As a former gym employee and gym member, the WoW of Shrewsbury isnt bad. I workout at peak times (weekday evening rush 5-7pm) so of course its going to be busy! stop complaining or go at 6am instead. (weekends are empty too) Lots of equipment choices, but the ones that are broken (including water fountains) stay broken for weeks, sometimes months. I never ran into dirty equipment, I wipe before and after I use a machine or bench and cloth doesnt turn solid black. Front desk is what you expect, people on their phones or chatting. Trainers are hawks but also very friendly. As of this writing, cancelling isnt that hard, just expect to have to pay for next months fees. Verdict: 3/5 Stars, no complains from me, but also nothing amazing compared to other gym chains..

Rarely comment but the current rating and reviews I dont see as fair and therefore adding an additional opinion. This is an excellent traditional weight and circuit training gym. In addition, plenty of traditional cardio equipment to boot. Equipment is plentiful and when you take into account price this place is an exceptional value. Ive been training for 20 years and lived in all parts of Jersey and i and you will never get so much bang for your buck than at WOW. I cant comment on more progressive training instructor led classes as i don participate- but the fact they even offer t ihem for the monthly dues is more than anyone should suspecy I cant comment

The staff at the front desk are extremely rude and unhelpful. The membership managers also rush you into signing a contract so they can get commission and do not explain the ramifications of cancelling a membership or what the conditions of personal training are. They do not care about your health and wellness, but only care about increasing membership for the location. Also the machines NEVER get fixed. During my short membership this year of 3 months, I noticed that two of the cardio machines never got fixed, despite the notice on the machine saying new parts were "on their way".

If i could give this place negative stars i would, RUN dont walk, away from this gym as fast as you can- customer service is nonexistent, the staff hang out and talk all day or fool around on the computer, machines dirty, if they break forget it it will be months before they are fixed - one time my location didnt have water in the machine for months becasue it was "fighting with the company" - and if you want to freeze or cancel forget it you cna only reach them by email that they never respond to and keep charging you DON"T JOIN !!

I have been a member for about 1.5 years. On the plus side the staff is helpful and usually willing to resolve any major issues. The negative is that management of the gym is almost non-existent with all major decisions handled by corporate. This means that repairs to the building are often done in lunch hours (11-1 )and its not uncommon to walk into the building to be greeted with the smell of "fume-free" (their words not mine) paint. Why they cant do that work when the gym is closed is a mystery to me as this is not a 24 hour gym.

Gym building could use some updates. The layout is bizarre and many times your workout is interrupted by trying to drag equipment from one side of the gym to the other side. The logical organization could be improved. There is a good selection of equipment but some of it is fairly old. The other 4 Work Out Word locations I have been to are much nicer.

Terrible customer service. Their sales people will basically say anything to get a sale and wont help you when you find out they were wrong. Cannot speak to anyone in customer service. Its all through email and they are not helpful. WoW is willing to ruin its reputation and mistreat its customers in order to keep getting your monthly dues.

Annoyed!!.....As a college student i froze my account when i studied out of state..then i get a call from my dad saying that i have a "collections letter "for this gym ..wow work out unfroze my account without giving me notification..THNK ALOT WOW! i used to love going there.but am cancelling my membership when i get back to new jersey

Forced by a collection agency to pay a couple hundred dollars because my wife "didnt quit properly". (She quit because a lot of equipment wasnt working). Telling them in person doesnt work. Then they sent me an advertisement asking me to rejoin. LOL. Everybody in this area has a horror story about this place.

They put in this artificial turf in snd took over rest of the gym.The Stairmastesrs are always out of service and it takes a long time to fix.The front desk staff is unfriendly and unprofessional.All the kettle balls in the gym are in the Personal training studio.

Terrible customer service!!! The only way you can speak to someone about your account is if you log in to the website and give your number for them to call you. Except that even if you do, they dont call, and often the website doesnt work! Horrible company.

My favorite two areas of the gym is the free weight area and the cardio theater. The free weight area has an edgy feel to it, makes it seem like you are in a hard core gym. The cardio theater looks like an old fashioned movie theater on the outside!

good gym but what I hate the most is being lied to by the staff. they tell you what you want to hear then say sorry we didnt say that like they didnt even talk to you the day before.

Customer service sucks, nobody can help you with billing. Nobody phone to call corporate. Equipment is always broken. Dont join unless you have in writing a OUT!!
