If I could give it 0 stars I would. Had a groupon and thought it would be a good deal. Worst decision ever!!! The salon was dirty (hair all over floor), it was the most awkward experience, and I received a total hack job on my hair. I came in while Philip was cutting another womans hair. They sat me down for a "consult" where Philip leaves his client comes over and asks what I want. I just wanted a simple bob with a SLIGHT a-line in the back. They wash my hair then when I get back to the chair, Philip leaves the other woman to come and cut my hair. He orders one of his employees to blow-dry the other womans hair. Philip showed no professional technique when cutting my hair. In fact it felt like he was just cutting random chunks of hair and putting on a show acting like he knew what he was doing. And he hardly spoke to me either. When he finished cutting my hair, he then orders the same girl to come back and blow-dry my hair so he can go back to the other client. His employee gave him a look and he says, "What, you too tired?!" It was so weird. I felt very sorry for the employee since Philip was being so rude to her. After my hair was dry he comes back to me (since the other lady left). The employee he was bossing around had clearly had it with Philip. So when he said he was done, my hair was completely uneven (the right side was longer then the left). I asked for it to be fixed, so he re-measures it and sure enough it is uneven. So he cuts more off the left, but cut way too much so it is still uneven. He never showed me the back of my hair either. By this time I had enough of the awkwardness and just wanted to get out. When I got home my husband saw my hair and noticed immediately how bad it was and when I looked into the mirror I was horrified!!! The back of my hair was way longer than the front (so much for a slight a-line) with large chunks of longer hair all over. And it was completely uneven! It looked like my 4 year old cut my hair! It was so bad that my husband had to cut some pieces in the back since it was so noticable. Now I can only wear my hair up now since it is so ugly (until I get it fixed at a different salon). I called Salon Charisma to complain and get it fixed. I asked for someone else to fix my hair since I didnt want Philip to touch my hair again. They told me if I wouldnt let Philip fix it then I wouldnt be happy with anyone else in their salon. I repeatedly asked for someone else, but they wouldnt let me get another stylist. So I asked for my money back and she told me I had to go through Groupon. I emailed groupon immediately and they have refunded my money (thankfully). They are now working on getting my tip back as well. It was the worst hair cut I have ever received and the most awkward expeirence I have ever been in. Save your money (and your hair) and go somewhere else!!!!

Ive always been one to judge a book by its cover up until recent years when I have made an honest effort to change that part about me. I am glad I have because had I previously pulled up to Salon Charisma, which is located in a somewhat run down commercial center on Sahara & Buffalo with vacancies surrounding it, I would have run for the hills. Luckily, I went inside, sat down, and got an AMAZING hair cut for $29. Earlier that day, I was at work and decided I needed a MAJOR change and found that this place was just down the street with a Groupon Now special of $29 for a haircut, deep condition, & blow out. I checked out the reviews and found that there were a couple negative ones that worried me but for the most part, people raved. When I walked in I was greeted immediately by a very friendly woman at the front desk. I had arrived a little early so I took a seat and waited. The front desk woman (I wish I knew her name) kept offering me a drink and magazines. When it was finally my time to consult with my stylist C.K., I was excited. I explained that I wanted to chop a good 4-5 inches off of my just-past-the-shoulder length hair and was toying with the idea of having bangs. She was beyond one of the nicest people I have ever met and she pointed out the positive features of my hair rather than lecturing me about the negatives (teasing, bleaching, dead ends, broken in places). She did suggest finishing the consult after I had been washed and conditioned. Once that was done, we decided on a short, stylish, even cut near my chin with a bang and so the cutting began. I felt so confident in her but about half way through my cut I decided I really shouldnt go through with the bang because I didnt want to have too much change all at once. Normally, this is something I would never speak up about and then walk out of the salon hating my new do but CK made me feel like she genuinely cared about how I felt about my hair after I left the salon and I spoke up. She could see the nerves written all over my face and assured me that she was so appreciative that I spoke up. Due to this change, she had to make some other changes to the way she had already cut my hair but kept reassuring me that I had made the right decision by speaking up. Once the cut was done, she blew it out and I absolutely LOVED it. I couldnt ask for a better cut! I was so happy that I gave her a big hug right before I left! One negative thing.... Im a bit of frugal person so I dont know that Ill be able to go back for regular price cuts but it was SO good, I might just be able to justify it. =)

Salon Charisma is organized, clean, friendly and extremely professional. Mr. Philip Amodei is creative and imaginative as well as genius, in all things hair and fashion. It has only been a short while since I had my hair cut by him but the cuts that I received were nothing short of amazing. It was the best cut that I have probably ever had. The dyes he does are also superb. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wanted a cut tailored to your desire. My friend came with me and could not get over how awesome my cut was. Everyone was really nice, and I didnt find anyone at all pretentious. In fact we all had very nice conversation during the entire process. My cut was great, and Philip was great about education. I really ask a lot of questions, and they were all answered without making me feel silly. The cut itself was perfection, even though it was minimal, but a lot of people commented on how great it looked. Ive finally found a salon I can trust!

It has been more than a year to go have my hair cut by Philip. I am so glad that he finally opened his new salon, which is very comfortable space, bright, and fashionable! It is always amazing to see his performance. He knows how to make people beautiful, sexy, or whatever you want to be like. I will definitely continue to go his salon. They also have professional, well-trained specialists in particular areas. I strongly recommend you to visit them once, and I am sure you would like it:)
