Wow, who did Google-User deal with? Normally my friend doesnt bring his Subaru to the dealers, but...I was with him when he brought the car in to disable the door key alarm system -- kept going off at weird times. He was presented, after an hour, with a run-down of 9 or more items that needed fixing immediately-- including brakes, pads (worn to a sliver) and stuff, cv joint boots broken, brake fluid leaking, other scary sounding stuff-- none of these things had anything to do with the faulty alarm system! But, calipers, hoses, belts: all faulty, all in immediate need of replacement. In bold letters, rect said "unsafe to drive. Do not attempt to drive." Funny thing was, February being my friends birth month, the car had been inspected at a garage only 2 days earlier. And passed. The tri-city manager guy kind of dithered and fussed when we told him this, then said the inspection must have been horribly faulty. Said car was a death trap. Then he was told my friend had bought the car only two months ago (private sale), and had an inspection at that time by a third garage, when it also passed. Then he kind of sighed, rolled his eyes and was like, hey, its your car, your life..." like we were fools, cheap-skate dare-devil idiots.. Oh yeah, another thing, all those leaks? "you can see dribbling out". Astonished! No fluids of any kind have been observed beneath the car after being parked in the same spot every day. It is hard to hear ones car is a death trap. But, with two inspections in 2 months that passed easily at two separate, well-known garages, it is hard to believe. I want to think tri-city would only have the customers best interests in mind. Seems not. Still, they have me all spooked and worried. And--why were they looking at the brakes and other things, when only asked to disarm a faulty door alarm? I told my friend he should ask for a reduction in the hourly charge, since they spent so much un-asked, un-wanted time nosing about the vehicles innards. He wouldnt, though.

Im currently driving my 3rd Forester from Tri-City Subaru. I dont have problems with my car, other than the usual wear and tear. The service is personable and friendly, and I know they will try to do a good job. However, Ive recently found that they try to go for the jugular when it comes to service. I had a pretty new set of tires (6 mos. old) and hit a nail that was near the sidewall of one tire. I know you cant just buy one new tire, especially if theres any unusual wear on them. They told me I needed 4 new tires because of that one nail. They said they couldnt fix it. I brought the car to someone else, and they fixed it. Subaru never even TRIED to fix it. They assumed Id buy 4 new tires on the spot when the ones I have (still have 6 months later) are fine with that one tire repair. Another time I had a big job done that cost over $400.00. They had sent me a coupon for $100.00 off a service job that was over a certain price. I printed out the coupon, but then couldnt find it when I went to pay for the job. They said theyd search for the email/coupon offer, but never did. They have these offers all the time, but they wont tell you about them when its time to pay for it. So, the car is great, I love it, but you have to have the service at a reasonable cost in order to keep customers coming back and trusting you! Oh, every time I go in for an oil change or something, I get a different story about my brakes. Sometimes I have 45% left, the next time I have 75% left, then its about 50%...all over the map. I had my front brakes done last spring, and suddenly theyve worn down to 25%?? The brakes that came with the car didnt wear down until 95,000 miles!! That tells you something about the brake job they did last spring, right?

Awesome experience throughout the entire process. I went into the dealer already knowing which vehicle I wanted. A beautiful 2013 Impreza with super low miles and a great price. My salesman Matt Dugal was fantastic. He was super patient, friendly, and accommodating. Even when I started to second guess my choice and thought that maybe a Forrester might be the way to go,he said that would be fine and he would just set the Impreza aside so it didnt get sold out from under me. So we went online through the inventory (which is large) and he finally suggested that I test drive one. I agreed. He looked around for the keys to the vehicle but apparently it had been used as a loaner. During the time he was looking for the keys, I decided I truly wanted the Impreza. I felt bad that I sent him looking for the keys when I had made my decision so I was happy when he said that it wasnt available. I had gotten an online approval with a lender with a rather high interest rate and showed Matt my approval, he suggested that we check the other lenders they use just in case. I agreed but inside was thinking was likely a waste of time. Imagine how pleased I was when the interest rate came back 4% less from a different lender! Robert, the person who handled the financials with me was just as pleasant. In all, the entire experience was unlike any car-buying experience Ive had before. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

I come to this Subaru dealership after having dealings with three others, and by far, hands down, this is the best of them. I love Subaru, their products, and their efforts in standing for positivity in their work and their lives in general, but not all dealerships are equal; certainly some not worthy of the name. Tri-City has thus far proven to be worthy of the Subaru brand, and I will continue to work with them to make good on the failings of two others. The dealership where I bought my 06 Legacy GT Wagon sold me the car with a pretty fully blown engine, BSd me up and down to the point where I was drafting a business-destroying letter to corporate. Before sending it, an acquaintance who owns a different dealership (close friend of the owner of the other dealership) told me he would simply replace the engine, and that it would be covered by Subaru corporate. WHAT A RELIEF! Right? Well, no. They said one thing, and they did another. No new engine, just some new parts, and thats that. The engine is now failing again, and Tri-City is up to the challenge; saving the Subaru name from the likes of scummy dealerships. My first Legacy GT saw 282,000 miles, and I sincerely hope that Tri-City can help me get this one there, and beyond! PS Shout out to Clyde Board, who has gone above and beyond a number of times. Joey as well. The people here, their attitudes towards customers, thats something that will stand out to you immediately. PPS SUE ROCKS! :)

Id previously been a Toyota RAV 4 enthusiast and owned one for 10 years. That all changed when I drove the new 2017 Outback. All I can say is WOW! I had to buy one! My sales associate Mike Arthur was amazing. We started by looking at the Legacy, then the Outback. He took the time to go on TWO test drives with me, went over all of the features of both vehicles and really knew his stuff. I had been to other dealerships in the area (including Exeter Audi and Portsmouth Kia) and left disappointed- I had to ASK the salespeople to tell me about the features. They did not seem enthusiastic about selling me a car, and as a result I did not want to give them my business. Tri City was refreshing. Mike was courteous and kind, and took the time to ask ME questions in addition to patiently answering all of mine. He helped locate the exact color combination and features that I wanted. Its pretty clear that Mike loves his job, knows his stuff, and understands what people are looking for in a car-buying experience. Tri-City, you are lucky to have him working for you. Your finance guy was great too- very thorough and organized. Ill be sure to recommend Mike and your great team to ALL of my friends who might be interested in buying a Subaru. I absolutely love my new car and cant say enough good things about this positive buying experience.
