An employee named John in this branch was awful. His manner for customer services is unacceptable, as 1) he shipped my international express parcel to a wrong floor of my apartment although the right floor was CERTAINLY and EXPLICITLY written on the invoice of the parcel, 2) he said he gave me a first notice from his "mercy" using his private phone -but USPS website clearly states that theyre gonna call receivers when they missed a package, and I didnt ask him to use his private phone or whatever, 3) when I called back him, he said, although USPS only can hold an international express mail for five days, he could ship 6th day, but actually he shipped it back to the senders country on 4th day (it was 5th day morning when I called back due to the weekend so apparently he did not understand the situation at all and lied around as if he knew what was going on), 4) he hung up my call three times while we were still talking and eventually blocked my phone number (it turned out because he answered my call when I called him back with my Skype), 5) I was out of the town from 2nd day already so asked him to redeliver to another city where I was at the moment, then he said its impossible -but actually it was POSSIBLE, as I was told by a branch in the city and they called to this 31st street branch literally in front of me to confirm (then the fact that he already sent my parcel back on 4th day was revealed at that time) and 6) his chosen words were very insulting and arrogant, which were obviously not appropriate for a person engaging in customer services. Luckily, the official post office of the senders country felt empathy to my situation and sent the parcel again FOR FREE so I didnt lose any money, aka it just ended up at USPS losing money for sending the parcel back to the senders country and shipping it to my place again. It helped me to feel good.

CONTINUAL PROBLEMS DUE TO SHEER LAZINESS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES. I rarely write reviews, but Ive now had multiple issues with this post office. Their website says my package has been "Delivered" at 4:05pm, for my guaranteed 2-day delivery. I got home less than 10 minutes later and found nothing. There is NO SLIP on my door noting theyll attempt redelivery tomorrow, or to have me pick it up at the post office, nothing. I went to the post office to ask about it. First, they blamed ME and said to check with my neighbors (which I had already done). Already irritating. Obviously I did that first, or why would I be here? Then they looked for the package, didnt find it, and told me I need to come back and check tomorrow. WHAT. This is ridiculous. Why would your tracking records list the package as "delivered" when it WASNT?? And when it isnt delivered, why wouldnt you leave a slip with direction of what I need to do next?? So not only did they put false information into their records AND were too lazy to leave a pink slip, but ALSO if I hadnt shown up at the post office to ask about it, I never would have known they werent even going to bother to redeliver it the next day!! They werent even planning on communicating that to me! And this kind of crap has happened more than once now. This is your JOB. Do you know what would solve a lot of the confusion here? How we could avoid these mistakes altogether? By you ACTUALLY DOING YOUR JOB. Alright now listen: I work in customer service, and I know it can suck, so Im pretty forgiving - a mistake here or there, ok, no problem, were human. But this goes beyond human error. This post office messes things up CONSTANTLY, and the more it happens, the more it is apparent that its due to SHEER LAZINESS. That is INEXCUSABLE.

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. I was supposed to get a package last week but apparently there was no secure place to leave it even though they have left plenty of similar packages outside my apartment building. I received a pink slip and left it signed on my mailbox (and also sent in a redelivery request online). The pink slip disappeared and I have now sent in 2 redelivery requests which both have been ignored. I have repeatedly tried to call during business hours and the phone number isnt working. According to a supervisor from the customer service phone number some post offices change their numbers and dont tell the public. WTF?!?! How does a federal run facility get away with being so unprofessional???? If you can avoid it do NOT work with this post office unless you dont mind waiting for weeks for a package. UPDATE: Got my original package but now the same thing is happening again. I managed to get through on the phone and the clerk found my package on a random shelf and informed me I should have received a phone call saying that my redelivery request for Friday was unsuccessful because they couldnt locate the package. What is wrong with this station?!?!

A terrible post office. Ordered my Iphone and never appeared. The website said its delivered. Then I went to the Post office and asked them where I signed that I received my package and they said signing was not necessary. This pissed me off and then i yelled at them saying if you tell me to sign the paper even when the package have regular pens that I ordered, then for iphone you are telling me its not necessary. When they asked the delivery guy he said he delivered outside the door. I told them you kidding me, how could you left my iphone 6 outside my front building door, so that whoever came can take it? Then I checked my house camera, nothing was there. No delivery guy, no package and I asked my neighbors who came just after the time they were telling me about the package delivery. The Guy was a thief and I called T- mobile, told them about this mess and asked them to talk to the post-office staff because they are theives. Finally after two week mess, I got my Iphone 6. Then, The post office staff called me to ensure I got the delivery and when they asked me about the reason behind the mess, I gave them a list of it.

I honestly can say that this Post Office isnt only the worst Ive ever encountered, but perhaps the worst functional establishment Ive ever encountered. I know the entire staff on a first name basis. Ideally, I dont need to know anybody who works at my post office. However, After living 2 years in Astoria without a door man, I have encountered travesties which I didnt think were possible with our postal system. Ive made 7...yes SEVEN sets of my apartment keys for whomever is our mail carrier. I have been scolded by Denise, because I complained that she put me on hold at 4:40 on a Friday, only to hang up the call at 5PM (AKA CLOSING TIME). Meanwhile I called because Eddie/Edwin told me a package was personally being delivered. And wasnt. I have had nothing but time consuming, gut wrenching experiences with this joke of a post office. And, Im not surprised...every human being in the area I speak to agrees.
