Unit maintenance is poor. Weather stripping was practically non-existent. It was never replaced after asking several times for it to done and, eventually, debris was blown into the unit landing on many of my items—some of which were difficult to remove, such as books. Rather than admitting her own neglect as a property manager, she blamed it on the cleanup crew—who used a leaf blower to do their job. I asked if the units are routinely checked for any issues, such as the weather stripping hanging off which she claimed isnt visible looking from the outside. Though this statement is partially correct it is just as much incorrect since you arent able to see as much of the stripping when it is intact, but you can definitely tell when its hanging off—and Ive noticed quite a few, though not many as bad as mine which was shredded and in very poor condition. And just for the record, it was in this condition when we first rented the unit in June of 2016 and we were told it would be fixed. My question is why was it not fixed BEFORE renting it? As I said, it was shredded and as a property manager it should have not even been rented in that condition. We reported it many times but were never told we were supposed to have given the office a copy of our key in order for it to be done until 10 months later—again placing the blame where it doesnt belong! The key was given to them mid-April of this year, a claim was entered into the "system" to have it replaced and we were informed it could take—at most—2 weeks to complete; however, around the 2 week mark it still was not done and when I asked about it, she now informs me that the "vendor" hasnt been out yet and she doesnt know when the "vendor" will be out because the "vendor" just shows up without notice. So why did she tell me it would take—at most—2 weeks to be done? Giving them the benefit of doubt I wait another 2 weeks and it still isnt complete. As the end of May approaches and the "vendor" still hasnt come Im ready to move out—we were planning to downsize our 10 x 20 unit anyway—and as much as it would have been easier to relocate to a unit on their premise, I chose to abort altogether and find a cheaper one elsewhere—BTW although the contract states there will be a price increase after 6 months, it doesnt state how much of an increase and ours went up $35, so you may want to ask about it before you sign the contract agreement. So, when we inform them we are moving out and request our key be returned they inform us that the "vendor" will be out in 2 days to replace the weather stripping and that we will need to bring the key back—Ha, yeah right! Well that wasnt happening. Shame on them for being so lackadaisical. We canceled our contract to end in June and I found a much cheaper place—though further away than I would have preferred. Mini-U-Storage is a great alternative and the property manager is a husband and wife team who are pleasant and told me they would just fix the weather stripping themselves if it needed to be done. When I asked about the price increase she said it would increase after 6 months but it would be no more than 10%.

I was moving operations for my business from NJ to FL. My NJ lease was ending at the end of the year, on December 31. FL not ready until March. I deal with perishable items so timing was key, as I had to sell all inventory out of warehouse before moving. Last sales occurred on morning of December 31. I reserved a unit online the morning of December 31, knowing I was meeting the buyers at the warehouse at 8:30am and 9am, respectively, that morning to sell last items and packing rest of stuff, i.e., files, tables, computers, etc. after they left. I called Public Storage after buyers left to confirm my unit. They confirmed it and I started cleaning the warehouse and packing the U-Haul cargo van. I showed up at 5:30pm, a half-hour before they closed (6pm) with the U-Haul cargo van fully loaded. I walked through the door and the young lady at the desk asked if I was "Steve" with a smile. I said yes. All the paperwork was prepared. Courtney and Kaitlyn carefully and fully explained all details to me, showed me the unit, and offered me a lock and key (a low cost and totally worth the convenience to me). I was out of there within an hour, with plenty of time to go home and get ready for my New Years Eve dinner reservation with my wife and kids. I have no idea if/when I will ever need a storage unit again. If I do, there is no doubt in my mind that if I ever do, I will be sure to rent a unit at this Public Storage! Thank you Courtney and Kaitlyn for making my life so much easier during such a stressful and rushed time moving business operations on New Years Eve!!!

They asked me to write a review, which I do appreciate. I felt the service was very good, with attentive and friendly staff overall. However, about 3-4 months after moving in, Public Storage increased the price of my 5 x 10 unit by 20-30 dollars per month. When this happened I did some research and discovered other customers with the same complaint. It seems to be a part of the business model. So if you decide to go with Public Storage, keep that in mind. (-1 star). Another issue I had was with climate control. I kept furniture, books, clothes and kitchen items in the unit for about 12 months. The furniture did not show any obvious damage, but the pages of my books are now mostly crinkled as if they have been dunked in water and dried. (-1 star). Lastly, I had moths. The moths put holes in clothing that was stored in large sealed tubberwares. So keep that in mind as well, and plan to purchase some cedar balls or repellent. Unfortunately, I figured this out too late (-1 star).

I went to this store recently to get some information on a place to put my stuff. I had no idea what I was doing but feel so much better after speaking with Ashley and getting details on how to pack my stuff. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the business. She did not have what met my needs but was able to get me to another place that met my needs and was within my price range (thank you for trying to save me money! No one does that!) I will not be ready to rent for a few weeks but I will be coming either here or the store on 70 with her husband Brian! Thank you both for all your help! I will be in for those boxes!

I have to be honest when I say I was dreading going to get a storage unit. Ive had bad experiences in the past with different storage facilities, but I had no choice: I needed one. It wasnt long after I walked in that that my dread and worries vanished. First, I found the staff to be (Tom, Mike, Ashley) very courteous and helpful. They were easy to talk to, and were able to answer the questions I had. Second, the prices were reasonable and the unit is just what I needed! Pretty plain and simple. No strings attached. Third, its just at a really convenient location for me. Which made moving in that much easier.
