Popped in to just have a gel polish removed. Quoted $10. First the technician put these strange plastic cups over the acetone soaked cotton that didnt press against my nails. She left them on for 15 minutes and while they were soaking talked me into a manicure for an additional $10. Removed weird plastic cups and attempted to remove gel without success. Resoaked cotton. Reapplied. I pointed out that the cotton wasnt making good contact so she removed weird plastic cups and wrapped in foil. 15 more minutes. Still unable to scrape gel off. By this time the owner (I presume) is hovering to see what the problem is and suggests using the electric dremel-like nail thingy to grind the polish off. I cringe a little, but still under the assumption that they are the professionals I let her proceed. She is grinding away so diligently that my nails begin to heat up. "Owww" I say. She states "Did I get your skin??" Um...no. Actually youre creating a lot of heat there chica. At this point she exclaims, "OMG are those your real nails??? I thought they were acrylic!!!" Really...REALLY??? Im getting a little uncomfortable now and I start looking everywhere but at her and begin to notice something. There are absolutely NO state board licenses displayed on the walls that I can see. None. Nada. Zero. Dont EVEN get me started on the piss poor manicure that followed. Fast forward to 1 hour and 25 minutes later, owner checking me out and quotes "$27.90". Wait...what? "She quoted me $20!" Owner looks a little miffed but acquiesces. I leave. My nails are a horrific mess. There are alternating areas of divots and leftover gel that nothing short of growing out will help. STAY. AWAY. FROM. THESE. BUTCHERS!!!!

Unfortunately I was heavily disappointed. I walked in to try the salon based on convenience of location. I figured a simple mani/pedi(no gel,no acrylic, no multiple colors/designs....SIMPLE) would be no problem. The older Asian woman said no problem, got me started soaking my feet....which didnt soak long at all. Entire mani was done in about 10 minutes,start-finish. There was virtually zero massage (even for the basic of basic pedicure). This woman used a drill to sand down the nail closest to the cuticle on my hands and feet (never experienced this prior....as the manual cuticle trimmer had always proved plenty. The biggest issue this caused was once the polish began, you could see the uneven "scratched"/non smooth surface of the nail caused by the drilling. To make matters worse, she painted as if she couldnt color withing the lines. There was lots of polish on my skin!! I had already paid prior to the manicure beginning and tipped my technician as a natural "proper" measure. Another customer came in and now my already subpar mani/pedi had become even more rushed. Afterwards as my nails were drying, the longer I sat, the more upset I became. Other technicians had arrived and I wanted to ask an unoccupied technician take it all off. Instead I asked for polish remover to do it myself, but that technician insisted on taking care of "cleaning" it up best she could..which she did. And in the process asked multiple times which artist did this and had a face of disgust /disbelief. I would NOT recommend this salon for anything given that even the most basic nail service was not a pleasant experience.

I got there at 6:20 pm to get a new set tonight and the lady tells me that they only do basic nails when they are about to close... I wanted pink and white, she said She couldnt help me. Ok so I had 1 hour and 10 minutes left and mind you there was only one person in the chair. Nobody was waiting or nothing and my service was denied. It pisses me off because the one night I got off early, Im refused service . Mind you I just moved to Gahanna and what better nail shop to make my home. I know this may not mean nothing to the company but that has set the image for me. There were no lines, several workers 6:20 and the site said your closed at 7:30, no one could help me, I will find another shop that will gladly take my services. Wether I had 1 hour till closing or 10 minutes , treat your customers right.

I havent had nails done in about 5 years but had decided it was time to start again. I picked this place because its in the same center as where I grocery shop and had noticed it a few times. I walked in and there was an older Asian lady sitting by herself. I told her I was looking for a set of pink & white and she managed to talk me into basic acrylic. She quoted me $30 but since I want white tips it will be $5 more. I thought $35 was definitely high priced for basic acrylic but figured it must have changed in price since it had been so long. Its been 6 days and a few nails had already begun to separate from the nail. So much for the extra cost of basic acrylic, waste of money and time! Over priced, will not return. Beware ! Unless you like basic.

I will not be returning to Beauty at Hand. I am new to the area and decided to give this place a try after finding them on Groupon. I was not impressed with the pedicure at all. I dont think I was even in the chair for a full 45 minutes. She barely did anything to remove the dead skin from my feet. The massage you usually get probably lasted 5 minutes total (not 5 min. each leg). After that I got a gel manicure. This was the worst gel manicure I have ever had! My one thumb nail has bubbles in it. Its not smooth and flat like it should be. The polish on my pointer finger cracked across the middle on day three! In addition to the poor service, the staff was not very kind or personable. I would NOT recommend Beauty at Hand.

NEVER USE THIS SALON! I got a gel manicure that the girl promised would stay on for 2-3 weeks. Not only could I have painted my nails better and in the lines, it all started chipping off 4 days later. Since I was on a business trip and couldnt come in right then, I came back in the first day I arrived back to ask if they could reimburse me or repaint the nails. The lady said no because I didnt come in with in 3 days and tried to blame it on my nails and skin on why they didnt stay (but Ive had gel manicures from other places that have stayed on for 2-3 weeks). This is the worst service Ive ever had at a salon and do not recommend it to anyone. What a rip off.

Hoorible pedicure by this mature woman. She left my nails grease, which made the color on my toenails a horrible application. She didnt removed the extra skin or dead skin. She earns her money failrly easy. She needs to be at the front desk, not doing nails. The place looks like a house. a treadmild, kitchen in back, not clean or pleasent to the view at all. Shoes all over the place. A dog in the facility, the dog was cute, but I am sorry you dont have a pet in a pedicure spa. She has all kind of stuff hunging everywhere. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.
