To be fair, the rating is based on price and professionalism. Professionalism 4, price 1(2.5 stars if it would let me). I called G & R to fix a leak under my sink, the service call took about 20 - 25 minutes, and I was charged $360.00 .... that was with the "new customer discount" These guys did what they were paid to do, my mistake was not asking about their service charge schedule. This is REALLY expensive for the service provided. I paid, but dont like it. They charge what they charge; $179.00 for the service call and the rest was a "flat rate for that job". I had them go on a day my wife was home, she called me to tell me the price, and because they charge $179.00 to show up .... we were pot invested. A service call charge is designed to protect the contractor from wasting his time on a job that doesnt pay well enough to get him out there, or in case a customer cancels after the contractor arrives. In my experience, the charge for the service call is inclusive of the 1st hour of work, or covers the billed amount up to the price of the service call (something along those lines).

Run as fast as you can from this company. They were called for a leaking toilet. They charged my wife over $250 to "reset" the leaking toilet. It started leaking again within hours. They said their work was guaranteed for 30 days. It was more like 30 seconds. When my wife called them about the toilet still leaking, they said we probably broke it by sitting back on it too hard. The funny thing is we hadnt even used it since they left. So, they grudgingly agreed to come back and they claimed they fixed the leak. Surprise. It started leaking again within hours. We called out a different plumber who pointed out G&R had used a wax seal that was barely hanging on, when instead, it needed a specific part designed for that type toilet. The plumber went to a plumbing supply store, picked up the part, put it in and the leak stopped. Amazing.

G R rerouted the downspouts on my moms house. The work was fine, but they charged her more than double what it was worth. She admits she should have gotten more estimates but G R had come with a good recommendation from a friend. Please get multiple bids before using G R.
