HI

I have been visiting Rendezvous for some time now so this review is long long overdue. The entire crew is absolutely fabulous. They are attentive, cheerful, professional and so much fun to be around. The salon is gorgeous and has a very happy and glam feel and very clean. I would love to hire them to come over and decorate my house! Now I would like to rave about my stylist Vanessa. She is a true artist and soul builder. The first time I sat down in her chair I was daunted with the decision to change my hairstyle (no style) and go for something bold and outside my comfort zone. All I had to do was briefly explain what I wanted to do and what I could get away with (day job). She gave me her suggestions and I instantly trusted her and let her do her thing. When she was finished I knew I was never going to anyone else again. Vanessa got me off the bottle (of store-bought hair dye) and on the it is ok to pamper yourself and get your hair and nails done wagon. I have never had more oohs and awws about my hair before. Rendezvous needs a bigger door because when I leave I can barely get my head through it. It takes an hour to walk to my car because I stop at every storefront window to check my hair out. I feel like a rock star because of her talents. Vanessa has been an amazing artist and has turned me from frumpy to glamorous. She always offers the best advice and gets my look exactly right each time. She is my stylist, my friend, and my hairs best friend. I absolutely adore Vanessa and the entire Rendezvous crew. I also had my tooth gems put on by Mandi, and she did an awesome job. So sparkly!!! The gems have held up well and I am still grinning like the Cheshire Cat. They are truly confident, caring and amazingly talented people. I really like how they all explain what they are doing and why while they work on hair. They also care very much about teaching their clients how to maintain their look in between appointments. From a conservative cut to the most far out style you can imagine, they can do it. From a trim, to bling, to making dreams come true-they do it. It warms my heart to see all the smiles and "I love you guys" from their clients while I am there. I completely identify with the over the moon reactions and like I said, they need a bigger door. Thank you Vanessa for all you do. You are beautiful and make me feel beautiful._Hillary

After going through the reviews, I was excited to find a place that priced their cuts fairly and not based on gender. I also did some research into doing a haircut on their discounted Thursdays and bit the bullet. I went in and they were nice enough....got my name wrong initially, but I didnt hold it to them. I showed my salonist images of what I wanted and emphasized several times that I wanted my hair to be cut from my asymmetrical bob into a softer pixie with a smooth gradient in the back and NOT be super blunt. Looking at it now, it looks very dice-y in the back. My salonist took an electric razor straight to the bottom, stopped halfway up my head, then tried to even it out. It ended up looking close to how a bowl cut would be for the back of my head. I had to emphasize SEVERAL times over again how I wanted it to be more gradual. Then, they started up with a straight razor and big chunks of my hair started being cut off to try and smooth it out I believe. I shouldve gone with my gut when they started up right away with an electric razor being super close to my head and then proceeded to give me a straight razor cut instead of using shears from the get-go. The last time someone touched my head with a straight-razor the same thing happened where it ended up super piece-y, uneven, and chunky and also stuck up in the wrong places. The cut-out for my ear is pretty mediocre and chunky, and where the hair comes to the front to frame my face is dicey and piece-y and not smooth at all. Though I would consider that past experience with the straight razor one of the worst haircuts Ive ever received, this one is, unfortunately, pretty down there too. I really wanted to like this place because of their philosophy too. I hate to write negatively, but the more I look at my hair the less and less I like it. And I walked out feeling pretty meh about my hair in the first place. Id be more upset if it cost more, but for a newer stylist for half-off Thursdays I shouldve expected this and known better. If youre looking for a very simple cut, like simple side-swept bangs or taking longer hair into a basic, one-length bob or something, Id say go for it. Its pretty hard to mess those up. But, the experience-level definitely shows for cuts that need a bit more finessing. Ill have to wait for my hair to grow out to be able to style it properly again.

Rendezvous has a great combination of edginess and comfort that I havent found at another salon in Columbus. I went in feeling a little intimidated, but everyone in the salon was friendly and easy to chat with. I can go in and get my hair bleached and dyed purple, but have also brought my 4 year old son in for a straightforward haircut. The reason I give three stars instead of five is because of not-so-straightforward pricing. I was drawn to the salon by the amazing prices listed on their website, but in actuality the price ended up being about the same as other places once I was charged for a bunch of things I thought would have been included in the service I was getting. Seriously. Every single little thing has a charge. Dont let a brush touch your hair without asking the price first! I would definitely go back for the awesome service and atmosphere, but Ill have to save up my money first!

Wanted to drop by and compliment the salon and Pinky. I called in on a Thursday and they fit me in (with limited time options on my end) the next day. I had been cutting my own hair for several years leading up to my appointment and needed a cut that would be acceptable for a maid of honor at an upcoming wedding. Pinky not only fixed my errors (in and undershave and bad bangs), created a fun asymmetrical bob that incorporated by undershave, conditioned my dried out hair for no extra charge and recommended my new favorite curl product. Ive spent 10+ years looking for the right curl product to no avail and she helped a sister out big time. I will definitely return as Pinky and the other hair designers are extremely proficient with non-natural hair colors, based on both their own hair and that of other clients I saw. This is the only place Ill go in Cbus from now on.

Ive been going to Rendezvous for several years now. To begin, I must say that I love the "new" location. The reason that Ive stayed a loyal customer for so long is because, not only is my stylist, Dakota, AMAZING, but the salon itself is always so inviting. Being that, Ive been a returning customer, Ive gotten to know a few of the other stylists and they are always so friendly. The music at the salon is always fun. Im not tempted to fall asleep in the chair while my color sits, Its way too colorful. The staff seems as though they get along well, which is important for me to see as a client. Any time I know about someone looking to have something done, I refer them to Rendezvous. There is so much versatility amongst the stylists, youre bound to find something for you.
