It was the saturday before Christmas, I had order a new stove for my mom but upon delivery they found out she needed a gas valve install behind the stove. After several attempts I was unable to find a plumbing service to came the same day or before Christmas. I did not want to contact this particular roto-rooter because of a previous bad review, but thought one persons bad experience may not mean that I will have a bad experience. I called them between 11:30am and 12noon, to my surprise the lady was very courteous and assured me that a tech could come to moms house the same day between 2-5pm. I was very relief to hear that. I made sure I was home by 2. Around, 4:30 a male dispatcher called me and told me the tech is on a job in New City and should be on his way soon...great news...5:30pm I called RR and was told the tech is still in New City give him about 20mins. 6:10pm I called back and was told the tech is still in New City and that he had another job in Nanuet, at this point I was frustrated and thought I should rescheduled but the dispatcher reassured me that the tech will be there and that the Nanuet job is an easy job and should be fast. 10 mins later the dispatcher calls me back and told me the tech should be there between 7:30 and 8:00pm. I explained to him that I had dinner plans at 7:30 and no one maybe home, he suggested that I rescheduled. I decided that I have waited most of the day and part of the evening, I can wait another hour. 8pm no tech...9pm no tech...9:15pm the tech shows up, looking extremely tired and disheveled. Since I still needed his services I explained to him that we need a gas valve install. He told me he needed to go to his truck to look up how much for this job. I observed him sitting in his truck flipping trough a very thick book. 20mins later 9:40pm he comes back and told me $345 plus he is not even sure that he has the valve in his truck. Angry and in disbelief that people could waste your time and try to rip you off, I stayed calm and said thank you but no thank you and good bye. If you have made it to the end of this, heed me, one, two consumers bad experience may very well make you the third one.

I scheduled an appt days in advance with the office in Westchester NY . The evening of my appointment I was asked to reschedule because they were too busy.I rescheduled for two days later. The tech comes to my house after the scheduled appt. time. Hes dressed in jeans and a white t shirt, sneakers and looked like he hadnt shaved/showered in days. He spent more time watching my TV and chatting then doing the job he came to do. He then claimed he didnt have the parts he needed and left for an hour and a half to Home Depot. When he came back, he continued to watch my TV, took his time, and left me his business card so I could call him if I was interested in a date. He installed a new kitchen sink. When does RR not stock in the truck basic plumbing items? The tech was unprofessional from start to finish, and when he finally left, my new sink leaked. I spent half my weekend waiting for the plumber to arrive, paid a very large bill, and recieved very unprofessional service. I will never use RR again.

We called Roto-Rooter for an emergency plumbing service over the weekend - given that it was a Saturday afternoon, it was completely understandable that they said their emergency schedule was completely full and they couldnt come until the next day. We hesitantly scheduled our urgent request for the next day, then settled in to try to keep the problem from getting worse until then. The next day, we waited. And waited. And waited. We were told that we would receive service between 10am and 5pm Sunday, and received a text letting us know that the plumber would be on-site within an hours time. Three hours later, having heard nothing from the technician or main office, we called AGAIN, only to be told that there would be no plumber coming - and they were pushing our job off until Monday. We called another plumbing company and someone arrived within two hours to fix our issue. Dont even bother calling this place.
