Black Friday special my butt!! These guys are shysters! My Husband and I went over to these guys first thing in the morning before they opened. We were the first people there. No people waiting. We get a quote for the Sumitomo all season tire special for buy two get two free including an alignment. We ask how long it will take and the guy said about an hour and a half and I quote "shouldnt take too long we dont have a ton of people busting down the door". The guy suggest we go get our other car so we have something to do while we wait. Drove back home which was a 25 minute drive. After we got our other vehicle, we gave him our number and the guy said he would call when they were done. We went out and 2 hours later we never get a call. So we head back and they are literally just putting my car on the lift and there is a guy ahead of us. Remember, we were the first people. So we walk in and they are already in the process of removing my old tires (watching through the window) and the guy comes out to us with a really cheap tire and says, and I quote "Sumitomo, No... But we have Sailun, decent tire, decent tire!!" The guy got pretty pushy.... Well we were not happy at this point and that was obvious... Well, the guy changed his tune real fast when he saw my husband was reading his mail and clearly unhappy... The guy then came back out to us and said they can have the originally discussed tires shipped from Scarborough, ME and they should be in and done by the end of the day... So we said okay! We went home AGAIN, sat down, about 40 minutes pass, decided we dont trust these guys, and went back to get our car. New tires or not, we were fed up and wanted to cancel the whole thing! We get there and our car is no where to be found! We ask the guy and he got really nervous. He said it was in the back probably. We started to wonder how that was possible because we took the one good tire I had with us before we left that place. (so they didnt do anything with it. We didnt trust these guys for some reason.. Hmmmm). Anyway, so the original guy that we first worked with came out right as my husband was saying we want to cancel, and jumped in the convo and blurted out, "its done!" Hmmmmm really interesting right!?! That was FAST! Shipped in from ME that fast!!?? The guy then proceeds to tell us this story how he had to borrow the Sumitomo tires from another tire shop up the road and he had to buy them from a lady that had already ordered them! Ha, THIS GUY!!!! I kid you not, this is all a true story, I cant make this crap up! They had the freakn tires the whole time!!! Shysters! Yeah they tried to pull a fast one. Needless to say never again. My husband was just taking advantage of the Black Friday deal. He is capable of doing this all himself and just wanted to pay for the convenience factor. He will continue doing our vehicle work himself as he has before. This experience has only gone to further his opinion on shops after giving them yet another try. Some people are scum bags man.. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS CRAPPY PLACE. TRUST THE REVIEWS HERE. THIS NUMBER OF POOR REVIEWS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! Wish I had googled them before we left the house. Unbelievable!

I get great service....yes, they want to upsell....that is their job, but if you say no to all the extra non essential stuff....you still get a good mechanic and a decent price. If you think they try to upsell....take your vehicle to a car dealership....then you dont have to worry about the upsell because they have charged you the price for the one thing you wanted done, and took all your money for any upsell you would have needed! They do good work is my number one requirement. Manager and employees shoot straight.....they will suggest you do wipers and cabin filter(almost always)....just say no if you dont want it. I have had a tire do a 1000 dollars damage to my car when another shop only bolted 2 lug nuts on my tire and it came loose.....all kinds of problems, then try to get them to take responsibility even though it was 2 days? Anyhow....just know what your car needs to have done....check local prices.....you will be surprised. They use quality if you ask for it, and they do good work.....I know it can be annoying to be told you need this or that....but does your car need this or that? Have you done the air filter in 50,000 miles? Dont go in there with your breaks squeeking, and tires all out of alignment either......and definitely dont go there to get a vehicle inspection unless your vehicle is in decent shape.....otherwise you will get a laundry list, and you have to fix it! You may not have to fix it there, but you have to fix it and take it back to get your inspection if you dont fix it there! I recommend them.....and I worked as a car salesman for a long time....so I know BS when I hear it, and who couldnt use new wiper blades or air filter most of the time? I have been using this store for 9 years.....and they have at least 2 of the same mechanics, and the same GM. What does that say? The only reason I dont give 5 stars is due to price.....and I do see the upselling.....but they are required to do it....if the cost was less, and they didnt upsell.....well they would get 6 stars. Its more like 4 1/2 anyway......but based on the poor people leaving 1s I upgraded my 4 star to a 5....they are not anywhere near a 1 or 2.....I understand people have bad experiences....and those people are the ones most likely to make a point and leave a mean review because the big bad car mechanic store took all their money even though they hadnt been to a mechanic with that car in 4 years. Really....take I take all the 1 ratings with a grain of salt as they are 10 times more likely to read a review.....for every one star there are 10 that would have left a positive 4 or 5.

Run, dont walk from this location. Blew a tire on a pothole and dropped by to have them replace the tire. They said they could do it and would call to let me know when it was done. Estimate was 2-3 hours. They called 2 hours later to tell me I needed a laundry list of items: cabin filter, wipers, fluid changes, etc. (I maintain my cars meticulously, so I know this is just an upsell shtick.) They also told me that my car should have a special engine treatment to deal with the ethanol and they could do this for $150. Im capable of pouring $12 worth of top end cleaner in my car, so I politely declined, but told them they could change the wipers and air filter. After the very a long song and dance about a recent ethanol seminar he had attended, and all the extra work they wanted to sell me, I then asked about the tire. The service writer sounded completely stumped. I reminded him that I brought the car in for a blown tire, to which he replied, "Oh, yeah...I dunno. Let me go talk to the mechanic." 6-7 minutes later he returned to tell me they would need the car for the rest of the day. 15 minutes before they closed I hadnt heard from them and called to ask the status. They said they had been unable to get the tire, and wouldnt be able to for 3 days. I ran down to pick it up and then returned it 3 days later for the replacement. When I picked it up there was no for the wipers and filter because theyd forgotten to do them. Frightening level of incompetency. Its too bad Sullivan tire is letting these service writers destroy all trust. I wouldnt trust the work would be done right, and I wouldnt trust them to tell me when work is truly needed. Oh well, on to the next shop.
