Upon entering the gym I was taken back by the odor of sweat and dirt. The equipment is very old and beat up and the floor mat does not look like it was ever cleaned and it is probably 10 years old. The front desk lady was nice, however it was soon apparent after talking with the few parents that were there that this a "extra thing" for their kid to do and it was "close". If you are looking to get involved in the sport of gymnastics, dont waste your time going here as there are other gyms that offer a lot more in the way of equipment and coaching abilities (I did my homework on that too). According to one of the parents during my visit, Garden State is a revolving door as the "good ones" dont stay and the very few that do it is only out of convenience and the fact that they are not going to pursue advancement. It does not seem to me that it is a professional gymnastics school and I would be afraid that my daughter would be exposed to various health risks due to the cleanliness and run down equipment. I was hoping to find something close, but will travel to find a better establishment.

For starters when you walk in the place smells like dirty feet. At times the toilet is not flushed. Garbage is over flowing. The owner actually eats pizza while coaching in front of the kids. Plus no water provided and most recently no chalk for the kids
