On 04/15 I took my car to the AAMCO location at 4922 Everhard Rd in Canton Ohio. I was having problem with the way the transmission shifted. I was waited on by the store manager Adam. He explained that it would take a day or two to diagnose the problem and depending on what they found, a few days to repair. Expectations were that the car would be done by 04/20. Since I was traveling and out of town and hadnt heard from them I called on 04/17 to see what they had found. I was told that they felt the transmission would have to come out for further evaluation. That they needed my permission to proceed. I had already given them my permission, so I gave it to them again. Again, not hearing from the shop I called again on 04/19. I was told that they needed a tube which would not be available till the following day. The following day 0420 I was told that the part did not come in and that it would now be Monday 04/22 before the car would be ready. Being out of town again, and not hearing anything from them I called again on 04/23 and was told, that the car was going back together. Again, not hearing anything I called on 04/25 and was told that the transmission needed a piston. When I question when that was discovered I wasnt given a straight answer. Remember the car was going back together on Tuesday. On Saturday 04/27 I went to the shop to pick up my car. Adam was not in and the Operations Manager, Matt, told me he didnt know anything about it. I was told that the car should be ready on Monday, 04/29. Today is 04/29. Adam says the car is being worked on. Car is not ready. They are now having a seal problem. Again, the transmission rebuild was supposed to have been complete, or so I was told. Ive left repeated message for the owner, Doug Petersen with no response to date. We have no idea if or when we will get out car back. Ive lost complete confidence in this shops ability to repair our car. Id love the opportunity to discuss whats going on, but no one at this location seems remotely interested in resolving the problem or returning my calls.

I have a 03 VW beetle that I was having an issue with the car starting while it it was cold. I had it towed to a local repair shop and they told me it needed a tune up and fuel filter. I had them do it and it didnt fix the issue. After that I got it towed to another location and they told me it needed $2000 worth of work. With it being my families only car I had no choice but to fix it. Two days later it did it again. Neither shop would give me a refund and said theyre not sure what the problem is but they would have to charge a diagnosis fee per hour. A friend of mine referred me to Kane at Aamco transmission in canton. I called him and he said they were confident they could fix it. He also referred me to a tow company that helped me with the price. Kane called me as soon as the vehicle arrived and started promptly. With in the hour he called and said it needed a coolant temp sensor. I approved the repair and he suggested they keep the vehicle over night to ensure that was the problem. I received a call the next morning and my car was starting and running great. And to my surprise the cost was very reasonable. I even called a few other places to see what they would charge for the same repair and some places were almost double. Aamco was the cheapest by far. I strongly recommend this repair shop to everyone. They did such a great job from start to finish. Especially explaining everything to me so I was able to understand. Thanks Kane!!!

These guys are crooks! I had a check engine light on and got a reading from Autozone. I called every where to get a full diagnosis on my car and this place was the only one available. I show up and 30 mins later the guy at the front says I owe him 70 dollars. I asked where the proof was of the diagnosis and he showed me an estimate paper with the exact same thing Autozone told me. So I asked for the actual pin point problem on paper for my knowledge and the rude technician says, "well do you need me to write it down on paper for you?." I say no, I am not paying 70 dollars for a code that was told to me for free. Then I mention that they are trying to rip me off for a report they offer for free and the rude man in front says "ok maam, I am going to make this right for you and not charge you" obviously if they had done a REAL diagnosis on my vehicle, they wouldnt have waived 70 dollars! I left and went to Firestone down the street and the techs there explained to me that these guys are commission and will do anything to get a buck! Absolutely ridiculous. The guys at AAMCO said there was no code showing for EV AP system faliure which was one code from Autozone. Then the techs at Firestone found a vaccum unplugged which caused that code. So again, these jerks at AAMCO are crooks and their customer service skills are total BS! Save your money and go somewhere else.

My truck was not shifting properly so I took it into the Ford dealer in North Canton. They had it all day, ran diagnostics, test drove it, charged me $125 and told me nothing was wrong with it. Just a couple weeks later, I completely lost 4th gear/overdrive. It would accelerate and shift through the first three gears and then act as if it was in neutral. I was not about to return to the same Ford garage, so I took it to this AAMCO shop. They quickly got on it and did a great job of taking one step at a time, with my agreement each time. They were extremely good at communicating with me and keeping me informed of progress and costs. I also was given the opportunity to talk directly to the tech working on my truck and he walked me through the problem, showing me the bad parts and explaining what needed to be done. I felt confident that they really knew what they were doing and cared about their customers, which is not easily found at many places these days. They repaired my transmission, at the agreed upon price and had it back to me a couple days earlier than originally forecast. Having your transmission go out isnt what anyone wants to have happen, but AAMCO made it as painless as possible. I recommend this group to everyone. Pleasure to do business with competent people.

I have always been very hesitant in taking my vehicles anywhere for routine service or repairs. I do my own repairs and maintenance on my vehicles going back to when I first started driving. The transmission in my Maxima was slipping for awhile and this was one job I was not able to do. I visited a few local transmission repair facilities for estimates and found that AAMCO had the most reasonable one. I spoke with Kane and he described to me what the process would be in getting my vehicle back on the road again. He was extremely polite and friendly, answering all my questions I had about this repair. I made an appointment and when I dropped my car off, I was given a ride home by one of the employees which was very helpful to me. The repair was finished 2 days sooner than anticipated and when I picked it up, I had the pleasure of speaking with Kane, Dustin and Bill about the repair. The whole experience was extremely pleasant and certainly put my anxiety to rest about taking my car here. This establishment, in my opinion is a model for how a repair facility should operate from the customers perspective. I will take my vehicles here again without hesitation if the need exists. Thanks for the EXCELLENT all around repair experience.
