As a woman driver I have to be very careful about the services that is offered to me and the services I get from these mechanics. I have been ripped of before. I took my car to this shop (1029 Atlantic Ave) to address a problem Ive had now forever and have had several mechanics looked at and said that they serviced my car but none of them were able to find this problem, the real problem. A corrosive valve that kept triggering the "Check Engine Light". I saw Kamal and he was very professional, very helpful, this man knows his Kraft. He did the smoke test on my car to find the leak and pinpointed the problem right away, he also told me that this leak was not easy to find. He told me which part I need to order, I ordered it and took the car back into the shop and he installed it told me exactly how much it was going to cost, showed me the part he removed (NO TRICKS) and I havent had that problem again. I like the fact that was so engaging, he involved me in everthing he was doing to my car and the entire process. I highly recommend Kamal at this Meineke Location, he is a fair, honest person of integrity,and is engaging. I cant say enough about him. Thank you Kamal. I finally found a mechanic I can trust.

Im not happy with Meineke, but I wont leave an angry review- just informative. I took my car here because I used to live nearby and my starter had gone out. They replaced it in early september 2012 for $480 including labor. Now, its mid-february 2013 and the starter died AGAIN. I took it to Geovanny, my new guy, who said to take it back to them but that he would only charge me $60 plus whatever the part cost if I needed him to do it. So I take it to meineke where they say that its not under warranty but theyll do what they can to get it for me. I leave it over night and they replace it, call me the next morning saying they got it covered but now I must pay $135 for labor. So I didnt get a choice in the matter, and I have paid double labor now (which is already double what other guys would charge me)- for the same part in 5 months. I think its poor customer service and would recommend people seek out a guy who puts the customers and good service first. I felt a bit cheated and like they didnt even give me an option.

Came here for an oil change and NYS inspection. First, the guy at the front desk was asleep. Next he asks me what type of service, I tell him just high mileage oil - he rolls his eyes and proceeds to tell me about all the other garbage they can give you for more money. I stick with the basic package which is all you need. Then he gives me a hard time about the inspection with the check engine light on, I try to explain that Toyotas typically have bad gas caps and if a full service guy doesnt tighten the cap all the way the check engine light will come on and wont turn off until reset. I understand that the check engine light is an automatic failure for the inspection, but he wants me to fork over $75 just for him to confirm what Im telling him and reset the light - and then he still wont grant the inspection! Id have to go put 100 miles on my car then hed give me the inspection sticker. Sure buddy. Let me just bleed cash for a couple days for you.

Great place! I am always totally satisfied at this MEINEKE. I put my trust in them every time. Since I am a woman who knows very little about cars, I like to go to this place because the Manager and/or mechanic always take me under the car while on the lift and explain exactly what needs to be done. They show me the broken parts and explain the purpose of those parts in the car. They also tell me what is essential and what can wait for another time. I dont know what is wrong with these other reviewers, but my experience with this shop is entirely positive. And as for the charges, I feel that the charges are reasonable. I have had my car inspected there twice and each time I have been charged the typical $37.00. I have a girlfriend who has had experience with a bad mechanic, so I have a mode of comparison. These guys are GREAT!

I had a voucher I had bought for an oil change. As soon as I came in with it, I was told there would be an additional charge of $3.50 for oil disposal. Dont oil changes inherently require oil disposal? Then, when he found out that my car has a skid plate under the engine that needs to be removed (by removing some screws), he told me that would cost an additional $10. So, I ended up paying almost $13.50 plus tax for an oil change that I had ostensibly paid for when I bought the voucher. Without the voucher, oil changes are $19.95, according to the big sign out front. I told them that I felt the additional charges were bogus and that another Meineke shop had honored the voucher (no additional charges), but my complaint fell on deaf ears. I would suggest finding snother place to have your car serviced.

Worst place ever. I had to take my brakes back 4 times for them to fix what they did. First visit, they initially quoted me $900 for brakes. I asked if there were cheaper parts we could use, to cut costs. They said no but kept trying to push their line of credit. After I said I would use my mechanic closer to my job (who would only charge $550), the cost went down to $650. Fast forward - and within about a months span, Ive had to take the car back 4 times to get something on the brakes redone. Finally, after the fifth incident, I ended up taking it across the street to the place at BP gas station. Im currently disputing the charge with my credit card company. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS MEINEKE!!!! WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!

the worst experience i have EVER had with any business. they are total rip off merchants. THIS BRANCH PUT IN A FAULTY PART IN MY CAR AND REFUSE TO HONOR IT, EVEN WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD. MEINEKE CORPORATE REFUSE TO HELP. the manager also tried to charge me for 3 hours on a catalytic converter install when it took 45 minutes. he then changed the warranty from 2 years to 90 days. i have this documented. our car will now not pass smog and after only about 5 weeks after install, this branch, who make up lies to suit themselves, and Meineke corporate, will not help us. ABSOLUTE CROOKS.

I have been going to Meineke since 2005. I have always had a pleasant experience there, which is why I keep going back. This time I went on 6/13/12 for my back brakes, then again on Friday for air conditioning work. Each time, the Manager, Ashton, explained everything that would be done to the car which was very comforting to explain everything that was wrong and exactly what he was going to do. I am very pleased with Meineke and look forward to them being the mechanic for the length of time I own my Cadillac. Let me know if there is anything further you require from me.
