I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted at various salons across the country for many years, and by far, the customer service experience I had at Satori was one of the worst. Id seen Demitra a number of times and had been happy with the cuts though generally not as happy with the highlights Id received. After taking in a picture of a color I wanted and being re-assured it was possible with my hair, I ended up with hair that looked like a skunk! At that time, she toned down the blond, and I left feeling ok about it. But upon returning home and seeing my hair in natural and home lighting, I was mortified! I called the salon to try to work it out, and long story short, was told _I_ could pay to have it "fixed" and was made to feel guilty about the cost of the fix being taken out of Demitras pocket instead of the salons. When I resisted, I was told by one of the owners that I needed to find a different salon, that I obviously couldnt effectively communicate w/ her wonderful stylist. Yes, apparently a picture of what I wanted wasnt clear enough. The owner refunded the cost of the color, but I have never been treated so poorly!

As of Feb 2017, Satori doesnt offer any massages, but they were still listed on their website. Salon is very clean and inviting. Free drinks (variety of teas, juices, coffee, wine). Plenty of parking. I had a pedicure and it was very nice. Its not set up the way most nail salons are -- there are no massage chairs or baths that bubble that you put your feet in. You sit on kind of an elevated ledge and put your feet in a sink. It wasnt an issue though - the ledge that you sit on has lots of pillows and is comfortable. The pedicure was well done and the person doing it was very friendly and we chatted most of the time. There are 2 pedicure options - spa pedicure and signature. The signature pedicure includes a 15 min massage and uses all Aveda products. I got the spa pedicure which included just a minute or two of massage, but was more than just nail care - had a nice exfoliating scrub that went up to the knees and was wrapped with hot towels. I also had a facial with Emily which was really nice. She was very informative and I learned a lot about my skin.

I have been going to Satori since it opened. It has been amazing to watch the spa go from a few employees to almost 20. I enjoy the three diffrent price levels. It is nice to know a girl with basic training does not cost as much as a stylist who has received years of advanced training. That said I recently switched from a senior stylist to a pure talent stylist and was very happy with my cut and color. I have really curly hard to tame hair and she understood exactly what neeeded to be done. I read the reviews below and am shocked by number of bad reviews. I feel like the only people who are posting are those that happened to have a bad experience. I know the owners quite well as well as the spa manager and feel that if instead of posting online about issues with services, they went to the owner and spoke about thier concern, they would be happy to help fix the problem. I heart Satori

I made an appointment with a senior stylist because I have short, thick hair which can be tricky to style. She was very friendly, but I had a pretty mediocre experience for the money ($50 plus tip). She didnt shampoo my hair very thoroughly (kinda missed the back), and got more water/shampoo on my face then Im used to. Obviously thats minor , though I appreciate a good scalp massage. But she also only spent a half an hour on my hair, and didnt do much styling after drying. But the worst thing was that she put wayy too much product in my hair, which is thick but my individual hairs are fine, so heavy product = greaseball effect. Ive just never had such a mediocre to negative experience for this price. Bottom line: if you arent fussy and want to be in and out quickly this place may be fine for you. They are certainly nice, but not worth the money.

Every Satori visit is an enjoyable, relaxing experience. Ive had a long standing relationship with my hair stylist, Demitra, who is the best!! But, over the years, Ive gotten to know many of the staff for manicures, pedicures, waxing, or for recommending products. Everyone is very knowledgeable, attentive to details, thoughtful and caring, without being overly excessive. And the staff will be quick to advise me to not use a certain product because it wont work for me, or because I dont need it. Sure, I know Im paying more for a mani/pedi compared to other places around town, but I also know I will never get an infection from the Satori facilities. Finally, Id like to commend the owners, Lynette and Christy, for Satoris lovely environment. You feel it the minute you walk out of your car and into the shop. Its a great place! Thanks, Satori!!!

Ive gone to Satori since they opened. Theyve had their rough moments, but theyve grown as any business would. Ive had my hair cut all over the U.S. and I know that getting a good haircut stems from a good relationship. It takes time for you to trust your stylist and for your stylist to be able to do exactly what you want. Now I know who I want when I call Satori and I know what to expect. On the same note, the one time I did have a bad experience with a new haircut (Im looking at you Hot Momma), I didnt write an angry review and blame the entire business, I just called and told them that I was unhappy with it. They told me they were sorry I wasnt pleased and told me they could either refund my money or give me a credit for a free cut in the future. I took the credit to give them another shot and boy am I glad I did!

Some basic things about their business: when you book an appointment, they ask for your credit card number so that if you miss your appointment they charge you a cancellation/missed appointment fee. Also, you can only tip with cash. I had my eyebrows waxed there. The girl who waxed them was friendly, the private room was nice, but the heated bed/cot that she had me lie down on was really hot and a little uncomfortable to be on. My eyebrows look nice, but on one lid I have two burns/scratches. I dont know when I got them, since . . . well . . . waxing is painful. Ive only waxed a few times before, but Ive never gotten wounded before . . . Next time Ill probably go back to Head to Toe Salon, the atmosphere is not as nice, but it is cheaper and the results were better.

Being new to the area, I discovered Satori as I am very loyal to Bumble and Bumble products, and it is a Bumble and Bumble salon. I could not have been more disappointed with my experience. I tried several services: manicure, pedicure, facial, and cut/color/blow out. Each service was less than sub par, and the prices were completey preposterous for the quality that I received. The manicure was less than perfect, as was the pedicure, and each lasted less than 24 hours before chipping. A cut, color, and blow out came to over $300! I went back to my former salon in PA to have them correct it a few weeks later. I wouldnt mind the insane prices if the quality is worth it. Unfortunately, for my hair, nails, skin, and wallet, the experience was a tremendous let down.
