I became a member of this facility in January 2010 at which time they promised to be getting new cardio equipment (which seemed to always be broken) for months and months but they never did. There was always new staff at the front desk, new management etc. so I tried to cancel my membership in April 2010. The cancellation policy was absolutely ridiculous!! I had to send certified letters to the location rather than being able to simply walk in and cancel my membership. After trying to cancel, I was overbilled for THREE months after the fact. They claimed they never receieved my letter (even though I sent the letter certified) so I had to repeat the process again before they finally stopped charging my credit card. Getitng my money back was another disaster! The corporate office never picks up their phone and are extremely rude and hard to deal with! I finally got my money back after fighting and fighting with "Jessica" in the back office. From what I heard around the gym (and later confirmed after doing some research) is that the owner of this Synergy location went to jail for TRIPLE MURDER so his wife is trying to the gym, and apparently not doing a very good job. I went to Retro Fitness which is a few blocks away and is half the price and has brand new equipment! 2 Thumbs Down for Synergy!

They will welcome you with open arms when you join but try to cancel your membership and they keep billing you even though they know you canceled. I called to cancel my membership was told to come in person or send a letter. In May I sent a letter. In June I get billed again. I called and spoke to Leslie again and told her. She explained its probably the last month billing cycle, she will check to see if they got the letter and if there were any problems she would call me back. Never called back. Now in August I am billed again but now instead of $25 its $39. Called again and spoke to Leslie again. Now she is being a rude little snot and says it has to be a certified letter with a signed receipt and states Im going to get billed for a month after they receive the letter. Even the post office which is 3 blocks from the gym couldnt believe they claimed they didnt get the letter and required a signed receipt. This place is a total scam filled with juice heads and unless you are a competitive lifter they couldnt care less about you. Save your money and Join Planet Fitness or Retro and get into a real gym. Hope Synergy goes out of business.

Cancelled our membership back in May 2010.. It is now August 2010 and they are STILL charging our debit card with membership fees and another annual fee! Spoke to them probably SIX times about it, sent them BANK STATEMENTS showing the deduction and all "Terri" or "Christine" keep saying is "We are working on it" Never returning a phone call, I ALWAYS have to call back to follow up. They blame a software system change back in June for the issue, ummmm cancelled in MAY, hello! Im not an unreasonable person, but FOUR MONTHS of charges that we should not have paid for and NO CALL BACK OR FOLLOW UP. Calling my legal service and our bank to report them as fraudulent charges... Now onto the BBB. Good Job Synergy. Love when people don’t do their job and think the problem is just going to disappear if they ignore it.

STAY AWAY From this worthless gym. This is the worst gym ever. Equipment was always broken. Their weightlifting area is in a dungeon. I cancelled my membership but even but a year later recieved a call from debt collection agency that I havent paid my membership dues. That was redicilous, they reported me to an agency without sending me any notice if my membership was not cancelled. The staff is the worst, when I called to inquire they repeatedly hung up on me!

I have been a member here for 2 years. I love the morning fitness classes. I never wait for a treadmill and I only pay $199 per year. The front desk people are nice and the place is clean
