The wait time can be very long on some days. Depending on who serves you at the window, you will either have a good experience, or a horrible experience. Recently, I had to ship a laptop to a friend. Already sealed up the box and only need to ship it. In the past in another post office, they usually give me a big sticker to write the address on, so I waited for the window and was expecting to get the sticker. The asian lady that served me was very rude. She saw theres no address on the box, then started saying "how do you ship this with no address on it?"..."yes there is a pen right there, use to write the address on the box", and so on. While I turned my back and started to walk to the pen feeling like an idiot, she kept saying a bunch of sentences, none of which were audible to me at this point. I observed her interaction with the next person, who was asking about some package he sent earlier in the day, and she was berating him about "how do I know which label it is?"... "there are so many labels that come through here everyday"... On the other hand, there is a black lady that is very experienced with post office operations (I sent stuff at her window a few times in the past). I dont know her name, but the receipt says shes clerk #36. It was a relief to get to her window after queuing up again. She took the box, verified my address, helped me figure out the shipping options. The best part about her is that she added tape to the box to make sure it was sealed. In the past she fixed the smudgy ink on my envelope by putting a clear piece of tape over it. Basically, good customer service (no attitude), and pays attention to detail. So, this is why this place gets 3 stars. It gets crowded at times so take off at least 1 star for that, but its the post office so nothing surprising here. Take off 1 star for the rude employees who yell at people. Three stars for the sometimes nice clerk that helps you out.

I can not begin to explain my disdain for the USPS here in NYC. This is the third post office I have changed to within 4 months and I still have issues with every piece of mail that comes through. When I say all mail, I mean literally every piece of mail from letters to boxes and crates. Not to mention the seemingly endless span of a language barrier between customers and the employees. Its like the employees there either do not speak English at all or take cruel pleasure in feigning the complete lack of understanding with customers. This post office shares a similar flaw from my previous one, the un-imaginably extreme caliber of negligence and ignorance in maintaining proper P.O. Box management. Not only do I continue to receive other individuals mail in my P.O. Box, but it seems near impossible to actually receive my own. This means I basically paid $50 to receive Ms. Diana Verges and whomever elses mail I have begun to ignore and simply return to the post office. Avoid this and any USPS office if you live in Queens, NY. Its better to save yourself both time and hassle by utilizing other businesses (like UPS, FedEx, etc..) and setting up a pick up at one of their local stores. I cant tell you how many of my priority, insured mail has been misplaced or outright lost. Avoid the hell mouth on (USPS) earth and bring your business to any place else. Sincerely, An extremely unsatisfied and suffering customer

I feel bad for any poor souls that steps in to collect their "missed" packages. My postman NEVER rings my bell and drops those god forsaken orange slips. The worse part is they mess with you on where you packages actually is. I went to 2 different addresses, and was finally directed to this one, and this is the worst out of he bunch! 3 people ahead of me was there to pick up but never got their packages. Each time you can hear the excuses repeat, this awfully rude chinese staff will just pretend to walk to the back and then come back with some stupid reason that your package is somewhere else, or you cant pick it up because your full name doesnt match the packages addressee. And when it came my turn, she used the same exact reason, but I made sure she walked again to check. She finally threaten to call the cops on me before I decided to give up. At this point, its BEYOND my worth to even bother with the package. Never walking back in here ever again! And Im writing a complain about her. I really wish that lady loses her job. Literally the most miserable place on earth!

They have been stealing our packages for two years. I saw it on WABC Eyewitness News last night at 11:03 PM. We used to complaint a lot about this, but we did not know they will go this far, judging by the defensive and aggressive way they deal with clients we should have known better. Each time they claim they came and we were not home, it was a lie. The police arrested the criminal, but I am concerned about the rest of the team/criminals who still works there and were his accomplice, and were not arrested for lack of evidence. Your experience in that place will be bad, they wont steal your packages for now I guess, they will wait a while until they start stealing again. If you want a safe job were you can get away with everything, you should apply there, or run for state senator.

Its usually a hit-or-miss with the workers here. One is really nice (I think she was known as Clerk #36 in another review), while the other comes off as kinda hostile. I usually have a high tolerance for peoples attitudes, so Im giving her the benefit of the doubt. She does have a bias towards people who speak Cantonese, as she treated the person in front of me more respectfully/amicably after finding that he spoke it. My family also speaks Cantonese, so I can understand what shes saying, but because English is my better language, I was treated a little more harshly. Language barrier isnt a valid excuse when you work in an extremely diverse area, and its common courtesy to treat people with kindness, especially when they arent even being mean to you.

This post office doesnt deserve such a low rating (1.4 at the time of my review). Ive visited this office probably hundreds of times over the years -- mostly to drop off eBay packages -- and Ive never really run into any problems that would warrant a 1-star review. Treat the multi-lingual postal workers with respect, follow directions, and you wont have a problem. My only gripe about this PO is that sometimes the door for package drop-off is randomly locked so you instead have to wait in line for up to 20 minutes. Also, during the holidays, the drop-off door is almost always locked because of cheapskates blatantly lying about their gift packages weights trying to get away with underpaying for postage.

I was going to rate higher (4) but the woman working there just now pissed me off with lack of professionalism. No smile on her face, not helpful whatsoever. I told her I needed my envelopes and certified and she only marked it as priority and I told her I needed it certified then she just looks at me with a blank look on her face saying I need to fill something out and shouldnt even bother to tell me where the form was her which formed even though I knew what it was. NO HELP. No thanks The guy that was working on the floor was extremely helpful to everyone and very friendly excellent customer service by him
