Rude, incompetent, deceitful, and deplorable service (or lack of service entirely). These are the only words I can use to describe my experience with Roto-Rooter. They left me waiting for hours to service my broken toilet despite giving me a two-hour window of time in which to expect them. They called towards the end of my window to tell me not to expect them within that time and that they would in fact be 3 hours or more from that time. When I called to speak with someone to find out what the holdup was and to see when they could get a plumber to my apartment, I was given different answers by every person I spoke with. On top of this, they (especially representatives John H. and Tom B. based out of Baltimore) were rude and lied to me regarding when a technician was coming, saying only "Oh, we dont make any guarantees". They refused to give me another ETA and actually had the gall to tell me that they would potentially not make it until the next day?! Outrageous. I ended up finding a local emergency plumber (this was after hours!!) to fix my toilet, which he did quickly and efficiently. Funnily enough, when I told the local plumber about my experience with RR, he laughed and said he hears this story all the time (and also he told me how expensive they are for lackluster service)! There is no reason to deal with Roto-Rooter unless you are truly in a pinch in the middle of the night. Even then, save your time, energy, (and sanity) as RR probably will not get to you until the (next?) morning so best to wait until its light out and call a local plumber!!!

It took 3 technicians and 3 visits but this team did not give up to get the job done. After seeing the hard work everyone put into the job I did not mind that they came after the estimated time provided. They dont leave until the job is done and I will happily wait an extra hour knowing I will receive the same attention. Tony (#2430) in the Jetting truck brought it home by clearing the tree roots the snake could not get to. Russ (#693) did an admirable job attempting to snake out the drain with Rory. I like the warm hand off that occurred where Russ explained the details of what he had seen to Tony so that he was up to speed by the time he got here. Another nice point was the water hook-up...it was late and Tony had to be in early the next day. He hooked into my tap outside to make sure he had enough water. When the job was done and I got a head start on cleaning the basement floor, Tony disconnected his hose and RECONNECTED mine! It sounds like a small point (and it is) but that shows awareness and dedication. I was very impressed. I used RR for the first time when my regular guy was not available. I recommend this Mamaroneck office with confidence.

Bill in Mahopac........ Last week, had the dreaded "Septic System Backup" problem. Fortunately, discovered it very early and had no damage. Immediately called Roto-Rooter hot line and within 30 minutes, a technician (plumber) called back from the Mamaroneck office (actually, he was local gut just a few miles away). He was onsite within the hour, had a very positive attitude and immediatley gave me a price for the work and got to what had to be done. He eventually needed to dig up some ground to get to a trap outside (that last guy I called didnt even consider 8 months ago when this happened before), cleaned everything out and even ran a camera down the drain and videod / put on CD what was seen. The Tech (Edwin, #1879) was probably one of the most knowlegable ones I have dealt with in many, many years. Will not hesitate to call these guys again. Good job for a fair price. (Hope I get the same tech back again if this ever happens again) Thanx for being prompt, professional, courteous, reasonably priced and being there "in a time of dire need".

Sharif, from the Mamaroneck R-R division, arrived within the 2 hr window on the Sunday night (6-8pm) as the dispatch advised me; and he quickly assessed the problem (a clogged sewer lead from my house to the sewer main) and helped me try to find the sewer-cap in my garage. When we discovered that it was rusted shut under -a 1/4 plate steel plate- his second solution was to snake the basement and see how far he could go in removing our sewage clog which was backing up waste into the basement shower and gas bubbling into basement toilette. Sharif went the extra mile to remedy the problem and he removed the porcelain toilette (and replaced it when done). (so he could get a straight shot with the powered snake). We were very pleased with the outcome, and we were back showering and flushingnour toilettes that Sunday night by 10 pm. Sharif is pleasant to work with, a very good listener and polite. Thank you again!

RMS 3-29-11 Five Stars! Mr. Jeff Walter, the service technician from Roto-Rooter, was remarkably courteous, professional, and knowledgeable when he came to give me an estimate for two clogged sinks. In all honesty, I never expected the extraordinary customer service that Mr. Walter provided. Roto-Rooter is a large national company. Whod ever expect - from such a large company - to meet an employee whod take the time to explain what the problem was with my sinks, how the problem could be corrected and what it would cost? He was upfront and honest with me about the total cost of the repair and, believe me, in my waning years those are qualities from a company employee that I truly appreciate and applaud. Roto-Rooters in good hands if it continues to hire high quality employees like Mr. Walter!

The Plumber from Mamaroneck was outstanding. Our septic had backed up from seven years of non-cleaning by the previous owners. After having the septic pumped, there was still 150 of pipe backed up to the house that was clogged like a bad chamber to your heart. My homes heart was clogged and already had had two bad seizures where it spit right into our finished basement. After the bowels were cleaned out by a septic company, in came Dr. Roto-Rooter with his magic bag of tricks. Bing Bang Boom, my home received an enema treatment, and was back up and running. Just in time for an unexpected October major snowfall. Thank you Roto Rootor, "and down went trouble out the..."

I contacted the Roto-Rooter of Mamaroceck in Weschester NY to clean out my main sewer lines in the house. Vinny came to the house with an assistant. Both were clean and professional. He evaluated the situation and we discussed the price and options. He did a thorough job. He cut off clean out caps that others would not do. My only small issue was i requested to have the pipes checked by a video camera. Vinny was unaware of this request and did not have a camera, but he informed me i would be contated to have it done. It was a clean job and i was satisfied even though it cost alot, although a lot was done. I highly commend the company.

I needed some routine maintenance done on my drains out to the street. I had gotten the same work done years ago with good results so call Roto-Rooter again. Although I said that this was non-emergency, still someone was dispatched that same morning. Gabe (1115) came and as it turned out he was the same one who had cleared out my slow drains years ago. He remember being there and did the same great job. Very friendly guy who took the time to run a partial cycle on my washing machine to make sure all was clear. I would recommend him and their services..
