I have been a member of Planet Fitness for over a year. I have no idea what the negative poster is talking about. Must be an employee at another nearby gym. Whatever. I am here to tell you that the staff is most gracious and helpful. I never have a problem getting a cardio machine - they have both recumbent and regular bikes, stairmasters, ellipticals and treadmills. If you are looking to become Arnold Schwarzeneggar, this is not the gym for you. Go to Golds Gym and go huff, grunt and clang down your 300 lb weights to show off how strong you are. But if you are looking to become fit, or just stay in shape inexpensively, Planet Fitness in Melville is the place. I have seen people of every age, race, shape and size here. They dont call it the no-judgment zone for nothing. Just come and workout and feel good about yourself.

The person below really doesnt know what they are talking about. The only thing that is true is that they do not have a lot of equipment for people who are really serious about weight training A LOT, which is why they do not advertise themselves to body builders. The gym has tons of cardio machines and a decent amount of toning machines. The staff has always been pleasant when I have been there and everybody minds their own business so you will not have any issues working out. The gym is huge and while it is true that you get what you pay for, you may only notice that there is no pool or basketball courts, but for the average gym goer, I highly recommend Planet Fitness :)

Always a long wait for machines. There is a decent variety of equipment, which is the only reason why I gave Planet Fitness 2 stars instead of just one. However, my biggest issue is the customer service. Initially, I was never told that on top of the initiation fee and $10 a month fee, there was also a yearly fee. When I protested this, I was assured that I had been told, which is bull. Management was condescending, rude, and seems to think they can do no wrong. If you dont mind being treated like crap in order to save a few bucks, this is the gym for you.

THIS GYM BLOWS! I went to the centereach planet fitness for over a year. the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. recently moving to melville i figured id check out my local planet fitness. the gym was packed, dirty, the equipment was dirty, and the your in an uncomfortable environment . i would not recommend this gym! your better off at any other location.

This place sucks !!! They are false advertising they have WiFi when it doesnt even work. I tried listening to music on WiFi while working out, when it wasnt working I told the from desk idiot, his reply was "theres a lot of people on it"; even though there were only 15 people at the gym only. Hopefully the Hicksville location is better.

great gym, wish the wi-fi connection was better. every morning i lose Pandora! so frustrating. People need music to work out, its a necessity!!!!!!!!! was told wifi would be updated. They said when too many people are at the gym, connection is lost at times. There were 4 people in the gym today and I could NOT get wifi.

Really GREAT exercise environment and experience! Very large, friendly place, lots of machines, even fresh cut flowers in the ladies locker room. This is THE BEST Planet Fitness Ive found, and for $10 a month for unlimited use and classes, its an incredible health bargain.

The Internet is terribly slow zero to no connectivity for over a year. There tanning booths have had the bulbs installed incorrectly for months after it was reported a few times. Otherwise clean, quite and not super busy. Most staff are nice and customer service is ok.

I used to be a member here but cancelled due to a cockroach infestation there. I would just be careful before you join. They may have gotten the problem under control. Otherwise the gym was just ok.
