You dont have to be in New York or LA to get the best of boutique fitness centers. The Fitness Loft offers everything from steady-state aerobic to HIIT workouts. Machines. Free weights. Classes. Open gym floor. Two large group studios. Licensed professional trainers. A nutritionist. ALCHEMY The ground floor of The Fitness Loft hosts Alchemy, a juice bar and cafe. Owner Alexis is a Registered Dietician who specializes in delicious healthy eats, many of which are vegetarian (acai bowls; quinoa, kale, almond, brussel sprout salads; sandwiches; fresh smoothies), as well as fresh, cold-pressed juices and an expresso bar. THE ENVIRONMENT The first thing you notice when you walk upstairs to the first floor of The Loft are the 2-story ceiling and walls of floor-to-celing windows. The light and expanse give you an automatic psychological lift. The air is fresh. Machines have been placed with sufficient distance, so that you never feel right on top of the person who may be running, cycling, or skiing next to you. There are two HUGE third-floor studios, well stocked (weights, balls, equipment) for fitness classes and RPM. Lockers are programmable. Showers are private and spacious. Bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, the workout floor are spotlessly clean. THE EQUIPMENT The owners - The Jeffs May (Jr and Sr) - have made a huge investment in Technogyms state-of-the-art equpment. Aerobic machines can be found at the windows, with a view, and in more private locations on the third floor. The Wellness System technology is compatible with FitBit, MapMyFitness and FitnessPal. Aerobic equipment is completely programmable and cloud based, allowing you to plug into your own auditory and visual worlds. Each member can purchase a cloud-based fitness fob, which automatically tracks your goals and the performance of each session, for those who are seriously training or those who simply dont want to maintain written records. THE FITNESS CULTURE The Mays have invested (with a long-term view) in the quality and number of on-site trainers. Individual expertise ranges from working with those who are true athletes-in-training to lower-intensity fitness clients. Each new member is offered a professional baseline fitness assessment, which includes aerobic and flexibility capacity, basic lipid bloodwork . All of this can be uploaded to the fob, along with your trainer-recommended program. THE SOCIAL CULTURE Members are very polite and stick pretty much to themselves. Present are a range from young, fit and beautiful to retired, not-so-fit, but dedicated to longevity and a healthy future. Those who work up the sweat of significant exertion always wipe down their equipment with disinfectant towlets from numerous dispensers throughout the gym. On-site trainers are always training new members. Trainers who are not working with a client are friendly and make themselves available to help or answer questions. CLASSES Cycling. RPM. Pilates. Yoga. PiYo. Body pump. Boot camp. Synergy. Insanity. Beginning weight training. Running club. You get the idea: A wide range, with an appropriate level and intensity for everyone. ACCESSIBILITY The Fitness Loft, located on the second and third floors, is accessible by elevator and stairs.

Ive been a member of this gym for about five months now and I am very pleased. This place is spacious, offers lots of cardio machines, free weights and classes if you need structured fitness. I seldom take a class so I cannot comment on the quality of instruction. Im usually there four times a week and the place is always immaculate! Other members also take care of the place and clean the equipment and keep the locker room in decent shape. The crowd tends to be mostly mid 20s to 30s on average but most should feel comfortable working out here, I do. The staff is friendly, most members keep to themselves but are courteous. The membership price may seem steep to some, however, one should consider that it is a month-to-month deal, no contracts. The hours should work for most people. Overall, I would recommend this place, friendly staff, modern equipment and plenty of eye candy.

Decent gym floor. Weights. TRX. Several treadmills. But a little too "new" and fancy for my liking. Poor locker room. No water pressure for showers. Small and cramped. The sauna isnt even as warm as a hot yoga room and should just be turned into a closet. Its useless. I asked management about these things and just got the runaround with no clear answers on weather they would change or not. So I got tired of waiting and stopped going. I also had my wedding band stolen here. I left it in a locker (my bad) and it was never turned by whoever found it. I found a new gym I like a lot better and even though I signed a cancellation 3 weeks ago, I still just got charged another $110 a couple days ago because they require 30 days notice. Gimme a break. They charge you a starting fee and then an ending fee. This place sucks.

Its like someone took my minds perfect gym and made it a reality. Members take just as good care and cleanliness of the machines as the staff. Friendly, goal-oriented, and positive staff. For those that find gyms and equipment to be intimidating, I think youll find it quite simple with plenty of people there to help you achieve your body-health goals. The TechnoGym equipment allows you to track your workouts and see your the results of your hard work, motivating you to push even further! Start and finish your workout with some time in their infrared sauna, and youll leave feeling refreshed. And anyone that crinkles their nose at the thought of a gym shower clearly hasnt been in The Fitness Lofts locker rooms! So far, I cannot find something I dont like about my gym. I wish I had joined sooner. See you there!

I love this gym! The equipment works with a smart phone app that tracks your progress and the treadmills and cardio machines have amazing touch screens where you can sign into your Netflix account so you can "Netflix and cardio". My favorite part is getting to stop at Alchemy after the workout which has a ton of healthy food options to choose from. *My one complaint is the gym hours!* I signed up to do a trail of the gym and quickly realized how limited the hours of operation are. Im not a morning gym person and prefer to go mid day or at night. If they ever extend their hours at night just by 1 or 2 hours I would be hooked!

Used to be an absolute gem of a gym. Now its overcrowded. At times, you need to double check before a rep so you dont hit anyone nearby. Good luck finding a parking spot in their tiny lot, as they will not guarantee that you wont get towed when parking at the neighboring CVS. Street parking is available a few blocks away, though. So if you want to use this gym at a convenient time, too bad. Save your money and just get LA Fitness. Its the same experience. Pros: Clean

I only got to visit TFL for a day but I had a great experience and workout. Excellent variety of cardio and lifting equipment, plenty of space specifically for stretching (which a lot of gyms do not think about), tons of options for class and class hours and a friendly staff as well. Bonus: Alchemy!!!!! The gym was simply out of my budget, but if you can afford it, definitely go!

Love the staff and joined for the many classes offered. Downside is the best classes are booked almost immediately as they become available and they have neglected to add more evening time slots. Some days there are no classes offers past 6pm and on weekends there are no classes past noon...people sleep in on the weekends and people work til 6pm some days.
