I am not sure what some of these wildly inane comments are about but I have had nothing but positive experiences here at Firestone Fort Drum. I have been stationed here for 5 years and my two vehicles have received over 30 services combined. I remember a couple of years ago during a standard tire rotation a technician named Gene discovered my right rear wheels lug nuts were loose to the point that I would have lost it it if I had continued in my travels. This was due to a faulty brake service I received when I was in school at Fort Sill several weeks prior. My life was possibly saved due to this discovery. Several weeks ago my car was in service for an oil change and winter to all season tire change over. Sam the manager called me and asked permission to replace two lights that were discovered inop. This caring and attention to detail saved me numerous dollars. We all know how NY state likes to get money for minor traffic violations. I have NEVER seen any retreads location and it is absurd to think that may have transpired as one commenter posted here previously. I have never had any issues and can only speak well about the professionalism exhibited by all members of this particular Firestone team.

Honestly not my favorite place at all. What drew the straw was last time (I dropped off my vehicle (bottom transmission line disconnected from fitting likely wasnt seated properly my bad) I went there to save time as I had a busy schedule and didnt have time to fix it myself (2003 Chevrolet Blazer) they kept it for a day and when I called them the next day they said they couldnt do it without removing the exhaust and didnt feel safe doing it (Keep in mind I already added the fitting once just reach up behind the transmission cross member and over to the right above the exhaust pipe) so as of about 520 pm Im gonna be working on my vehicle fixing it in their parking lot to get it back home. So thats my story simply put a generic wrencher doing vehicle work for approx 5 years as a hobby who wanted some time to do other things is now fixing his car at a "Mechanics" parking lot. GOOD GAME WELL PLAYED. Gonna be passing word of mouth my good and bad experiences from this place. Kinda bummed because one of your guyses mechanics actually a really cool dude.

I took my vehicle here because I have a warranty for my tires here. They fixed my tire which was leaking for free because of said warranty, but when I was having my NYS inspection renewed since the truck was there anyways, it all went south. Their service technicians wanted to do over $400 worth of services including flushing my anti-freeze, fuel cleaning service (which does absolutely nothing read about it), and transmission fluid. They concluded my transmission fluid had never been changed when it was literally changed 2 days before I took it to them. Also wanted to charge me $73 to replace a license plate light bulb socket, I spent $5 and put in a universal socket myself. Good warranty, not worth the hassle of terrible service and trying to weasel everything they can from you.

After having the distinct privilege to serve on seven different Army installations throughout the US and utilizing Firestone at all seven of them this one by far is the laziest, most unorganized, lack of true customer service and no integrity. What a joke this place is, the so-called manager S. and other associates J. and B. should be ashamed of their lackadaisical approach and no effort to get a hold of the customers after customer gave them current contact information. DO NOT take your vehicles here, I was hesitant after reading the other reviews but I was never stirred wrong by Firestone in the past, so I thought they were just unappreciated reviews. After not having a vehicle for two days, with no work being completed the reviews are entirely true.

Took my vehicle there for a NYS inspection, ball joints and a "Courtesy Check". Less then 900 miles (2 weeks) later I started to hear a grinding noise and had a lot of play in my steering wheel. So I took it to the closest place which happen to be Gwizz Auto Repair (great service) They had told me that my left Tie-Rod was damaged and my right Tie-Rod was about to fall off and that my wheel bearing was making the noise and had to be replaced. Funny, I thought Tie-Rods were a major component in the NYS inspection and a extremely serious safety concern...... Dont take your vehicle there, its cheap prices for even cheaper work! I will also be making a formal complaint with all my supporting documents.

Its probalbly been 5x that ive gone there to get an alignment done, and 5x that is has taken from 8am-5pm. Every time i call i set up an appointment because if i do that, then the sooner it should be done. Or thats the idea anyway. They even ask what time would i like to get the car. If you tell them noon, dont expect your car until they close. All i am saying is if your ok with basic mechanical work that almost anyone with a ar lift can do taking apprx 10hrs to complete, then go there. Or if you like things to get done the way it should be in a timely manner since people have other things to do then wait in firestone 8hrs for a tire rotation, go somewhere else. Go to Midas, there better.

Went for an oil change. Appointment was made online using a discount from the Firestone website. Staff refused to honor the discount and called me a liar. I offered to show them on my phone and they said they couldnt do anything, only after I signed the paperwork. Came back to pick up my vehicle and an employee said that I should have been able to get the discount by showing the offer on my phone and implied that I was lying. I told him I could pull it up on my phone, and then he backtracked, trying to explain he was worried about an audit from Firestone. Only gave one star because zero wasnt an option.

I have used these guys twice. The first time was a walk in tire repair. They took care of it in less than 10 minutes. The other time was work on the exhaust on my truck. They finihsed in less than the quoted estimated time, they also fully informed me as to the nature of the work they were doing and what could possibly happen to exsisting parts. Despite the distinct possibility of damaging parts they did the job without having to replace any major components not already worn out. What I thought would have been a more expensive job was kept below $450, which was even less than their original quote.

DO NOT GO HERE! I repeat DO NOT GO HERE! I was getting an oil change and they come up to me and tell me I need a new air filter, however I have a K&N air filter installed on my truck so I told the guy that and he backtracked and was fumbling around to try to cover his lie. They are crooks and they should be ashamed of themselves for being disloyal to their customers who are primarily military. Honestly this place needs to be shutdown and customers should go to MIDAS in watertown because they are genuine and loyal to their customers
