Dont go there. Dont go there. Dont go there. My car had shaking problem and P0302 and P0420 codes occasionally. I went to the Meineke store located at 1836 Lincold highway, Edison, NJ 08817 to have it checked. I had good experience with Meineke when I was in Kentucky. I left my car the morning on April 11th. At noon they called me they were going to charge me $300 to fix the problem. I said OK. When I went back at 6 PM that day, I was told the car was not fixed yet and was asked to call the next day. So I called the next day from morning to evening and got the answer "they are waiting a part". On the third day, I received a call in the afternoon and was told the car had been fixed. The manager came to my apartment to pick me up. When I got to the store, the manager showed me the bill of $1100. They told me what they had changed and how hard they got the old Engine Control Module (ECM). I argued with him about not being told the high cost before they changed so many parts. The store changed 3 ignition coils and did a tune-up, and they also changed the ECM because they claimed the original one was bad. They didnt tell me they would charge me $1100 for the fix. Finally, I had to pay to get my car back. The manager told me the engine light WAS still on and it should be off after 200 mile driving in order to make the ECM familiar with the car. if not, the dealer can reprogram the ECM and remove the codes. And I believed. So after several hundred miles driving, the engine light was still on. The original codes P0302 and P0420 dissappear temporarily, but three new codes appeared which were P1148, P0132 and P0031. I went to the store again, and the mechanic told me the oxygen sensors were bad and they would charge me more than $500 to fix it. I didnt believe them any more because they couldnt guarantee the codes would be removed and no new codes came out. Several days later (05/07/2012), I went to the Nissan dealership. After two-hour checking, a mechanic told me the ECM Meineke put in was a wrong model (different models for California and 50-state emission cars). There are no communications between oxygen sensors and the ECM. The mechanic at Nissan Dealership also told me the original ECM may not be bad. Then I went back to Meineke store and was told the original ECM was discarded and they cant do anything. I left a message for the manager and he has never called me so far. In summary, my car still had some kind of shaking (less), and new engine light codes were caused by Meineke. On the other hand, after their work on my car, the gas mileage was reduced from 28 mpg to 20 mpg. I was charged $1100, but problems not solved and new problems emerged . Update: I went to another Nissan dealer and they came to the same conclusion: wrong model of the ECM, which was from a 2004 Nissan Sentra with 50-state emission. My car has California emission. I checked used ECM on Internet. It costs around $100, but I was charged $300 plus labor. The old ECM was destroyed during Meinekes diagnosis. I drove my car there, which means the ECM worked at least. But after Meinekes tune-up, the car didnt ignite. Thats why they changed the ECM on my car. Finally, it seems that Meineke on Lincoln hwy and Meineke on Woodbridge Ave are owned by the same person.

Pathetic customer service..the person on the front desk was very rude to say the least. I went there recently after I was facing some issue with the brakes of my corolla. He examined the brakes of my car and gave me a hefty estimate of $500. I responded that I need some time to think after which he immediately lowered down the estimate to $390 and pushed me to get it repaired ASAP otherwise my brakes can catch fire (really??) I denied and said I still need some time to think. He then went on and said he is wasting his time with me. I was frustrated and annoyed at his behavior. I asked him promptly to get my car out and will think about the repair work. He very rudely turned to his worker and told him to get the damn car out. Meineke staff if you are listening, you need to get that person on line otherwise you are losing on business.

I took for my car for a check up as I suspected it had an exhaust leak. I assume the mechanic took my car to the garage to inspect it but he brought it back in about 3 minutes. He claimed by muffler was "completely broken" and I needed a new one as well as a new tail pipe, which would all cost nearly $350. When I told him I would need to think about it, he immediately told me that he could give me a discount but I would need to schedule an appointment right then and there. I brought the car to the Meineke in Piscataway and the mechanic brought me in to the garage and showed me exactly where the leak was and what needed to be done: a small section of the pipe was rusted and he only needed to cut that piece out and replace it. Total cost= $65.

Brought my 00 Sebring in just for the free break inspection on a Saturday not expecting to get anything done since It would probably be busy on a Saturday and wasnt sure what kind of quote they would offer. After all was said and done, they told me exactly what I needed and after my go ahead got to work right away and finished in about an hour and a half... on a Saturday and even topped off my power steering fluid when the noticed it was low at no charge. The price for brake pads and rotors was more than reasonable. Definitely will go back for anything that my car needs.

Came to this location 3 various times for the same problem that obviously they couldnt fix the first time. Each time I came, they only had one mechanic to service all the vehicles. I am actually writing this review while waiting at this place now for parts to arrive. They told at 9am that it would be 15minutes before they arrrived. It is literally 3 hours later and NOTHING! So much for coming in early to get out early. Do not come to this location!!!

Went in because of the half off brake pads promo. They said that I needed to get my rotars replaced, but I said no. This apparently voids the special offer. They proceeded to remove my pads, and after the job is done, he tells me the problem is actually the rear brake lines and itll cost 300 or more to fix. I left at this point. Couldnt trust these people.

I work for a Toyota dealership..so needless to say, I am somewhat familar with the car servicing process and standards to offer great customer experience. I really cant believe that a meineke owner would not honor a meineke coupon from the meineke website. Its a simple gesture that helps keep business going. Honor your brands coupons.

The big guy at the front desk was very very rude. He probably is diluting Meinekes reputation. These guys take an hour and half for oil change and a not so complicated 23 pt inspection, then come up with hefty quotes. I wish Id seen the ratings before going there. One star is for the technician who wasnt rude, at least.
