I seriously shouldve checked the reviews before I called. Carries a very big "what do you want/I dont care" attitude. Apathy is not the way to start a business conversation. It started with me calling for a price to have a key (that i supplied)cut. I was Googling locksmiths near where I work and although little far, still give this one a shot. Answered the phone like I called him on a Sunday afternoon and told me that he cant tell me how much a cut is over the phone. Fine. Curtly told me he gets back to the shop at noon. Called him at 25 after and said "hi Im just seeing if you got back and if youd like to take a look at the keys". Literally.."yea" and hung up the phone. Against my better judgement, I still decided to visit the shop. I walked in, he eventually made it to the counter, and immediately told me that this PLAIN DOUBLE CUT BRASS KEY would be $15 each cut. I had two keys. As I reflexed my hand out to ask for it back, he said that there wouldnt be anybody else to cut it or charge less if they do. I Basically said thats a load of bullsh!t and walked out. Let me tell you what happened next. I Googled locksmiths again, took an 8 minute drive, and had the keys cut FOR FREE. he told me hed call the police if I left money on the counter! Thats how business is done!

I locked myself out of my car 5 minutes away from their business and called about getting it unlocked. When I asked for the price he said "$99 plus tax". I admit I was shocked on the phone and whoever was on the phone (male voice) rudely commented back "Well what price did you think it was going to be?". He even commented that my location was extremely close to his business, yet wanted more than $60 just to come look at my car. I said I would call him back and he, again, got defensive and condescending questioning me and insisting that he was only available at that moment. Im glad I went to the mechanic down the street (Specialty Automotive Care) who charged me $25 and were extremely helpful. Getting locked out of your car is frustrating, and calling Rhodes and being talked down too certainly did not make the situation better.

Recently called the shop to ask about a key replacement for my 1997 Nissan Altima. Asked for a quote and was given an outrageous price of up to $300 to make a new key. Other shops gave me quotes of $150-180. When I told the man who answered that I was just comparing prices between locksmiths and looking for the best deal, he seemed to get angry and told me "well if you want to know just come in" and abruptly hung up on me before I was done asking questions and getting information. Guy was a total jerk on the phone. Will not be doing business with him for sure.

Rhodes Lock has always given me great customer service. Anytime I need new locks or keys replaced; Mitch recommends the most reliable line of products for my situation. I feel comfortable knowing that the locksmith shop has been open over 20 years. I highly recommend them for.

They charge way too much for their locks. I got ripped off. I pay four times the amount for one of their desk locks. He told me it was 30$ and I looked online. the same company lock was $7.50. Dont buy anything from them. Dont make the mistake I did.

Mitch is awesome. He took the time to explain the details of getting the remote garage door open. Remote didnt work and homeowner lost the key. Thank you !! Susan Irwin, Century 21 American Homes

Expertise and experience at a reasonable price. I would have spent an an extra $80 plus my labor if I went the Home Depot route.
