I recently purchased new rims for a car I purchased that came with hubcaps. I called around to get quotes from about 5 tire shops in town, and they came in about 20 to 30 dollars cheaper. Having heard mixed reviews, I made an appointment for the next day. I dropped off the car about 15 mins before my appointment, and was planning to wait for it. They managed to fit it in about ten mins early. I had a seat in the waiting room, which wasnt bad for a tire shop. Comfy enough chairs, tv on, water and coffee. They offered free wifi, but my company laptop was restricted form being redirected to the login page to accept the terms. The only thing that caught me by surprise was the complimentary check over of the car. You never expect to see the hood come up when getting tires swapped. They did the basic fluid checks, and tested the battery and a full light check. The part that I liked was they didnt try to sell me on anything they found. They just informed me a license plate light was out, but never tried to sell me a bulb or anything like other places in town do. They kept me informed along the way, such as when the rims I purchased were too big around the half shaft crown nut. They had me come look, and asked if the place I purchased from offered or suggested centering rings. About that time, they opened the last rim box, and there was the set of rings! The tech made sure the clearances were correct on the new rims before dismounting the tires on the old wheels. One thing I noticed about him was how organized he was. He dismounted all of the tires, and set the old rims in one area, the tires neatly stacked by the machine, and attached a hubcap to each rim for safekeeping. He even wrapped them each in a bag and the old lug nuts in a bag as well and neatly loaded them into the car. Payment was a breeze, nearly exactly what they quoted (tax applied), and done in shorter time than I thought. For being very busy, they had one person assigned to my car the entire time. Afterwards, the tech who installed them had others come verify he torqued the lugnuts correctly (I always watch this since Sears once forgot to even finger tighten them on one of our vehicles.) He walked around the car with a computer tool to set each tire pressure monitor and tell it where it was located on the car. This is very important but not all places do that.... He took it around the lot to make sure they were seated well, and pulled it around front for me. What really impressed me was how they treated an older lady next to me. She was in for an oil change, and mentioned an issue that sometimes happens. They checked it out, quite extensively it appeared, and told her exactly what they found, which was just a fluke error and nothing to be concerned about. I have seen too many places willing to throw parts at something that isnt even wrong. I may just be coming back here for all of my tire needs.

3 finger loose lug nuts on one front wheel! I took my car in for a simple replacement of a single tire and had them rotate the tires at the same time. They found a leak in the damaged tire and quoted me a reasonable price to replace it. Tire went on, paid my bill, and headed home. Exactly 48 hours later I noticed an odd sound coming from the wheel they had installed the new tire on. I pulled over, took a look, and noticed the valve stem cap was almost off -- not a big deal. I screwed it on and decided to drive slowly the five miles home and take a look at it in my home shop. At home, I took a tire iron to the first lug nut on the troublesome wheel and noticed it could be taken off with my fingers. I took two more lug nuts off with just my fingers and a fourth came off without even a push on the tire iron. In other words, only one of my lug nuts was actually hanging onto my front wheel -- three werent even finger tight! If that single stud would have snapped, I could have been a goner. As a tire shop, it just seemed like a no-brainer that theyd know/remember to tighten the lugs on my wheels! I found one more lug nut that could be unscrewed with only my fingers on the other front wheel. Even one loose lug nut is unacceptable, but this?! I called the shop and talked to their manager, Mark. He offered that I could take my car in so they could inspect it, both to ensure there wasnt any damage from the loose tire and because they "dont know what would cause that. Maybe theres rust behind your wheel, somethings bent, we dont know." I told him that Id trust myself tightening my wheels more than their shop. In the end Mark admitted they made a mistake, but "What do you want us to do?" I suggested they talk to the tech who worked on my car but that was the best they could do. They also offered the inspection free of charge. I didnt take them up on that. The job I paid them to do actually required me checking all of my lug nuts, jacking up my car, taking off the problem wheel, inspecting it for damage, and putting on the wheel. Mark did offer that I could take my car in and they could make sure all lug nuts were properly torqued. I almost laughed. Bottom line, this shop specializes in selling and installing tires. They really blew it on this one.

I thought Firestone in West Fargo was a good place to buy tires and bring my pickup in for service. Ive been a customer of theirs for almost 5 years now. The first time I began to have issues was when I made an appointment to specifically fix possibly four tires that that had just recently installed. I showed up early and waited for a while. They then told me all four of the valve stems (that they had installed with the tires I bought from them) were leaking but they would only have time to replace one. I accepted this since I didnt have anywhere else to be and I had time to do it the next day. So I made an appointment, requested the same technician, and returned the next day. Twenty minutes after I dropped off my pickup they tell me that the tech I had requested the day before wasnt working. The third time I had issues is when I brought my pickup in to get the brakes bled. They had it for three days and only gravity bled an ABS equipped vehicle. When I brought it home I discovered that they had broken my emergency brake pedal off, broke my shock sensor for my astro start, broke the bracket for the alarm speaker, caved in my speaker grill, and there was paint transfer on my vehicle from someone elses vehicle. I called them about these issues and they denied breaking anything. They also slit my power steering hose so I replaced that myself since I dont think Ill be going back to this place.

Do not go here... Went to fix a coolant leak and one tire that had a slow leak. Brought vehicle in at noon, they said they would have it done by the end of the day. I called in at 5p.m. and they said it would be another 45 minutes, so I got dropped off to wait for it. After getting dropped off, I talked to the manager for a few minutes about the fixes and then he said that it wouldnt be complete until the next day, "hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow"...very poor communication there. They ended up rotating my tires, which is fine, but just a couple of days later I found that the one tire that was previously leaking was low again, they clearly did not fix it, yet charged me for it. I also found that one of the lug nuts on another wheel was very loose and about to fall off... This place can not be trusted to finish a job completely and they assume that you wont notice if they skip a few steps in any process. Also I felt overcharged for the labor involved for my fixes... That is probably why they kept the vehicle overnight, just to get a couple more hours of labor charges. Do not go here.
