Absolutely do not spend your money with this company. I called this company to have get a quote for a backflow prevention device installed. Dave never called me back, I had to call back to follow up, then told me he would have someone out on monday or tuesday, then he moved that to thursday. He called me to tell me that they would be moving to appointment to friday. I had a landscaper coming on friday to finish my install, and explained that would not work. I then got home thursday night and found the install completed with the all of the insulation that they removed still down. I recieved a bill for 2 hours after I drilled the hole for the pipe etc. With the hole drilled and everything prepped a 1.5 hour max job. They ran 20 feet of pex and soldered/mounted a backflow and charged for me 2 hours. Beyond unimpressed with the customer service and billing. Do not waste your time or money with this company. -Brandon Deane After reading the owners response you can undersand what im talking about with this company. The issues at hand were A) your staff did NOT call me when they said they would. I had to call your staff to follow up, this should be UNACCEPTABLE as an owner. B) the AMOUNT of labor that I was charged for a job that was not finished properly NOT the rate. C) You charged me two full hours for a job that should have taken 1.5 AND did not even put the insulation back from where YOUR staff took it down, thus not COMPLETING a job that you overbilled me for in the first place.

When we built the house, we had Martel do our complete plumbing and heating job. We have 3 bathrooms (one with both a whirlpool tub and separate shower), radiant floor heating, several outdoor faucets, and a few other complications. They were always courteous, responsive, and performed well. Later on, we did modifications to one of the bathrooms and added a kitchen sink to the basement. Again, they did excellent work. Often, the work was not simple. For example, the basement bathroom required running a pipe under the house footer (about 3 feet deep), and they did a good job digging the holes and trenches, running the pipes to the septic tank and so on. The whirlpool bath was in a corner where is was EXTREMELY difficult to do the plumbing for all the little fixtures, yet they came up with solutions and were successful. We have had them work on my mother-in-laws house, both plumbing problems and heating issues. They were always professional and did good work. My only complaint, and it is a very minor one, is that sometimes they get so busy, they have a hard time fitting me in. Even then, they usually go above and beyond in squeezing me in to their busy schedule. So, why dont I give them 5-stars? I never give out 5-stars except for complete perfection, and while they are quite excellent, they arent perfect. Bottom line, I have and will continue to recommend (and use) Martel for plumbing and heating.

They were hired by our dead-beat general contractor (who has since been fired). He said he had never worked with this contractor before, and he had reservations about working with him, but when he saw there were elderly people there in residence, he felt bad for the homeowner (he had never met us) and decided to do the plumbing work. When I called to check in on the status of the work he had arranged with the GC(since fired), I let Ed know we wanted to make sure they were paid and that we wanted to continue working with them and give our contact and payment information, (and explain the situation with the contractor), Ed was very understanding, made his concerns known about the work done prior to his company, had suggestions going forward and even offered to make some calls to reputable contractors to help us hire good people. They have a great reputation with the town hall and others that weve recently spoken to. Hes the plumber we will call for all needs from here on out!

Martel sent two men at $90 an hour to replace two washers in our bathtub and repack the tub controls. They did not replace the washers and charged us over $300 for their visit. They called me much later after I had sent them an e-mail and said that there had been a mistake in billing and that they would correct the leaking faucets and revise the bill. They did come and replace the two washers , After some discussion with Dave at Martel he stated that the bill was not correct and that they would refund the entire payment I had made which they did. I am more than satisfied with their response...

Beyond disappointed with the level of service. Martels came out to fix our tankless water heater. Had to order a part. We have been living with luke warm water for over a month. They will not return our phone calls to replace the part the supposedly order. My husband actually got the response that our number is on the managers desk to call... We wanted to replace our water heater. They said they could fix it by order 1 part. We are now looking for another vendor.

Quoted me $6,000 for an easy half bath rough plumbing. I felt this was vastly excessive and told them so, just to be harassed by myriad calls to my phone which I, of course, did not answer. Just to give yall an idea of the other estimates I have received: $2,000 and less. Also, when Ed came, he kept pressing me to do a full bath. I cant remember exactly how many times I told him "no". My husband and I will most certainly NOT be using this company.

I havent been billed yet, but they were the only plumber who not only answered the phone but came the next morning. Got here at time they said they would, the job was bigger than his allotted time but he stayed and did a great job. He did write price of hourly rate and as long as the parts are not sky high, we are very happy with the work. The guy was friendly, helpful and did a fantastic job. I would recommend to friends any day. :)

Got an hourly rate over the phone which seemed really high but I was in a pinch. Then I got the bill and the rate was DOUBLE because there were 2 men on the job, eventhough 1 could have easily handled it. So I cannot recommend spending $250 an hour for anything, especially some simple heating of a frozen pipe. Ive learned my lesson the hard way.

I must say after reading the reviews I thought I would get great service as well. That was NOT the case. Ed never would return my calls or follow as he said he would. Then goes on vacation after telling me he would call me right back. I have been with out a boiler for 2 weeks now. I would not use Martel ever again.

I use these guys for both work (plumbing) and at my home (plumbing and heating). From the receptionist to the service manager to the technicians, they are excellent. Dave, Jeff and Ed have always made me feel like I am their only customer. Kudos.

I called them and they show up in half an hour. Fast service. If you need your heating system working right, you know whom will you call. Very happy customer!
