Went today to get an oil change, decided to get the $30 oil change where they inspect my car and look for other issues, tire pressure, etc. Being a young woman going to college, I probably look pretty vulnerable to these mechanics. They take me out and show me my cabin air filter, dirty and full of leaves, I agree that it needs changing and they tell me the price. They warn me how "expensive" the air filter is, showing a price about $34 PLUS $20 to install. A quick search on the autozone website shows that the product is only $10. I immediately tell them to stop the install, which 15 minutes later they hadnt even started, and told them I had found it for much cheaper. The guy looked pissed, and told me I could go get it and they would install it. I agreed, since I figured I couldnt do it myself, even though he told me it only took about 4 screws to install. After purchasing the filter, I look at the instructions and realize how EASY the install is. I agree to let them do it for the sake of time, since it took 2+ hours to get all this figured out when all I wanted was a simple oil change. I hand the front desk man the filter with the big ole $9.99 sticker on it, hoping hes embarrassed for warning me how "expensive" these filters are. The guy doesnt say a word, gives the filter to the mechanic, and I watch him change it, IN THE PARKING LOT, and it took from 1:30- 1:33. I got charge $20 for 3 minutes of labor. Wow must be nice, seeing as its a week before Christmas and Im a broke college student and they were trying to charge me $85+ for two SIMPLE and inexpensive repairs. Not only that, but as I wait to pay for my repairs, which still ended up being over $50, there is another young male who came in for their $21 dollar oil change, but seemed to also be charged for a new oil filter. He tells the man that he had brought his own to use, and even mentioned it to the mechanic/other front desk guy. He replies that they used all their own products. The young man is clearly upset, states not to even worry about it because he had been there for over an hour. Gets charged over $30 for his $21 oil change. I will NEVER return. Im sure Ive been cheated by mechanics in the past, but this is just belligerent. I guess part of their job description must include "ripping people off and being okay with it". I could have done it all myself for $10 and about 15 minutes of time. Dont recommend unless you know what youre getting done and the price, and if you do go there, check autozone prices before agreeing to their prices for parts! Im not as dumb as I look men at Precision Tune Auto Care, my dad worked on air planes in the air force and fixes stuff like this for me all the time, youre just lucky hes 200 miles away right now or you wouldnt have gotten a dime. Edit- They contacted me about this post, and offered me a free oil change. They said in relation to the 250% markup on the air filter they "are a business" and "need to stay in business". Well, if the product was at a price that was at least somewhat close to market price I would understand that, if it was a competitive price of $15-$20. If this company wants to be seen as "honest mechanics" then these large markups arent going to work in their favor. Ill give them another star for somewhat trying to fix the issue. Im not here to tell anyone how to do business, just that I dont agree with the way they do business, and I do think they rip people off. As for the labor, yeah paying $20 for 3 minutes of labor was definitely insane, but now I can get a free oil change in return so I guess that can be forgiven.

AvOID AT ALL COSTS...........When they rip you off and scam you........because they will.....got straight to the BBB and Attorney General and file a complaint.... and then march right on over to the NH Courts and file a warrant in debt, trust me it will be the best $35.00 that you ever spend. Dont bother with their bs.....customer service "Dream Team of Morons" in Raleigh, because of course youll be referred there because the shop will pass the buck to "Corporate" in Raleigh, who is comprised of "Ronnie" who is supposed to be option #1 for complaints.....however that box must never get out of the overload mode, because Ronnie never answers it or returns messages from it. Amazingly, if you press option #2, #3, #4, or the toilet scrubber extention "Ronnie" answers.........who then between mouth fulls of chewing and such says......you guessed it...."You need to speak to the Area Manager Kevin" Well, after waiting for return calls for over a month I assumed that 1. this "Kevin" character is one busy guy......due to Precisions sheister job performances, that seemed to be a reasonable assumption or 2. Perhaps hes the Area Manager in South Pac Asia or something, so I moved it up a notch to Corporate in Leesburg Va......Who then informed me that "Kevin is the Marketing Manager for Va" and the rude and unhelpful woman asked how I thought that he was going to be able to help me? Are you kidding?........Well, thanks Einstein......obviously, I wasnt looking to rent a punch bowl or score a free hoodie or anything of the sort, I was hoping for some level of professionalism for starters or perhaps..........the magical answer? someone to refund my money so the right part could be replaced, mind you in the mean time not only did Toyota, but Midas right around the corner( both after running their own diagnostic test and having my "broken part" that I paid to have replaced tested to find out its a perfectly good part) offer to repair the correct part at a reduced cost. Midas even did the diagnostic for free! While I was waiting to have the car re- diagnosed, I was informed that the Blonde Manager from Precision had been in discussions with the management at Midas in regards to a job! Ugh......Please do yourself a favor dont hire him.....keep them all over there! See you in court Precision.

First time was good. Second time dealt with Will. He was unpleasant to the point that when he incorrectly said my AC problem was the blower, I was unable to correct him and had to wait till the next time. It took 3 1/2 hours when I was the fifth person in line at the door before they opened and I was told two hours, I asked them to check the breaks and discovered they didnt when they nearly went out the next day, skipped work to drop it off, was told yes go back to work and we will call with an estimate, pay for a taxi to my job and twenty minutes later receive a call from will that my car wont start. It has a security feature. "Yes yes we know about that my guy and I have tried it twenty times it wont turn over maybe the starter." Now my car has never had even an indication of an issue starting up, and due to how unpleasant Will is, I had a horrible, sinking feeling I was being raked. I left work in a hurry and told my supervisor ID be taking the day off, another $15 taxi ride, and my car starts right up when I get to precision. "Sorry about that" so I wait for another two hours, get to see a woman who came in after me get her oil change comp-ed due to the wait, and then pay $300 to replace the main break cylinder. Was it probably just air in the lines? Maybe. Did I pay them an extra almost $100 to redo my freon and use a special oil that glows under blacklight to show a leak? No I did not. I will be doing the freon myself, I doubt it has a leak, and I will not be going back to precision. They horribly inconvenienced me, I do not trust them, and Will was rude and Im a very nice, respectful person. Im sad that I was treated that way. At the very least it was incompetence but Im a single mom with no child support and no govt support, and if any of the 630+ dollars they wrung out of me in two days was unnecessarily spent, I hope they know they took it from my 14 month old daughter.
