This school is a wonderful experience for its students, no matter what their ages. The head of the school is dedicated to her dancers, from "pre-Irish" through adults. She teaches not just the steps, but a love of the Irish culture in general. Students also learn the discipline required to succeed in their dancing, be it solo or team. Friendships made here are made for life. The amount of time in class includes a very full warm-up - usually about 20 minutes - since Irish dance is a vigorous sport. This is considered a regular part of class time. There are some expenses involved with Irish dance, but the teachers and the Parents Assn work hard to keep costs under control. No one is getting rich off the school dresses! The class fees are reasonable and are pro-rated for the months that are shorter. I know that "Mia Smith" claims otherwise, but I think perhaps her math was off. In short, Inis Cairde is an excellent school for Irish dance, run by knowledgeable and caring people. I cant imagine any child not loving it.

Our family has been with Inis Cairde for more than seven years. My daughters have benefited physically from the joys of Irish Dance, but more importantly, socially as well. Meighan Carpenter, Inis Cairdes owner and ADCRG, has a strong belief in teamwork and the importance of being there for your friends and classmates. This philosophy is evident in all of the classes: both solo dancing, as well as ceili (team) dancing. My daughters have learned to be gracious in competition, as well as how to focus on a personal goal. You can enjoy Irish Dance with Inis Cairde if you are interested in dancing just for shows and at pubs or if you are interested in competition and travelling. I love how my children have grown through their experiences at Inis Cairde!

My daughter has danced for Inis Cairde for 13 years. I can safely say that it has had the most positive impact on her personal growth of anything shes ever done. She has gained self-confidence, built friendships, learned the importance of teamwork and developed a very healthy lifestyle (plus, its kept her too busy to have time for lots of other activities!) She has had excellent role models during her years - these kids excel not just at dance, but at school and in the community. She has gotten to travel quite a bit and looks forward to seeing friends shes made through dance at the competitions. If you have a child who is looking for a really unique experience - try Irish dance at Inis Cairde!

Going on our 4th year at Inis Cairde. It has been such a wonderful place for my dancer to discover her love of Irish Dance. Moving from the other world of competitive dance, it has been great to find an environment that challenges her yet does not push her too far too fast. As with any sport, injuries will happen. This is a school where your injured dancer is given time to recover. The owner and teachers want each dancer to be the best, and healthiest, they can be. We love that many of the older dancers, helpers or instructors are working on advanced degrees. Having women in Med School or working on PhDs in such fields as Mathematics or Biostatistics provide excellent role models for my daughter.

Started adult classes about 4 years ago with no previous Irish dance experience. Instructors Cara and Brita are very patient and encouraging, its a great workout, and fellow students are friendly. Also, punch cards mean you dont pay for classes you cant make because of other obligations (important to me as a busy adult). Overall, Im really glad to have found Inis Cairde to teach me Irish dance!

Great school. We have been with this school for many years and love Irish dance and our teacher. She has high expectations for her more experienced dancers, but also has the patience and generosity needed to develop beginners and younger students. The students at Inis Cairde love dance and love to perform and compete. Come see for yourself.
