My laptop would not boot up or turn on. I took it to Best Buy to have the Geek Squad take a look, within 3 minutes the Geek Squad Tech told me my motherboard was done and there really wasnt anything I could do and that it wouldnt be worth replacing. My brother in law who is also a computer tech told me to take it to Affordable Computer as he has had experience there before. I was greeted by "Steve" who seemed friendly and knowledgable. He told me it could be the "on/off" button on the laptop. Advised me it would be $175 just for him to open it up and take a look, however after talking for a while he got the price down to $126 and if the power button was not the issue, the $126 would go towards a "reconditioned" laptop he would sell me. The next day Steve called to advise me it was in fact the motherboard and told me the "reconditioned" laptop would be another $300 making it total $426. I went to the store to order the "reconditioned" laptop, however before the order I asked Steve for the model # to the "reconditioned" Acer laptop. After stalling for some time he gave me the model #. Before ordering I went home, did some research, and come to find out the laptop he was trying to sell me was last years model and could be bought at Sears or on Amazon for $350 BRAND NEW, NOT "reconditioned". So basicaly Steve was trying to sell me a used, reconditioned, older Acer laptop 4G RAM 500G Dual Core Hard Drive, 15.6 screen for $426. The next day I went back to Best Buy and bought a Toshiba 4G RAM 650G i3 17.1 screen, for $450 brand new. Bottom line is, these guys are NOT Affordable. Im all about supporting local business, but not when they try to screw me over by selling me a cheap used laptop for $25 less than a newer, better one. I would never recommend them, and will never go back.

Beware, this guy is a thief. I brought my computer in because it wouldnt boot up. There was an error message that he claimed meant that I had to replace my hard drive, which would have cost me $289 for him to install. He even suggested that I just simply buy a new computer from him (of course) for $450. He then suggested that I leave my computer there until I can decide which way I should go. But I knew better. I brought it back home and tried to fix it myself. As it turns out, all I had to do was to select advance options (which Im sure he knew about but wouldnt tell me) and then select "reset". My computer re-installed Windows 10 successfully and left all my apps still available to me. Im sure he knew there was a cheap and easy fix, but he wanted me to spend hundreds of dollars anyway. Warning, keep away from this crook.

Do NOT believe the bad reviews that appear on this site, which were probably written by the competition as a last-ditch effort to steal business. I was desperate after Hurricane Irene, when my township still didnt have electricity 3 days into the week, and went over to Affordable Computer Repair for assistance. Steve & Ernie were more than gracious and accommodating, and I am forever grateful to them for that! I also had some questions about my newly purchased laptop (which they did a spotless job transferring everything from my old clunker PC desktop) -- Ernie has the patience of a saint, is a real pro, and talks to non-geek techies like me, with ease, humor, and respect. I love this place! Support your local businesses, because theyre good guys, who know their stuff. Thanks for everything, you guys rock!! Tina

Excellent experience with them. I was recommended to them by a co-worker who had their laptop fixed there. Came in and dealt with Ernie after having spoken to him on the phone. He was honest and took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my laptop in great detail. I purchased a laptop from him and couldnt be happier with it or the service. I have dealt with Geek Squad and two other computer shops in the area, and this was my best experience so far. I know where to go now for all my computer needs.

I have been going to A.C.R. since their inception and trust these gentlemen with all of my tech trouble. I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to computers, but I always leave A.C.R. feeling as though Ive learned volumes more. The men who work in this shop are artisans, plain and simple. Ernie has gotten me out of more jams than I can count and the service here never breaks the bank. I recommend them to anyone with computer issues. Dont call Geek Squad, go to A.C.R!

I have had great experience here with Ernie and Matt. They are very accomodating and sensitive to the importance of the data they are dealing with. Highly recommended for local businesses. They treat you great and get to work on your computer right away. Sent a friend over there to get her PC fixed and called ahead of time to let them know. They were very nice and got to work on it right away. Thanks guys.

Awesome customer service. Very pleasant and easy going young man. Helped me reprogram my laptop and save all my documents and pictures. I wanted to know how the process was done and he patiently explained as I kept interrupting to ask questions of things I didnt understand and he didnt make me feel dumb about it. All around awesomeness. And the name fits well AFFORDABLE Computer Repair.

Friendly service, very quick and affordable. I brought my mac in because it crashed at the end of me writing a five page term paper. They were able to recover my documents and they got rid of viruses that I didnt even know I had and installed anti virus software. Computer has been working great since. I will be going here for all my future computer repair needs.

Big mistake bringing my laptop here. Their "Save & Restore" service did not save everything - leading to a loss of years of important project records. Two days later, we are still cleaning up the mess, with lots more to work to be done. We will not be going back, ever. This is a NO STAR rating - should not even be one.

I walked in expecting a problem much larger than I actually had, but that doesnt change the fact that I walked in with an unusable laptop and walked out with a functional one in less than five minutes. On top of it all, it was very inexpensive and the staff was very friendly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I am a return customer. PC was running slow to the point of frustrating. I brought it in to Ernie, and as always, took care of it in two days for me. System ran nice and fast and he even took the time to clean out all the dust in the back. Another five star repair. Thank you!
