I have a 7 year old who has "graduated" from the Yellow Brick Road baby, toddler and pre-school (known to many affectionately over the years as "YBR") and a 4 year old who is currently splitting her busy days between YBR and Irving School. I also have older nephews who went through YBR years ago. Grace owned the School for many years and Sandy was a Director. Grace retired and Sandi has been the owner for a while now. The transition was beyond smooth, as Sandi continues to bring her positive energy to YBR. She is a caring, hard working, attentive, aware soul, a caring and kind person. We can never take for granted dropping a child off for the day at a day care facility, and I never have. Ive been and remain totally and completely comfortable with Sandi, Grace, and every employee at YBR. I am an Attorney in New Brunswick NJ, and live in Highland Park, and they have been fantastic over the years with caring for my kids and communication. Every member of the staff - I would invite to my home or absolutely trust as a sitter for my child. My kids are both doing very well, fortunately, with school and age appropriate activities. Having spent the majority of their week days at YBR, I have to thank YBR for their intellectual and emotional progress. As my baby soon also graduates I can say we will miss the YBR experience. Along with my children, there are decades of kids whose friendships were forged at YBR. It really is a unique and wonderful part of the experience. As for us, we still have Birthdays, game nights, play dates, and summer cook outs with the crew of YBR parents, including Rutgers professors and locals, even as some of the kids have moved or are in different schools. YBR cultivates positive interaction between children that yield long lasting friendships. If your looking for a day care, YBR is a fine, long established, proven good choice.

My 3 year old son had never been in a "school setting" or daycare prior to attending Yellow Brick Road. He was getting bored at the babysitters house and needed more stimulation and socialization. After having another baby I decided to enroll him here. It was the BEST decision! He now sings songs, knows his ABCs, and always comes home with different facts he learned at school. Even his behavior has improved! Miss Sandy, Miss Veena, and all the staff are wonderful and compassionate. They made my son feel very comfortable in a new atmosphere and he now looks forward to going 3 days a week. He will soon be attending our local public pre-school and I am so grateful for his time spent at Yellow Brick Road! To be honest, I wish he could stay here longer. I chose this daycare because its close to my job, but its totally worth the 45 minute commute everyday. Wish I could move them closer to my house in north Jersey! Thank you for everything :)

My son was attending another day care, and every morning was a huge ordeal to get him dressed and into the car. He would cry and say "I dont want to go to school!" When wed get there, hed resist every step toward the door, and then beg us not to leave him. It was heartbreaking. We started looking for a new place, local and more comfortable for him. When we found Yellow Brick Road, we knew it was going to be the right place for him. Miss Sandi and the other teachers at Yellow Brick Road are amazing! The environment they have fostered is warm, nurturing and comfortable. Weve been at Yellow Brick Road for a month now, and I cant get over the change in my sons personality. Hes like a whole new kid. Hes happier at home, hes eager to go to school (in fact, I stopped to chat with another parent outside and he kept pulling my arm saying "Mommy! Lets go!") Im so glad we found Yellow Brick Road!

My son was one of the first children at the Infant & Toddler Center when it opened in 2007. I had some concerns about sending him to daycare because he was a preemie; Sandi, then director of the Infant Center, absolutely put my mind at ease and every member of the staff was loving, attentive, and responsible. He flourished under their care and at the YBR preschool, from which he graduated four years later. Over that time the YBR community became an extended family: my son made lasting friends, his friends parents became my friends, and the staff have been the only babysitters weve used on evenings out. I didnt think twice about enrolling my daughter there when she came along, and she too loves her caregivers and is making friends and flourishing like her brother. Sandi, now heading both schools, has carried Graces mantle beautifully. Couldnt recommend YBR more highly.

Yellow Brick Road has been like a home away from home for both of our boys, now ages 3 and 8. I wish I could have stayed home with them when they were younger, but unfortunately, it wasnt an option for us. We needed full time care for them when they were each only 12 weeks old. As Im sure you can imagine, choosing a daycare facility for an infant was not a decision we took lightly. Im confident we made the best choice possible with Miss Sandi and her loving staff. My son looks forward to going to preschool every day! He especially loves Miss Vena and Miss Angela. He talks about them as if they were family. Being a working parent is hard, but thanks to the caring environment at Yellow Brick Road, my husband an I have one less thing to worry about every week.

My daughter is going to YBR since February this year. We had brought her from India just then. Both I and my husband are working so we needed a daycare for her. She was just two years old and wouldn’t understand and speak English which made the situation more difficult. Hence we needed a facility where she could get special care and attention. Obviously, we wanted to choose the best. We chose YBR based on the reviews we read online and the good things we heard about it. I can happily proclaim that they have met our expectation, even beyond that. I get amazed looking at the progress my daughter have made in few months. I would like to thank Ms. Sandy and her staff. They are wonderful. Keep up the good work.

Yellow Brick Road, led by Miss Sandy, is full of kindness. When we relocated to Highland Park from Australia we hoped that our daughter would settle-in and enjoy going to pre-school in the USA. From day 1, our daughter loved the school and now after 2 years still pulls me out the door of our house to go each day. Our daughter has not only enjoyed herself but has learned a bunch of new things too...it is always nice when you realize that you didnt teach her that fact/song/dance and she has learned something great from going to school. We are now planning on sending our 3 month old to the nursery at Yellow Brick Road. I recommend YBR to anyone looking for a pre-school in the Highland Park area.

We had three kids attend YBR between 2008 and 2013. Our daughter started in the "baby house," which Sandi ran at the time, and our sons began as "munchkins." YBR has always been a warm and inviting place. It has been a lifesaver on days schools are closed and we had to be at work. The staff is wonderful and does all sorts of creative projects and prepares kids well for the fundamentals of Kindergarten. When we moved to Highland Park and knew nobody, this was the place that made us feel part of the community. The kids really become part of a larger family there. Thanks to YBR, we have developed a circle of friends with kids the same age. Im sad our kids have outgrown the place. I miss it.
