I went in with a friend who had a monitor he had just bought "used" from a nearby thrift store without a power supply. The monitor called for an 19 volt power supply in order to function properly. We had looked in the thrift store to see if we could find a power supply that would work with the monitor, unfortunately all the cords were 12 volt and would leave the monitor blinking white and struggle to stay on. I came into the store with high hopes of buying a 19v power supply (which to a store who sells computer parts should be a dime a dozen.) I asked "Would you mind testing this monitor with a 19v power supply in order to see if it works." He ,without saying a word, took the monitor begrudgingly and put it on a nearby table. He acted as if it was a hindrance to him that i had asked a simple favor and possibly give him some business. He grabbed the nearest power supply on the table without checking the voltage plugged it in and turned it on. It began blinking white and struggling to turn on like it was with the aforementioned 12v power supplies. He said "There you go." with no other communication. I asked "what do yo" I was then rudely cut off with a "Its a capacitor problem, the motherboard is fried." Disheartened because i had dealt with capacitor issues before (very tedious task) I responded "agh.. you think so?" not sarcastically or rude more as a instinctual response. He looked at me like i had insulted his intelligence and said "I Know SO." At this point I had realized the past times I had came into the store he was always acting as if I was a bother to him. Like I was annoying him. My friend later told me that every time he had been in the store he was treated very rudely. He told me that he could fix it, and at that point I kinda was just dumbfounded by how my friend and I were treated as customers. We said thank you and took the monitor and left. I went to my house and told my friend i would open the monitor up and see if anything was out of place.(Newsflash nothing was broken or burnt on the board) I did some digging in the back of my closet to see if i just so happened to have a 19V power supply. which i did. I plugged the monitor in and BAM crystal clear. no issues at all. This tells me he was lazy and didnt want to actually check the voltage and possibly get some business. So he just plugged in a random 12v plug without looking. So far what i have gathered from this "business" from past experiences and this experience is that you will be treated as if you know nothing. you will be treated as an annoyance and the clerk is lazy enough to make a mistake and tell you he knows the problem instantly. If i were you I would advise either A. Calling a real professional or B. looking up an online tutorial on how to fix your broken electronics yourself. It is not worth putting yourself through being treated like a annoyance when you are trying to be a customer.

I called APT this morning and asked if they could update my computer from Vista to Windows 7. They said "bring it in." 5 hours later they had updated it, changed the battery and cleaned it for $180.00. Far cry from Heartware Computers in Swannanoa. He kept my computer for 3 days and would have been longer if I did not wake him from his afternoon nap and and asked about it. $250.00 later, my computer continued with its issues with little resolve. All he had to do was update it but chose to do nothing. Thank you APT for a job well done at a fraction of the time. I highly recommend APT for their knowledge, service and price..
