They will give an estimate and then charge you 3 to 4 times after working on it. They will give you one timeline and then deliver the car after 1 week later than what they initially promised. They will tell you car will work just fine after recommended fixes. Dont be surprised to hear there are more fixes. Bottom line - cheats at the highest level. Background story: They gave me estimate of $1200 transmission work and they werent sure if that will fix the problem and it could cost few hundred more. I was told nothing can be certain until they remove transmission and examine. I told them if its 1200 its fine with me much beyond that its not worth it because car is old. Then I gave a okay on the phone to work on it. They kept on pushing away fixing the car! They didnt fix the car in 3 days as initially promised when I left the car. Excuse was they were too busy to work on it and some shortage of man power. Finally I get a call back from them after 1 week saying the problem was bigger than initially anticipated so it will cost me $3600 for the fix. I told them its not worth for me to get it fixed at that cost so I like take the car back. I was told since they opened up the car, I have to pay them $800 for opening and putting back the car. I even told them they dont have to put it back but they insisted its they policy to put it back before giving the car back. Been in lot of stressed I agreed for $3600 fix. After I came back home, some of the issues of slipping gear and funny noises were still there. I asked them to fix it properly as workmanship supposed to be under warranty. They took car for test drive and told me those issues are not related. I personally think they didnt fix it properly. Even if its not related problem, why would anyone give me half fixed car back instead of notifying me of further problems? I was talking to old family friend of mine who was in bodybuilding business for 20 years. He told me whole thing is unprofessional and unethical. They shouldnt even have worked on the car without getting my written consent and without providing a proper quotation on the paper. To be honest, I should have sued them for trying to con me but then i knew very little about how things should be.

Phone interviewer posted a snippet of my reponse to her questions on Aamcos webpage, but I wish she had posted more of it (and spelled "moneys" correctly ;) ) - I have nothing but great things to say about these guys and their work. From the first time my wife and I went there several years ago, they have always given excellent value for the money. No, theyre not the cheapest in town, but theyre also not the priciest - and, more importantly, they WORK for every single dollar. If something is expensive, theres always a solid, necessary reason for it, not "upgrading" as many mechanic shops do. And their advice is honest, above-board and full-disclosure: if you have options, they tell you exactly what those are, what each one entails, what each one costs, the pluses and minuses of each, etc. And their advice in that area has never failed. I couldnt possibly recommend any business more than I recommend these guys. Matthew, Peter, everyone, youre the best. - Richard S. (no idea why Google made me "Bob"!)

I had a great experience at AAMCO! At first I was stressed about having to repair the transmission on my Honda Civic. After speaking with the staff, I was immediately sure I had come to the right place. They are honest, pleasant to deal with, and were right up front about every detail of the work. They truely know their business. Beyond that, they know how to treat people and work hard to make sure youre at ease. I cant recommend this particular AAMCO office enough! They repaired my car quickly and efficiently. My car runs great and I havent had to go back for any issues. I will now bring my car to them for every repair going forward. I truely appreciate a company who values their customers and people in general so much. Two major thumbs up!!

I recently took my Van to this establishment to get a Lifetime Transmission Power Flush, they flush out all of the old transmission fluid even the fluid contained in the converter and replace it with the correct transmission fluid for your vehicle for around $140.00. This is a very professional and very organized business. I have had experience with this business for around three years now and have always found them to be very honest and forthright in their dealings with me. I would strongly recommend this firm. I went to them after having a very poor experience with another Aamco business in Hackensack, and have always returned to them even though there a little further away. But their professionalism is well worth the extra drive.

let me tell you something if you know noting about cars do some research on your car see if you can fix the problem if not then go for help. If you dont care about putting a lot a money for a job you not really granted the it even fixed them problem com here. Yeah they are nice and all to make you feel like you can trust them but the take a lot of money from you. Lets say your headlamp went out aamco will be like" $20 for the lamp labor is $2000." Just an example of who you are working with. Just educate your self and it will help.Oh lastly if you have a car that seem to everyone that its expensive but it really not aamco will drain you dry of money.

I had my transmission repaired here last month on my 2001 Volvo S60. I have to say I hardly ever write reviews but in the case I had to. I was treated very professionally and was constantly kept up with the progress of my repair. I was very happy with the out come and was a little surprised when I picked up my car the tail lights that were out was repaired at no additional charge. I know transmission to replace cost lots of money, but this was done on their own and free of charge. It was just the way they do business. Peter was the go to guy and made this whole process a pleasant. I highly recommend them.

I rate my overall experience at Lyndhurst Aamco a 10 out of 10 for the following: hands down the cleanest shop I have ever entered anywhere, and the owner Matthew and the manager Pete are honest, knowledgable and super friendly. The owner offered to take me 30 minutes out of his way to make sure I made an important meeting while my car was being repaired. Who does that these days? I live 40 minutes away and still take all of my families cars to the Lyndhurst Aamco because they actually understand what customer service means and how to fix cars right the first time.

I brought my car into AAMCO because the air conditioning wasnt working. They completed a free diagnostic and was able to find the problem. When the part came in that needed to be fixed, I returned to AAMCO and they fixed my car very quickly. The price was very reasonable and three months later, my car is running perfectly. My family uses this specifc AAMCO for all of our car problems. I find the service great, employees friendly, and prices reasonable. I definitely recommend this AAMCO over any other place I have been to for my car.
