Im writing this review on behalf of one of their employees I spoke with. Its a shame for a company to have great reviews and for me to consider them for my move get ruined by my experience today. I called to get a quote and spoke to Donna, when she picked up the phone I could already sense that she was either having a bad day or was just bothered. I let it go since we all have bad days and proceeded to answer her questions about my move and her tone of voice was still not pleasant. However, what made things worse was when I stated I was moving from NY to Miami she immediately cut me off and said they didnt go there. But she continued to ask me how many bedrooms I was moving, then I asked her wait a sec you just stated you dont go there and she said we are going to refer you to someone else. Then she continued to asked about how many bedrooms I was moving and I stopped her again to ask her what was the name of the company she was going to refer me to and she got upset huffed and puffed and hung up the phone. The lack of professionalism from her was a surprise. I just wanted to know who the company was because I wanted to check their reviews etc, when moving especially if its your first major move to another state you want to feel comfortable with the people who you are trusting all your items, furniture and entire household. Im sorry if she was too annoyed to answer a simple question. This gave me a bad taste about the company and I refuse to use them and will advise all my family members and friends to stay away from them as well. Thanks for your great customer service Donna you just lost your company my revenue and potential revenue from others. I will look for another company that gives a damn and dont treat their clients this way...Beware!

The worst experience ever. The workers were unreliable, rude, unprofessional. I told them that I had to move four rooms of furniture and they sent three guy that were slow, lazy and clueless with a truck that could hold only one room of furniture. They had no moving materials, nothing to wrap the furniture with to prevent damages. After I complained they brought some covers for the furniture. They then decided to take only the big furniture that could fit and promised to bring a bigger truck the following day at 3.p.m. for the rest of the items. After waiting at least two hour l decided to call the company to be told they were still on their first job from this morning and she cannot give me a time when they will show up. I spoke to John who was the mover in charge that day and he was nasty, and an unprofessional thug who almost threatened me by saying that we were messing with the wrong person and that he could go home and sleep in his bed and we could basically find someone else to do the job. Then he wanted to charge me more money to add more guys to do the job. I paid them almost $400 for 3 hours the prior day to move less than one room of furniture. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY..THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND DAMAGE YOUR FURNITURE. SCAMMERS..WORKING SLOWLY TO RIP YOU OFF FOR AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY CAN..DONT USE THEM...RUN....

I initially selected Big Apple Moving because they had a great track record with the BBB and that gave me a level of confidence in their service. Joe Clements from Big Apple came to my home to provide an estimate, and from the questions he asked and the information he provided it was obvious that he really knew his stuff. Their preparation team came to my home the day before the move and did a great prep job with padding furniture, etc. to save time the next day, because the building I was moving from and the building I was moving to both required that the move be completed between 9am and 5pm. They returned on the move day and very efficiently took care of everything both loading and unloading, and even put all of my unbolted furniture back together again without any issues. I hope never to move again, but if I need to move I will definitely call Big Apple Moving!

Picked Big Apple after getting about 20 quotes for a move upstate because the estimate was actually based on some thought - cost came in about the middle of the pack but after talking to Joe Clements in his 3rd Avenue office I had some confidence they would actually show up. Guys Joe sent were great. John in particular, the wise old pro, was fantastic. I forget the names of the other workers but they busted butt too. It was a hot day, a complicated move, but they worked every minute. I practically had to knock them out to get them to stop and have some water. Ill be using Big Apple again for my next move although hopefully that wont happen for another decade or two. TIP: I chose to move on a day I knew I could wrangle parking in front of the building on both ends of the move. Saved a lot of time and hassle and no honking - neighbors appreciated it.

The day we moved it was pouring rain. I was worried about my belongings and about how the weather would affect the speed of the move, but Big Apple FAR exceeded my expectations. I still cant get over it! Their team was so efficient that we were moved in as quickly as promised which was no small feat considering the amount of stairs that were involved and the relentless rain. The movers were pleasant and even entertaining throughout (few people would be as pleasant carrying a dresser on their backs up and down stairs in a downpour). All of my belonging arrived in the same condition as they left my apartment. There is certainly a reason that they have been in business tor 30 years. Moving is such a difficult and tedious experience -- I appreciate that Big Apple Moving didnt add to the anxiety but rather took some of the stress away.

I live in Maine, and my daughter was moving from one apartment in NYC to another. Since we couldn’t get down to NYC to help with the move, I searched the Internet and found BIG APPLE MOVING and booked the job. The price was reasonable and there was absolutely no hidden costs. The three men who moved my daughter, Jose the crew chief, Jonathan and Juan were absolutely EXCELLENT. My daughter said they were professional, polite, friendly and extremely careful and efficient. She was amazed by how the crew carried her boxes, TV, etc. up the five flights of stairs to her new apartment! She raved about them and will definitely use BIG APPLE MOVING in the future. I was nervous about booking the move without a personal reference. I’m glad I chose BIG APPLE MOVING for my daughter’s move.

They moved my family for a house on Long Island to Brooklyn. 6 guys in two trucks packed to the brim! They were very fast, very careful and actually came in slightly UNDER their estimate. Steve the foreman was great and the guys worked really hard lumping some really heavy stuff up and down a lot of flights. I also used them to move my office and they were great again. They had to move cubicles (including dissassembly and reassembly) and were more than $400 less than other quotes. The move in was after 6pm and they handled it perfectly. Highly recomended.
