Sleaziest repair shop Ive ever been to. I took a Buick here when I had a transmission fluid drip, mentioning also that the shifting felt a little hard - not in a bad way but just to see if they had an opinion on it. They were not busy, which I thought was lucky but now perhaps not. They told me the leak was motor oil and would require a minimum 10 hours of labor just to find the source. Now I knew instantly this was a lie. First, Id already checked the drip and seen that its red. Second, the oil change shop Id been to the previous day told me I had a trans fluid leak. (And the eventual repair at another shop was the Transmission Return Line, 2.1 hours of labor.) I balked and gave him a chance to correct, but he insisted it was engine oil. So I knew that was a lie, but I didnt understand why. I mean, if youre going to lie, why not at least lie about the transmission and claim its that? But he kept talking. "Also," he said, "that hard shifting is the computer correcting for slippage. It WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION without a transmission rebuild." Whether or not I would benefit from a rebuild (which Ill say outright that I didnt need), it passed inspection with no problem a few days later. So thats another blatant lie for another expensive, unneeded repair. As if that wasnt bad enough, when I mentioned the car was under warranty from a previous at another Aamco, he started backtracking as if hed have given me another answer and accusing me of wasting his time. Maybe theres a legitimate reason to give different answers to people based on whos paying, but I sure dont know it. Ive been driving used cars for 20 years, and Im sure Ive used over a dozen different shops across NJ. None of them left me feeling half as disgusted as these guys did. Im left wondering if all Aamcos are dirty or just this one. But this is just inexcusable. To anyone new to the area and looking for a trustworthy mechanic, I recommend 1) Meineke of Bricktown or 2) Dennis Service Station, both a bit farther north on the same road. Dont go to Aamco of Toms River. Just dont.

They had my truck for 12 days to rebuild my transmission. After I picked it up, the o/d light came on and it said check transmission. Bring it back, 3 more days and supposedly a test drive(1/4 tank of gas missing) and I pick it up again, low and behold, 10 minutes into the drive, same lights. 15 days of rentals and counting and still not fixed. What a shame that a place that "specializes" in transmission repair cant fix a transmission. Im going to wind up taking them to court for all the rental time after the initial Trans rebuild as well as lost wages and hassle. *update - bring it back again, and....wait for it...they tell me that they cant find an issue and "sometimes the transmission lights just go on after a rebuild" and that "as long as the engine light isnt on, Im fine"... DONT EVER GO HERE! Go to meineke in Brick. Cheaper and they wont half ass your repair or lose your keys. Brought my truck there to follow up after these guys and they finished the job by clearing the computer for free.

My favorite part of my experience with Aamco of Tomsriver is that I called on a Sunday and the owner Kash whom is the new manager because they are now under new management had actually answered the phone. I cant even get my doctor to call me back on a Saturday, never mind Sunday. Kash then explained to me that they also offer a key drop box to allow me to drop my vehicle off for a first thing Monday diagnosis. Then he even told me that I will not be charged for the mechanic to look at it and call me when he discovers what the problem may be. This is how every garage should be run. I never felt more satisfied by an automotive repair shop before. Im very happy with the mechanic "John" who gave me a very honest diagnosis and repair plan, everything was right on with the estimates. I would recommend Aamco to everyone that needs an honest repair and they offer financing too. Thanks again for doing what it takes to get me back on the road again Aamco of Tomsriver.

I just want to share my experience that I had with AAMCO. I called on Sunday in regards to having a leak of anti-freeze knowing that they were closed but I was looking to leave a message. But instead Kash the new owner had the business phone linked to his cell and he called me back. On a Sunday, wow I was surprised and he helped me with my issue and even had me drop off the truck that night so that he could have someone check out my vehicle first thing in the morning. Kash and his team are there for their customers. I have used AAMCO in the past under the old ownership, but I must say that the new owner is their for the people. This is the second time in the past two months I have used them for work on my car and I truly recommend them to others. They are very pleasant and friendly, they work with you and your needs and their prices were fair as well.

After I left my review this morning, I was contacted by maddy personally, and he was determined to change my views on the aamoco service I received . He assured me that he would do everything in his power to make me a satisfied customer. I must apologize, because I had no idea he wasnt in charge of this branch at the time I came there, but for him to reach out to fix the problems is highly respectable. With that being said, I will give them another shot, and commend maddy on the great customer service. Its not everyday you get somebody thats really concerned with the customers issues, and does his best to right the wrongs. Much appreciated. Update: we have come to a fair agreement. Maddy is now on my good terms list. Thanks for working with me to correct the issues presented.

I wish I could give zero stars. I took my car to Aamco because my father got a discount through his place of business. I had them do the free diagnostic test to see what was wrong and so I could have an idea of what I was going to spend. They told me the problems and gave me a ridiculous price so I kindly left. I checked around all of shops locally to my house and every shop was charging AT LEAST 50% LESS!! they were trying to get a 50-75% profit on parts and they quoted me 3 hours of service for an hours worth of work. BUT THATS NOT ALL! I take my car to a mechanic that Ive delt with before and he tells me that what AAMCO said was wrong with my car, WAS NOT THE PROBLEM! Really!? NEVER EVER EVER TRUST AAMCO IN TOMS RIVER... THEYRE LIARS AND RIP-OFFS!

When I brought my truck in, they were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They would tell me of any additional problems they found, and ask first before proceeding to fix something. Additionally, they provided me with a free tow, as long as I still let them look at my truck. I would totally recommend these guys for car repairs!!!! The best thing about this Aamco is that they do have payment plan option which is interest free .Store Manager Maddy helped with 4 different Banks to get me approve for whole repair and I didnt have to pay any single dim for repair. The 0 % interest rate financing for 1 year is best. they helped me a lot with financing and with repair. they are the best. New management is awesomee.
