If you like being talked down to in a passive-aggressive manner, this is the place for you. A few days ago my battery died. Arranged to get it brought over and they would check it out and call in a couple hours whenever they figured out what the problem was. 3 and a half hours later I call them and they say its still being looked at and will call back in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, I call again and am put on hold for five minutes. At least I got to listen to their hold messages that say they are all about being nice and are so sorry I am on hold. They pick up and say that its the battery and everything else is good except brakes, so I go ahead and get both replaced for $450.00. I come pick it up after work after their hours and its fine. Next morning getting ready for work, car wont start. Shows check engine and battery lights just like it did before. I call them and schedule a tow, but realize no one can be there to meet the truck so I cancel it. The woman working at CB calls back and says its cancelled and they will come the next day at 9am instead. Next day I wait till 10:30 and nothing. Call CB and they say the towers couldnt reach me even though I had no calls and verifies my number. Towers call me and say there is no appointment for today but was one yesterday. So I guess it wasnt cancelled and the 9am was pulled out of thin air? They say it will take 3 hours. Decide to go with my insurances towers instead. Car is brought over and I sit there for 20-30 min. Phil tells me that there was no issue, the gas was just too low. I asked how that would cause a battery light, etc. He says "I have no idea" mutters something, then says "having low gas can cause that sometimes." He goes on to tell me I shouldnt let my gas get low, etc, and says he will be nice and not charge me for the tow and looking at it, even though it was my tow! I pay the $10 for the gas and answer yes when he asks if I want a receipt and Im glad I did. Receipt is from quick trip and says 5 gallons added. I get in car, gas gauge needle exactly where it was when I left it. Clock is reset which would only happen if someone messed with the battery again. So I go to 7-eleven myself, spend $10 there, fill up a third of my tank, and am on my way. Guess they cant admit they missed something and would rather blame you. Most definitely not going back for the tire rotation they also recommended. Hope this long post of many issues helps anyone on the rope about coming here cause of the supposed "4 stars."

After reading some less than flattering reviews I felt I had to weigh in and say that I have never had anything but an outstanding experience at Christian Brothers Automotive in Carrollton. I have my 2005 Honda Accord and 2001 Chevy Silverado serviced there, and I couldnt be happier. The staff are as professional and courteous as they come, and the new owner (although I had no issues with the previous owner) is a true gentleman who genuinely cares about his customers. A few weeks ago, while driving on I-35E on the way home from work in Dallas I heard a loud "bang" under my Accord. It was somewhat startling, and I thought either something fell off or I had run over something that slammed hard against the under carriage. Although it was near 5:00 PM (they close at 6:00 PM), I quickly called them and they said, "Bring in on by and well put it up on a rack and check it out." After the inspection I fully expected to hear that something had either fallen off or had been torn off by an impact with a foreign body. Yet I was delighted to hear, "We checked everything out all under the car, and it all looks fine." Now if they wanted to take advantage of someone just to make a buck, they sure had a perfect opportunity. I wouldnt have been at all surprised if they told me something had been damaged. But they didnt. They told me that all was well with the car, and there was no charge for the visit. The next week I went back to get my rear brakes serviced (and with my mileage that meant a new set of pads and rotors). I felt the quote was more than fair, yet I was happily surprised when they finished the job and told me the total was LESS than the original quote because they got the rotors at a better price than they expected. Now when does THAT ever happen? They also pointed out that they guarantee their work for 2 years or 24,000 miles, and if anything didnt seem just right during that time they would make it right at no extra cost. It sure sounds like they believe in and stand behind the quality of their work. So Im sticking with Christian Brothers, and I would suggest you give them a try as well if youve not yet had a chance to do so.

LADIES, BEWARE. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Ive been getting oil changes here for around 2 years, and never had a complaint. Normally, my husband walks in with me, but on this day, he waited in his car while I dropped off my car. Shortly after that, I got a call from the manager, saying that the oil change was done, but that he had "some concerns" about my car. He proceeded to tell me that my brake fluid, my power steering fluid, AND my transmission fluid were all "burned up" and needed to be changed immediately, or I would risk severe damage to my engine. He went on to say that it would be much cheaper to replace these fluids now, rather than to replace the transmission later. (I have a 2010 Honda Accord, with barely 58,000 miles on it) That didnt pass the smell test for me, so I said no thanks to the offer of over $400 to replace all three of the fluids. My husband agreed it was ridiculous, and said they were attempting to take advantage of me because I was a woman. We took my car over to Chips Auto Repair on Keller Springs to get an HONEST opinion. He checked everything, and said the car was in good repair--nothing needed to be done. Chip has worked on our cars for three years, and we highly recommend him, BTW. We will NEVER go to "Christian" Brothers again. Awful!

Took my 2008 Ford Explorer (100K miles) into Christian Brothers @ Hebron and 121. The engines RPMs were reeving higher than normal when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Testing showed 2 separate PCM codes. They called me and said I need a completely new transmission (Rebuilt $3,000 +). I later went on line and looked up the codes. All websites said that it was only a bad solenoid that needed to be replaced, not a completly new transmission. I called them back up and the service manager says, we don’t do in depth transmission work (i.e. taking apart a transmission to replace the solenoid). So, they just throw the baby out with the bath water ???, meaning they only know how to take out a complete transmission and replace the unit. This would be like needing only a valve job and being told that you need a completely new engine. Christian Brother’s may have good moral values however; they are not a true mechanic repair shop. At the very least, they should have told me that they do not know how to do true transmission work and referred me to a transmission shop. Instead, they would rather quote me $1,000’s of dollars in a repair that could have been done for much less than having to replace an entire transmission.
