2nd Review (12/02/2014) ===================== I believe businesses should have 2nd chances to prove themselves. But disappointed again. Went there for headlight bulb replacement. I was lazy and forgot my previous experience and settled for convenience. The bulb was replaced or not the headlight didnt work next morning 6AM. Called in, I was casually told to bring it back, maybe the socket has an issue. I am almost certain that if I had checked the headlights as soon as I took the car off the lot, I would have seen that the headlight is not working. The importance of customers time and excellence of service is missed in this shop. It is probably because they are too busy. Either way, if you go there, double check the service you got, and price you paid. I did get the car checked else where and it was the socket. Both the bulb and the socket were replaced to my satisfaction. Individual experiences may vary, but I had bad service twice. ===================== First Review (5 Month Ago) Although it is conveniently located and people are decent, but the professionalism and real customer care is completely lacking. I also feel that I got stuck, otherwise I would have gone some other place. The reason for my dissatisfaction is because I almost never got a straight answer. The car wasnt even touched for first two weeks, in which I was paying part of rental fee. I had to constantly call and get any update, which was usually another "call me on Monday, or Friday, or I am and such". I can understand a busy business, but I expect some straight answers with regards to time and services. Also paid for the inspection upfront, after the rest of the service. The inspection is still due. Went there, the answer again "Call me on such and such day and I will let you know if the inspection guy is in". I would have expected "Why dont you come in at this time on this day, since you already paid for the service". The convenience and price, needs to be carefully assessed for your particular case with respect to this service provider. Low rating to wake them up from their current practice.

Christmas, a couple of years back. My wife, newborn, and I were in New York visiting family. I cant remember what the issue was with our truck, but it was bad enough that I didnt feel like we could make the six hour trip back home to Virginia Beach. Forget about the fact that it was Christmas and that the Upper East Side isnt exactly teaming with repair shops. These guys were the only ones of almost a dozen spots in the yellow pages that even had a number that rang, let alone catch a voice at the other end. They fit me in on short notice, got me squared away, and even made me an offer on my truck if I were ever interested in selling. Standup guys. Standup shop.

I have been bringing my cars to Auto Care East for 20 years and have always been pleased with their service. When Ive had a mechanical problem, they gave me an estimate and a timeframe and have met both. Their work is guaranteed. I have not had to bring the car back for anything having to do with their repairs. When someone keyed the length of my car, I brought it for a "touch up". The paint was a perfect match to the manufacturers color. I am continuing to use Auto Care East and would highly recommend them to anyone needing car work.

Just out to make $$ off you. Called to have a part replaced, a simple installation of a radiator. Bought the brand new one at AutoZone and called for an appointment. They said they wouldnt do any type of repair unless THEY purchased the part. When asked for the cost of my radiator I was quoted a price of $210+ tax. I payed $101.99 from AutoZone. Theres a difference between trying to make a profit on a something and flat out screwing over the customer. Thanks for the help, Ill be sure to recommend you...

Subpar customer service. Brought my car in for insurance related repair and wanted to do some minor extra body work. Waited to get a price from one of the appraisers on the non-covered portion of repairs for a week, gave up and went somewhere else. Multiple phone calls were made to reach the guy and was given all kinds of excuses. I guess they arent interested in your business and as I result I am not interested in theirs. Fail.

i have been going here for at least 4 years. For a while i would always wonder, is this the time they are going to rip me off? i just got my price quote for brakes, tire rotation, oil change, inspection and i suddenly realized it did not even occur to me that they might rip me off. i am 53 years old and that has never ever happened to me before, huge. new lady at the front desk, the former receptionist was nice.

I was in an accident. It was my first time being in an accident, It was a very stressful situation. Allstate sent me to Auto Care East, In which they had my car towed, Emailed me all the insurance paperwork as well as they were able to do the estimate the very next day. They took care of everything as well as had my car looking brand new again in no time. Thanks again Auto Care East you guys ROCK !!!!

I had been taking my BMW to the dealer for service. I mentioned to a friend that I was tired of all the poor service and high prices at the BMW dealer. My friend recommended I try Auto Care East, so I took my car in and was very happy with the service I received. They ave me a written estimate. They used BMW parts but the bill was less than the dealership would have charged. Happy with that

I had no problem scheduling an appointment for my car to be inspected and serviced.. The garage was ready for the car when I delivered it and the car was ready for pickup when I was told that it would be. The bill was exactly what the estimate indicated that it would be. Most important, my wife and I were treated courteously by everyone at the garage with whom we interacted.

I just needed to get a car inspection for my new car so i didnt need the emissions testing. These guys did the testing quickly and just charged me the ten dollars for the safety inspection. When i called uptown motors the guy said its 37$ even after i told him i just need safety, maybe he didnt understand over the phone, anyways i just went to auto care east and no issues.

Amazing service, especially for auto repair shop in New York City! Very friendly, great communication, professional. Repairs were done quickly and with the highest quality! They took care of all the insurance paperwork - I just had to settle the deductible. They also performed NY State inspection at the same time as the repairs, saving me time. Highly recommend!

Auto Care has performed some state inspections for me. I was always happy with the service. When my car needed some service I decided to use them instead of my lexus dealer. I was very happy and I was happy to not have to go to the lexus dealer! I’ll continue using Auto Care instead of the dealer for all my inspections and repairs!
