Read this whole review if you are thinking about bringing your car to Holy Land. I live in Providence, and my car broke down in Manhattan in July. I was staying in Brooklyn, know a mechanic there and had my car towed there on a Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning he suggested I bring it across the street to Holy Land Auto Repair because they had more lifts available and have a good relationship, which I did. I needed a serpentine belt and tensioner assembly. When Joe, the manager, called the nearest Saab dealer they wanted $650 for parts and said they had to come from Sweden and it would take five days. Joe let me use the phone and internet in his office and I was able to locate parts for $250 that would be there the next morning. I left around 1, returned the next day after the car was repair to pick it up. Holy Land is a very busy place, yet Joe went out of his way to get me out of there asap when he really didnt have to. Neither did he need to let me get my own parts, which cost him a parts commission. I was very happy. But the story is not over. Two months later I got a notice from the city of New York notifying me of a parking ticket for $115 for parking on a sidewalk. The date and time was that Wednesday at around 3:30, and the address was next door to Holyland. I disputed the ticket, giving evidence that the car was not in my control at the time. NYC really doesnt care, and I received a denial of my appeal. I called Holy Land today, talked to Joe and explained the situation. He did not know of the ticket, either, but since the address on the ticket was next door to him where he puts cars to repair, he told me he would pay the ticket. So while I was very happy to recommend Holy Land before, I can add that not only are they fast and do good work, they are honest as well. Thats hard enough to find in your own home town, let alone while you are stranded on the road. I couldnt recommend Holy Land more. PS: A check from Holy Land arrived two days after I called Holy Land.

I chose Holy Land after cross checking their reviews through Yelp, Google, and Car Talk. With universally positive reviews, I figured it was worth trying out. They didnt disappoint. I brought my car in to have it looked at after my Check Engine light appeared and disappeared twice. The head mechanic thought it was probably nothing major since it went away on its own but they hooked it up to the computer and it turns out I need a new ignition coil. This diagnosis lined up with some symptoms I hadnt even told them about (some occasional difficulties starting the car and intermittent engine stutters) so I figured I could trust them. The final price was very reasonable (I priced the part with the uber-sketchy Bay Ridge Toyota and the part alone cost what Holy Land charged me for the part AND labor), and they got it done right away.I even gave them an opening to try to sell me on extra work ("can you make sure all of my fluids are good?") but they simply checked and said I was in good shape. This is in stark contrast to Bay Ridge Toyota which just a few months earlier had tried to convince me I need to do full system flush for $250 or risk catastrophe. Im definitely coming back to these guys and will recommend them to friends.

My cars belts were about to break. I also needed an oil change. I called for a quote, the guy told me $130 total (parts+labor) for the belts, and $25 for the oil change; which I thought was reasonable. I ask if I could set an appointment for Saturday, they told me to bring the car anytime; I didnt need an appointment. I arrived Saturday morning at 9:30am, they had between 5 and 8 other cars lined up they had to work on. They told me to bring the car inside the shop; by 9:40am they called someone to deliver the belts. By 9:50am the belts were already in the shop, and someone was working on the car. The guy working on my car was very friendly, he explained to me everything I asked him, and also checked that all the major things were OK with the car (brakes, tires, etc). By 10:45am the new belts were installed and the oil had been changed. When I went to pay, I asked for the total price: $150+tax = $163. No hidden fees or charges, they actually rounded the price down $5 from what they had told me on the phone a few days before. At 11:00am I was on my way home. Car running perfectly ever since. You wont find better service, prices, and honest people anywhere in NYC.

OMG, I had the best experience at Holy Land. Joe was professional, honest. courteous and patient. He was a pleasure to work with. My neice totaled my moms car and I was thoroughly upset. I negotiated the storage fees with Joe because I realized the insurance inspection would take too long. He was flexible and understood my situation and worked with me. When I finally got the car donation company to pick up the car, although it was two days later than when I was supposed to have it removed from his premises, he did not charge me any additional fees. He understood and wished me well. Again, although I didnt have any service performed at his shop, I would highly recommend him as his professionalism, friendly and honest demeanor spoke volumes.

THESE GUYS LIVE UP TO THEIR NAME. I had a bad alternator on a Saturday afternoon and was not looking forward to what appeared to be my only option through AAA - getting towed to Manhattan and waiting until Monday for a repair. These guys came and found me on a side street, rigged up a portable battery charger and I was able to drive to their station for a new alternator which they completed in a few hours. It was a little bit of a wild ride driving through Brooklyn with the hood partially up and a big charger sitting on the engine with leads attached to the battery, street fairs going on, speed bumps, etc., but it was worth it. It was a life saver since I live a distance away and had a child at home alone.

I had a transmission leak and, i didnt want to go to any old mechanic repair shop. I looked up top rated repair shops in Brooklyn and, this was the 1st result. After reading the reviews i decided to bring my Nissan Altima over to them. The service was great. I explained the problem and, he looked and, confirmed what was a leak from the transmission near the radiator line. Easy fix. 1 1/2 hours later my car was fixed and, it hasnt leaked since. The price of the repair was not to bad. It was affordable. Will come back for all repair needs.

Amazing service. After being told by four other area garages that they did not have time to do my vehicle inspection I just happened to drive by this garage. I stopped in and asked them if they could do it and even though they looked pretty full they agreed. Within less than an hour the car was inspected and ready to go. Abdul was super friendly and made the whole experience a seamless one for me. Ill be back again. Highly recommend!
