I called Roto Rooter on a Saturday to fix a clog/slow drain issue in the bathroom sink and tub. When they arrived , the guy looked at the issue and said it will cost me $425 to snake 1 drain (the bathroom sink). I agreed cause I needed the problem fixed asap. He snaked the pipe 3-6 times and had to cut the snake wire 3-5 times. The machine ran out of the thin snake wire, so he went to get another machine that had a thicker snake wire. That snake machine didnt even turn on, he kept swapping the power cable between the same 2 outlets thinking it would just work. He then carried the non working snake machine back to his van and spent about 20 mins reloading the thin snake wire in the original machine he was using. During the whole time he kept pushing me to buy their so called eco friendly drain cleaner for $50. He must have mentioned it like 4 times. He nearly spent 2 hours snaking one pipe. The sink drain was somewhat better the before. I asked him about snaking the tub drain, he said he would have to charge me for it. I told him Im not paying another $425 to snake the tub. He said he wouldnt charge me that much and offered to do it for $150, I declined. I asked if he could give me a discount, he said yes, but didnt say how much. He goes back to his van and writes up the bill. He charged me $425 + tax which came out to be around $460 and gave me a $40 discount which brought it down to $419. Discount was really no discount. I wouldnt recommend Roto Rooter to anyone! Lesson learned, I will definitely do my research next time before calling a plumber.

I leave in three story condo on the first floor. On 08/31/17 I noticed that dirty water started to raised in my kitchen sink coming from above apartments when they use dishwasher or washer only, not all the time. When I use myself kitchen sink or dishwasher - no problem. I made an appointment with board recommended plumber in afternoon 09/02/17. But when I was for 15-20 min in my bedroom and back to the kitchen it was flooded over the sink 4 cabinets and half of the kitchen. The plumber came and I tried to explained to him in details the problem he do not want to listen and said the problem inside of my apartment and did some work and left. Then on 09/05/17 evening dirty water started raising again and I called the plumber but he refused to come now and said I will come tomorrow. I was use the bracket to take dirty water to dump in the toilet every 10-15 minutes for 2 hours. DISASTER !!! I called "Roto -Rooter" for help. The plumber Andy came and listen me finally and confirm that problem in the main drain line not inside of my apartment. Hi acted very professional, fast , no mess and quiet ( because it was 3:00 a.m.). The only the reason I gave the 4 stars that I have to wait 4 hours.

We have used the company before, with satisfactory service. This time we had a simple job that we were quoted a price for and told how much the parts were. The job couldnt be done on the first night because the serviceman didnt have the part. The next day another serviceman came with parts and did the job. It took 15 mins. Really simple. He then told us the job was $50 more then the original price. Also he charged us double the price of the parts. I tried to talk to the manager. He wouldnt change price and stood by what his serviceman had done. $325 to change a shower cartridge. I took the delta fixture apart already. Pretty much did 75% of the job. We really feel we were ripped off. I wonder how many times they do this to people? Probably often. Most people wont bother. We are are middle class working family that struggle to survive. But who really cares right? The rich,always get richer. I would not recommend this company or service to anyone anymore. We will take our business elsewhere I would have gave no stars if I could. Even though the first tech who came was really polite,nice and helpful. No problem with him. He works for a DIs-HONEST company

I called Roto -Rotor when my toilet was clogged and they came immediately and fixed it. However, there had been a sound of running water and the plumber offered to fix it the next day when he could get the part. Unfortunately, he couldnt get it the next day because it was a Sunday so we postponed the appointment. Then his van broke down so it was shifted to someone else. He came and replaced the part and left without flushing. Needless to say, it didnt flush. I called and waited 5 hours rather than the projected 2 to wait or a plumber who fiddled with it and said it was fine. Twenty minutes later, it didnt flush. Two more came who said it was fine after fiddling with it. The last one implied I was crazy and Magic" was causing it to break. Five appointments thus far. Finally,I got another plumber who decided that he would try a new part and it worked. This took over 7 days. I called and although they are monitored for quality control, there was no quality. People did not get back to me.Projections were incorrect. I had to fight or a partial refund. Totally awful experience.

I turned to these guys because my normal heating/plumbing company that I have a contract with, could NOT send someone on a weekend to route out a sewer line that was backing up in my basement (yuck)! a job that has to be done immediately if you dont want a big messy hazard. My normal guys were going to send a subcontractor if they could find one and I was NOT happy. I called these guys and not only did they come FAST, they routed the line twice and came back again a few days later to send a camera down there to make sure it was clear! they called me and explained what they found and I was very happy with the service and they were very professional! they even recommended a clean up crew for the bit of mess that the back up created. They also told me they found a few chunks of old pipe the my contracted company let fall down in to the stack while they were doing a repair. grrr. They showed me the pieces. They have a really good call center with super responsive nice people answering the phone. Recommended. The weekend routing and all cost me total $500.

The service was prompt and professional. I discovered that my water heater was no longer working at about 8:00 pm on a Saturday night. After googling the options in my neighborhood for repair service, Roto-rooter came up as the first option. I called them and a plumber was at my house by 9:00 pm that night. It turned out that my water heater could not be repaired and I would need a replacement. The plumber (Alex - ALEX53) that came out provided all the pertinent information including a detailed cost estimate. Furthermore, he was able to come the next day (Sunday, at 10:00 am) and install a brand new water heater (in about 4 hrs.). I really appreciate the professionalism and swift call to action that Roto-Rooter provided. Their work is backed up by a 1 year warranty on the parts and labor, and 10 year warranty on the water heater. I highly recommend them for your water heater needs. I could have called Sears or Home Depot, but I would have had to wait about 5 days before any service would be performed, and would have paid the same price as Roto-Rooter.
