Have previously given them a 5 star review. I had an I phone screen replaced by them over a year ago and they were excellent. Recently though because I had such a good experience with them I took in my sons laptop in for repair. In the stores defense, the laptop had been dropped previously with obvious damage and had recently gotten to where we were unable to turn on the computer at all and I suspected a motherboard failure. I am however very disappointed in the customer service this time. I dropped it off on a Friday and they said they would call me on Monday and let me know what they find. No call. I waited because they are very busy and I would expect phone repairs to be more of a priority than a questionable laptop fix. I called and was told a story of "trying different things but no luck so far. I have a few more things to try and will call you". Not that I totally dont believe them but I have worked in a repair shop and know the lingo used when they havent looked at it yet and unlike most customers, I would rather you just tell me you havent had time yet. I waited, then I waited some more. I finally called them again and the very pleasant gentleman told me that he was going to switch out some parts with a computer he had there and call me the next day. No call. I have no complaints about the repairs that I have had done and they are very pleasant to deal with. I would not be upset if my laptop cannot be fixed either as in my mind it was a shot in the dark that maybe they could fix it. I certainly wouldnt have let anyone else mess with it. I am however disappointed this time regarding the communication. I would still definitely recommend them. Excellent phone repair service and tablet service. UPDATE: So I did get the laptop back and the gentleman was excellent in explaining the repair process. He had to actually switch the insides of my computer and give it a whole new housing. Virtually I ended up with a new used computer with all my information on it for less than $150. They apologized for the delay. I got the computer home and part of the keyboard wouldnt work. I called them and they replaced it with a new keyboard free of charge and with courteous service within 30 minutes. You cant ask for anything more than that. I knew they were the ones to go to and aside from a small hiccup in communication the outcome is terrific!! Thank you Gadgets Repair.

(EDIT: While setting up my new-to-me hand me down phone, I got just the right angle and coloration on the screen to see that it isnt just a line. Its a crack. And it isnt just the small one I thought it was. It goes completely across the screen. That isnt an issue with "corrosion", thats an issue with work quality. I no longer feel even remotely bad about leaving this review.) Went in to order a new phone screen to replace my cracked one. They said they would call when it came in, but didnt; I had to go in and ask them about it. Dropped off the phone to get it repaired when I found out they had the screen. Again, they said they would call when it was done; they never called, I had to go in and ask them about it. In fact, the only phone call I ever received was them informing me that they had found some corrosion damage, so they would not insure their screen replacement. Fair enough, I thought. I guess that makes a little bit of sense, although I couldnt imagine how the tiny bit of corrosion that I found upon getting it home would have ever affected a screen, and it seemed to me the height of unprofessionalism to replace the screen without doing anything to ensure that it would then actually work, so clearly they wouldnt have done that, right? I should have been tipped off when the phones back panel wasnt even properly reattached, but I had to get to work and was in a hurry. Anyways, I get it home after paying and within a day or two, the screen starts malfunctioning. An entire corner was dead (it has since increased to the entire top fourth of the screen or so) and there is some sort of defect in the screen installation that causes any touch on that entire area (a line that stretches almost halfway across the screen, right about in the middle of the phone) to immediately send the phone into some sort of feedback loop where it acts as if someone is constantly swiping in random directions and clicking on things. It makes the phone unusable. But thanks to their helpful policy of not caring about their work product since "they warned me", I cant do anything but leave this review here, and Im now stuck with a brick that I paid them a hundred dollars for. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially when the majority of other people seem to have excellent experiences, but my entire experience was unprofessional from start to finish and I wouldnt go back if you paid me.

"F" RATED WITH THE BBB- BEWARE! I read a few bad reviews online before bringing my tablet in for repair. I thought they were just a few scorned customers, so desperately and regretfully went in... I had left my Samsung Tab 4 tablet on the roof of my car and drove off. Needless to say it was in horrible shape. When I entered the store I thought it honestly looked like a tech chop shop. But again, desperate to fix my new tablet I stayed. The "manager" told me it would be $99.00 plus $8.00 to overnight the new glass screen. He advised me to get a case for it, like an otter box, because I only had a portfolio case. Mind you, he sells no cases for the Samsung tablet. He also indicated that IF YOU GIVE A GOOD YELP REVIEW YOU GET 5% OFF. Why would I do this before even seeing my finished product? I believe this is a main reason for the 4 star reviews on yelp. THREE days later I took the tablet out of my bag and the entire glass screen just fell off. Literally, fell off. I was annoyed but wasnt worried because I had the 30 day "Warranty". I called the shop, and the young girl who answered the phone was so rude I could hardly believe it. She told me that the screen falling out was "impossible" that they use " industrial strength glue" to hold the screen in. She was giving me attitude like I was trying to pull a fast one on her. I went in and the manager was there. With my warranty and receipt in hand I told him the issue. He said "Oh, you broke it.". I was stunned. He then told me my warranty was void because it was MY FAULT for not getting a case for it. He NEVER ONCE mentioned this to me when repairing my screen the first time. If he did I obviously would have bought a stronger case! (Not from him since they only carry older products) He asked me what I paid for my previous repair, then quoted me $70.00 to replace it. I walked out. Needless to say this was and is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They are rude, disrespectful, and have no consideration for their customers. THEY ARE A SCAM. DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE!!! Dont look past the 1 star reviews like I did! *Im sure the "manager" will reply (like I see on all bad reviews) and try to do damage control, but Ive already reported to the BBB and Bay News 9. Shame on you!
