I have been dancing at studios and ballet schools since i was 3. When i am not rehearsing i need to keep myself active and this studio was recomended to me by a teacher i know there. unfortunately when i got there i was told i cannot attend the class because all the classes are only for the students that have payed for the whole semester. I even told the person at the front desk i brought the drop in fee and i was told to come here by the teacher and try out the class. I was still told drop-ins are not allowed and had no choice but to leave. I wanted to at least watch my friends class since i was there, and i was also given an excuse that made no sense as to why i could be inside the classroom watching!???? I dont really understand why a studio would want to make people feel so unwelcome, especially when their main focus is anyone can come dance at their studio??? I kind of got the impression the person running the studio could not tell you the first thing about dance...be careful with that. You never know when a random professional dancer can stop by your studio and want to take class. I am sure your students would be more than happy to meet one, let alone take class with one! Would you really turn them down??? If you would that is just sad! PS: I cant recomend anyone to your studio either because they have no way of trying out a class. I actually did tell someone to go try out a specific class and they were not alowed in the class that day, ever since then i havent recomend anyone.

I have taken three classes at this studio over the course of two years, the most recent of which was a class for preschool aged children this summer. During the course of the 12 week class, the instructor was absent twice and on two other occasions was very late - the first time 30 minutes, the second time about 20 minutes. I had to get off of work early each week to bring my child to the class and it is unacceptable to me that I paid for a service that did not consistently begin on time. There were substitutes in place for each of the absences, but clients were not notified in advance of the change and because each time was a different substitute instructor, the children were distracted and basically spent the entire time both classes adjusting to the new instructors. In my opinion, these were wasted classes, as were the two classes that were cut short because the instructor was considerably late. So, we paid for 12 classes but only 8 occurred as advertised. We had other minor concerns with the studio in general but these were the most frustrating. The instructor seemed unconcerned with the work schedules of a class full of parents, and when we brought our concerns to management about mid-way through the summer session, she seemed indifferent with the issue and has not offered to remedy the situation through a refund or make-up sessions. In summary, I am very unsatisfied with our experience at 9th Street Dance and we will not be returning. Very poor experience.

Ninth Street Dance is great for anyone who is looking to get back into dance, try a new style, or even start dancing for the first time. The teachers create a very welcoming atmosphere where students feel comfortable learning. As a person who works full time, their schedule is extremely convenient and they have a variety of classes. Also, if you ever have to miss a class, you can make it up in any other style which is a great chance to try something new. Their studios are also air conditioned which is nice, especially in the summer. There are dancers of all ages and experience levels which creates a vibrant community.

Ive been dancing for years and was thrilled to find this studio. Its low key, and the classes have been at convenient times. They offer lots and lots of different classes. Everyone has been really nice, and no one is snobby about body size. Sure the studio is a little small - but welcome to the dance world! If they had a huge studio, I probably wouldnt be able to afford classes! Prices are on the low end for dance classes, but my teacher is very knowledgeable and helpful. Try it out for a great, low-key dance class!

Great experience for two of our young children. The dance classes for youngsters are low-pressure, and more concerned with getting the kids to have fun moving their bodies than prepare them for recitals.

The variety of classes is okay. Mostly a good place for adult beginners. The management could be more friendly to clients. But the tap classes with Whitney are phenomenal.
