I moved into a new residence on Jan 17th. I have submitted four (4) change of address forms, three of which were hand delivered to a post office clerk, and the other I handed to my regular postal carrier at the new address. I also filled out the change of address form online, which cost $1.05. No biggie on the $1.05 but WHY did I even have to go that far? Im still not receiving my mail from my old address and everyone I talk to wants to point the finger at someone else! I happen to be outside today and I met the postal carrier at the mailbox only to receive a piece of junk mail, when I was expecting a package to be delivered. I once again checked the tracking info online and it said the package was out for delivery. Later this evening I checked it again and it states it was returned to the post office and is ready for "pick up". WTF????? Its a small package and will fit easily into the mailbox! AND it wouldve fit neatly into my hand had the carrier decided to give it to me today, WHILE I WAS STANDING AT THE MAILBOX WHEN HE DELIVERED MAIL TODAY!!! Years ago the US Postal Service implemented a policy rule that the carrier doesnt have to get out of their vehicle to deliver any parcel, letters, or packages if they dont want to. GOD forbid they have to assert themselves. They make pretty damn good money and they have a civic duty as a Federal employee to deliver everyones mail in a responsible, timely manner. Isnt that what theyre paid to do?! What about if we have a picket line in front of the slack US Postal locations and/or draw up a petition to have the carriers deliver mail the old fashioned way...make them get off their asses and walk the mail. Oh never mind, then wed never get our mail because 3/4 of the carriers would quit. Then they would end up being the ones writing negative reviews because they wouldnt be getting their unemployment checks! What the hell ever happened to customer service?! I guess that went out the window with when someone cared about whether they did a good job or not! Disgusting, absolutely disgusting!!!

Too bad I dont have an option to give zero stars!!! I found a note at my doorstep from USPS saying they couldnt deliver the letter without my signature. They said theyd schedule a re-delivery online or through a call IF I requested for that. Else, I was supposed to pick it up from the post office itself. I visited the post office in person (instead of scheduling a re-delivery) and presented the note. The lady at the counter goes in, takes ages and comes back saying "Its not in here. Must be on the delivery truck.." Me: But.. I didnt request a re-delivery.. What is the normal procedure if you miss a delivery? Her: The normal procedure is to leave it here at the post office, but they didnt do it. I dont know why. Its not here though and I cant bring it here if its not here.. You just have to wait for it. Me: Can you at least leave it at my doorstep? I can leave this slip here with my signature on it.. Her: No thats not possible today. Like I said, I cant bring it here if its not here! I cant do anything about it.. Crappiest customer service EVER! The employee didnt even offer an apology for a mistake on THEIR part, and was extremely rude in the way she talked! Acted like it was my fault that they lost the mail. And this isnt the first time either. The last time I was supposed to get a care package delivered, they delivered it to the wrong address and merely updated the status as "Delivered at doorstep". When I asked them for more information, they merely kept saying "It was delivered at your doorstep". Didnt help when I tried pointing out there were quite a few people home that day, and there was NO way they would have missed a knock on the door! Gonna make it a point to use UPS or FexEx from the next time even if its a few bucks more expensive.

This is the WORST, absolute WORST post office I have ever been in, PERIOD!!!! I get fired up every single time I go into this place. Here is my experience. I changed my address several months ago. About a month goes by and I notice Im not getting some bills I am expecting. I figure Ill give it a couple more weeks, maybe it was a delay with the change of address or something. What happened was these idiots put in the system a WRONG PO Box address and forwarded it to everywhere I received my mail from. I have two months of late bills .. over $200 in late fees. On top of that I had medication sent back to the sender and was out of medication for a week. This is very VERY serious. Someone up front and the manager needs to be fired!!!! I addressed this major problem to a post master and they take absolutely NO responsibility for this on top of they are not going to pay my late fees for my bills. Everyone there needs to be re trained on there already simple jobs or fired. When I was expressing my disapproval to an employee at the register at this post office I guess it was the shop manager that walked in through the front room and stared me down like he was going to ask me to leave the property. Not only did they seriously jack up but I felt unwelcome in a place where I pay to have what is now an unreliable service done. Also when they changed there address from Avant Ferry Road to the new location there way NO messages put in the PO Boxes informing anyone that there would be a change in there address ... just a sheet of paper on the front door. Take your business else where!!!

I mailed a package to Charleston, SC three weeks ago from this PO that has not been delivered yet. I went to the PO with my receipt and tracking information and ask to speak with the manager. I was told she was not in. The clerk said there was nothing she could do. I called Sherry McGowan of customer relations who will not be in til October 11th. Then I called the Raleigh Postmaster Linda Strongs office and was told shes not in. I asked for her voicemail and Yvette Baker, I guess her secretary became belligerent and crass, kick customer service right out the door! Its difficult for me to believe that in the 21th century the US Government has such an unprofessional individual representing the postmaster of Raleigh. She doesnt articulate very well and with an acute attitude she sarcastically replied: "Im the voicemail" what do you want?" SMH... this is unfortunate and very sad and qualifies the negative perception of this public organization. Obviously she doesnt have the skill set to interact with the general public in a professional polite manner and clearly should not be in that position representing the postmaster. My issue has still not been resolved and the package is still sitting at a facility in Washington DC. Id rather the USPS be privatized so professional quality customer service can be received by all. Im certainly going to write my congressman and senator. This is the 3rd time this has happened this year at this facility; its a pattern of incompetence. They deserve a -10 star rating. This agency needs a total re-hall.
