I was very happy with work that Hillcrest had done for me in the past (10+ yrs ago), so I brought my car back there for some minor cosmetic repairs. Again, I was happy with the work that was done (its just that not everything I arranged for was done), but not at all with the customer service! I had them give me two estimates - one that would be sent through my insurance, and one that would be paid out of my pocket. I was very clear that I wanted both repairs done, and the person I talked to understood, because he said he would have to use two different work orders. I arranged to have the repairs done while I was going to be out of town so that I would not have to bother with a rental car. I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and told them that I would pick it up on Friday when I was back in town. They called on Wednesday to say my car was ready, and I reminded them that I was out of town and would pick it up on Friday. They said they would make a note. When I showed up on Friday, the receptionist said she would be right with me, because there was someone ahead of me who was just sitting down waiting. So I sat down to wait for that person to finish. Meantime, someone else walked in the door and the receptionist took her ahead of me. I was not happy about that. Then I told her I would like to see my car before I signed the papers and paid. She rather curtly told me to step outside the door to my right and look. My car was not there. It took them a while to figure out that it was still in the cage and then bring it around for me to see (I told them I would pick it up on Friday, and it was 4:15pm, so why hadnt they already brought it out?). When I looked, I saw that only one of the two repairs was done (the one that was going through insurance). I went back inside and reported this, and got a smug "Were they supposed to do a second repair? Because I only see one here." I explained that yes, they WERE supposed to do two repairs, I had two estimates, but one was through insurance and one was not. I got a rather insincere apology and a promise that the gentleman I initially worked with would call me on Monday. Its now Tuesday and Im still waiting for that call. It doesnt seem to me that they have any interest in making this situation right or even appeasing me, and they definitely have communication breakdowns in that office. Due to this, I would not recommend them to anyone else, as I have done so often in the past.

This was the worst car experience Ive ever had and I would strongly encourage people to go elsewhere because these people are incapable of working at an auto body shop. Absolutely terrible customer service. I had gotten into a fender bender however my car was incapable of being driven. I brought it there to get fixed and they ended up having my car for almost 2 months! They ordered the wrong parts at first and then also didnt realize they needed additional parts until they had the car for 3 weeks already. I was given 4-5 estimated dates none of which were accurate. Insurance only covered a month of a rental car which I had to pay an additional 2 weeks since they had my car for over that time (which is ridiculous). I figured since they were responsible for me having to pay so much towards the rental car, that they would have done something. I shouldnt have had to pay so much when I got the car due to the fact that it was there fault I had to pay so much for the rental car. I spoke with the manager who did absolute nothing, he was condescending and kept trying to put the blame on someone else. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Worst experience ever.

I recently went to Carstar in Vestal, NY after concrete fell on my new car as I was driving under a bridge where there was construction....it was all over my car and I thought for sure it would need to be repainted (in fact the company told me that they in fact paid out thousands on many claims from that day) Instead of giving me this outrageously expensive estimate (like others got that day from other places) they used this special detergent and spent a good amount of time washing it and buffing it out and got it all off and DID NOT CHARGE me!!!! Need I say more? A sense of integrity and extreme courtesy goes a long way with me.....I will DEF. go back if I ever need to.....and will recommend them to all my friends and family. Wonderful experience and how often do we get one like this? Thank you Carstar!!!

We went to have my wifes cars damage assessment with Geico the assessment went great. But have had two seprate family members that have both had poor results with this location car star, and had to return for rework. I could see that they are way to overwhelmed just by entering the waiting room and observing the amount of multitasking that was being done. But I have personally had great results with the front street Binghamton location and Owego location in the past. (Much smaller facilities,) So I opted to have the repairs done at the Owego location.

From reading these reviews youd think theyre great. I must be the only one that had a bad experience there. I took my brand new Dodge Charger there for an extensive repair. When I picked it up it had tools left in my back seat, razor blades in my cup holders, parts left on the plenum and my sun visors where on the wrong sides. There is more but, I think you got the picture. Good luck

They made my BMW look brand new again. AMAZING guys over there, done in a timely fashion. A shout out to Bill Bouyea (adjuster). Hes one of the coolest and nicest guys youll ever meet. I cant say enough good things. Bill takes care of me like Im family. A++++++

Ive had 2 cars repaired here with no complaints. They do excellent work, and handle everything for you, from calling for a rental, to text updates as your vehicle is fixed.
