I cant even give single star to this mover... Today (1/31/2017), we had a very bad experience with this mover. The same mover did the move for us on 12/5/2015 packing at my Greensboro NC home and 2 delivery locations one in Storage in Greensboro and other delivery location in Cary, NC. The overall weight was 5040 lbs. They charged us $1529 for this transaction. We thought going with same mover will get better customer service, apparently not. When we called them, they said since we are the repeat customer lets go with the same price like last time and the only difference was 2 pick up location (1 storage and other one from apartment in Cary NC) and move it to the recently bought house in Chapel Hill NC. They agreed when we spoke to them. Today MBM came to Greensboro storage and picked up the stuff and came to Cary to pick up the stuff in apartment. Before coming here they weigh the stuff in storage pickup and that was 2780 lbs... after they came down to Cary apartment, the whole episode started, now they want $3336, if I dont agree they will NOT pickup from my apartment and I had 2 choices given by the very rude sales guys (we had to call them to sort out things) 1. Going back to Greensboro storage and drop the stuff where they picked up...but I have to pay the labor charges... unfortunately We had to close the storage after pickup as we were moving. 2. Going to Chapel Hill NC and just drop the items that they picked from Greensboro storage and now I had to pay them $1238. No assembling anything... I had to forcefully choose the 2nd option by the rude Sales person Leslie and other guy from Greensboro NC MBM moving/American Vanlines and ended up paying $1238. Right now I am sitting in apartment in Cary to figure out how to move my stuff from apartment to Chapel Hill. Tomorrow I have to handover the keys to apartment office... I trusted this mover hoping better customer service being the repeat customer and what I got was unlimited pain and stress. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVER...

I was a bit nervous, I ll admit. I know that MBM pulled down 2.5 stars on Google and less on Yelp. But I choose them because no other mover tried to get my business as hard as MBM and no other was as professional in trying to get my business. And, they made me a better offer than any other mover. MBM let me place my own locks on the truck for storage. Other movers basically hung up on me when I said that I wanted my own locks on the truck. Also, to make things more unnerving, I changed the load and delivery dates 3 times. I just knew it was going to be all wrong. **Note: I only moved 5 miles but it had to be loaded at a certain time and delivered at a certain time. I also didnt want any hidden charges.** Per the above hidden charges, I had to ask and have them go down the list about specifics. The only one that applied to me was stairs and I think they cut the cost for me. The other that would have applied to me was TVs. I decided to pack and move it myself. On moving day Eric and his team of 2 other gents showed up. I told them that this really matters to me, as I am sure they knew, and they will be rewarded if it goes smoothly. We had everything packed and boxed. They tore down everything else, wrapped it and packed it like it was their own. This includes an 800 lb gun safe and a garage full of tools. We slept the night in a bare house, closed on that and the new home the next day before noon and the truck showed up on time at 1:30 to deliver out property. The movers made it so easy. They were gentlemen and handled everything well without bemoaning things like the gun safe or stairs. When it was all done there were 2 broken dishes and we are the ones who packed them. That"s it. I will say that I enjoyed working with Eric and his team much more than the office. But to me the men doing the work are really the driving force and because of them alone I would not hesitate to use MBM to move me again.

I wish there was a quality rating below Poor - Fair. I am moving 3 hours away. May 21st they loaded and delivery was set for May 23rd. May 22nd I get a call saying delivery is being moved to June 5th - within their 2 week window (keep in mind I am moving 3 hours away). Whatever though, I roll with it. June 4th comes and no call about time of delivery so I call my customer service representative, Deangelo Pinder (a completely useless person), and leave a voicemail for him. No response. Next morning (the delivery day) I call again and have to leave a voicemail. I do this 3 more times within the next few hours. Finally, I call their general customer service line and just happen to be connected to Deangelo. I ask him why he never returned any of my calls. He said he was too busy. What kind of customer service is that? Anyway, he looks up my delivery and says, "Oh, it just came across my email from dispatch this moment. Your delivery has been rescheduled for June 6th." GIVE ME A BREAK! I have made arrangements to accept delivery for the 5th and get no warning from MBM at all that they arent going to make my delivery. I ask Deangelo if I can speak to a manager and he says, "No." He said that he has requested a manager call me, but refuses to connect me to one. Can you believe that?!!! I pray I receive everything safely tomorrow, but who knows with this company. I will never use MBM Moving again and I strongly recommend everyone else avoid them as well. Pay a little more and go with a reputable, reliable company.

Every person I spoke to at MBM regarding our move was very customer oriented, courteous, and concerned about us having a great moving experience. The moving crew was fantastic. They all did their best to make sure our property was not damaged when packing, moving, and filling the moving van. They all were friendly, respectful, courteous, hard working, and answered questions without hesitation. There were no major glitches, except there was a discrepancy regarding the amount of boxes and types to be used once the crew arrived and we showed them what was to be packed for two different delivery locations and one other pickup location, plus additional charges for stairs. Once I contacted the MBM office to resolve the issue, we just had to pay for the extra boxes, which was fair. Also, the moving crew accidentally ripped our basement stairs awning, but we were able to work out a claim for them to pay for repair/replacement and to work directly with the new owners and the awning company who installed it. So far only one box did not make it to our temporary living apartment that apparently got put into our storage location by mistake, or it was mislabeled. Other than those two issues mentioned above, overall the company did a great job from administrative issues to actual pickup and delivery. I highly recommend this company. It is apparent hey really have customer satisfaction as a goal. I would like to give a 4.5 rating for the two issues I mentioned but, since that is not possible, I still give a 5.
