Visiting the area on a Saturday, car started losing power. Drove into J and J where the owner, Jim, diagnosed teh problem without even looking at the car. Said he was sure it was the catalytic converter and we would have to leave the car until Monday and he would arrange for a rental. We asked if he would take a look at the car to make a brief assessment. He took a less than one minute look and said that he could not diagnose till monday but that it was one of several things, and it looked like a $1,500 job. When we said that we would try to make it home, he stated that there were no other car mechanics for 15 miles, we would never make it that far and warned us that we could end up on the nightly news if we broke down ( two women alone). Did not feel comfortable with his pushiness, drove off and found that another station was three minutes down the road. They checked out the car, 1 hour later they were able to tell us it was a minor job and $250. later we were driving away. Car runs fine. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I had a completely different experience to the previous reviewer. I found the employees at J and J to be enormously helpful and forthcoming with advice as well as info that was directed toward sound decisions, and not upping the price of the repairs to their benefit. I found myself having to make difficult decisions about the repair of an ailing car, and everyone I dealt with at the shop showed a great deal of patience. Beyond their helpful approach, they do great work.

They always take the time to explain the work theyre going to do and answer any questions. I go here for everything from oil changes to body work. Always fair, always pleasant, always reasonable. Jamie especially has made my experiences easy and comfortable! Even one Monday morning when my battery died on the side of the Taconic, they made sure to fit me in, help me out and provide lots of coffee. I cant recommend them highly enough

Ive brought several family cars to J&J for simple oil changes and annual inspections to complicated air suspension system repair on an S500 Mercedes Benz. All my experiences were first rate. Service was completed on time and within estimated costs. An excellent service provider.

Really nice guys but I tried to simply ask when I can come in for repairs and they told me to call the next day when they arent as busy with a tone of annoyance. I felt like, I wasnt being prioritized as a customer and I probably wont be back.
