Unbiased opinion on the good and bad. On my way back home from Arkansas I stopped in on a Saturday because they stay open until 12 which is awesome. When I made the comment that I didnt know of many boxes that stay open that late, the coach/owner responded with "to be the best you have to put in the work". TRUE STORY. THAT is the attitude I love to hear when I visit a box. I come from a fairly large box and let me tell you this facility is plenty big. There is room to workout and not be clustered, the layout is perfect, and there is certainly no shortage of equipment. A huge plus for me as well is they actually have "Assault Bikes" instead of "Airdynes". The bad, there really isnt any unless you start nit picking. So if I was to nit pick there are two minor things. For example, the entire time I was there I was left to myself to workout (which I am fine with, I do it all the time). None of the regular members came up, introduce themselves, said hey, etc. NOW, dont get me wrong, that responsibility does not entirely fall on them because it works both ways and I didnt bother going up to them either. I am very shy and stay to myself. So I dont really blame them one bit. Like I said, this is just nit picking. The only other thing I would say is the drop-in fee. Around where I live, we do not charge a drop in fee if you are a coach (and we can verify it), owner of a CrossFit box, or military (active or veteran). I know a lot of boxes charge a drop in fee regardless of who you are and I understand why so I have no problem with it, I just wish a lot more boxes would do what we do. CrossFit as a community is still fairly small and coaches are even smaller. Its just a kind gesture we try to do for them when they stop in as a way to show our appreciation for what they do and plus it allows us to network. Just my opinion though. That is not a reflection of who they are. 98% of boxes charge a drop in. Again, those two things are nit picking. I dont hold any of that against them whatsoever. Observing everyone while working out I can tell they are a really fun, close community that anyone would be lucky to be apart of. I will DEFINATELY be making this a stopping point whenever I come through Asheville again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have been a member of Summit Crossfit for a little over a year. The friendly staff does a great job of keeping the workouts accessible to all ages and skill levels (everything can be scaled, whether modifying the weight or the actual movement) but challenging enough to give you a good workout. They pay attention to every individual to ensure that everyone knows what they are doing, are performing the movement correctly, and that anyone with prior injuries or physical restrictions knows how to modify their workout to fit their abilities. The large building means that you dont have to worry about the classes filling up; at other gyms, if you dont sign in early enough, you might not be able to attend the class of your choice. Summit has quality equipment and a good variety of it. The members themselves are friendly and hardworking; there are no gigantic egos to ruin the positive environment. I would highly recommend Summit to anyone wanting to get in better shape. Contact the staff if you are visiting and would like to drop in for a workout or two; we love new faces!

What makes Summit CrossFit such an awesome Box are the coaches and the fellow athletes. I love the fact that this place actually caters to everyone, making accommodations where needed for those of us who arent quite sure what were doing, or arent yet strong enough or skilled enough to do the moves at full strength. Every move is broken down into bite-sized components, and reasons are given for doing the moves in a given fashion. The coaches keep a close eye on everyone, and we all cheer everyone on. Its the most inclusive place Ive ever been, either inside or outside of a fitness facility. Every body type, fitness level, age, gender, ability, skill level is welcome, and feels important, because to the coaches and to the other students, they are.
