On June 30th, I contracted Pods to deliver 2 storage/moving pods to my home in Ithaca NY, the saleswoman said that delivery in my area was available on Fridays and Tuesdays, so we arranged to have the units delivered on Friday July 24th and picked up on Tuesday July 28th. My husband and I are selling our home in Ithaca to move to Boston but are already working in Boston, so after booking the Pods we asked for time off from work to make the move on the dates that the Pods were available for pickup/dropoff. We also arranged the closing of the sale of our house to be the day after the pickup of the Pods. I received a call on July 13th, less than 2 weeks before the delivery of the pods, to inform me that the sales agent had made a mistake and that delivery/pickup in our area was only available on Tuesdays, and that the earliest delivery date would be July 28th with the next available pickup being August 4th. The customer service agent who called to inform me of the change was unable to arrange for any earlier delivery dates despite the error having been caused by Pods and not caused by me. I was informed that the Pods were available in Syracuse NY (1.5 hours away from Ithaca) but that they could not arrange for a truck to deliver them to me as promised. While I was on the phone with him, the customer service representative repeatedly called the Syracuse location to ask the supervisor for solutions, but the supervisor simply said that the delivery schedule had already filled up and that Ithaca was too far from Syracuse for them to make any exceptions to their schedule. This change to the promised delivery dates so close to our move date imperiled the sale of our house, (because we cannot close if our personal items have not been removed by July 29th) and caused us monetary harm, because other moving companies have increased their prices due to the last minute nature of all alternative solutions we found to remedy the situation. We were made a false promise by the saleswoman, causing us to incur additional expenses through no fault of our own, and were put in a difficult situation due to the last minute nature of their cancellation. If Pods is not capable of fulfilling their promises they should take pains to make customers aware of this, warning that a window of several weeks may be necessary for delivery, and cautioning those who are moving long distances to look for another method of transportation if their work and/or home sales depend on vacating the premises by a specified date.

Very POOR experiance. I ordered a single POD and it was delivered. I decided I required another POD and called to inquire what the price would be. I was told it would be double the POD price but was not informed the shipping fee of over $1300.00 would also be doubled. I recieved no confirming e=mail similar to the one I got after ordering the original POD. Also, PODS recommended a loader who took all three hours I had them to load only one POD which I had preloaded half already with plastic storage totes. They asked for a tape measure and actually measured gaps where things could be placed to maximize the space. At first this may seem smart BUT NOT EVERY article. Thats not all, they were three hours late.

We had a gap between our lease and closing on our new house, so loading a Pod and putting it into storage for a few weeks was just what we needed. Its also nicer loading and unloading a Pod because it sits right on the ground, and unlike a truck you dont have to be in a rush to get everything loaded or unloaded. The deliveries and pick ups on both ends were easy to schedule, prompt, and the drivers were awesome. There were a lot of obstacles to being able to place the Pod at our apartment and the drivers had no problem dropping it off or picking it up.
