I have two kids and have taken them to Cookie Cutters (formerly Snip, Buzz, Bangs) in Pickerington for haircuts since they were old enough to have haircuts, but just had an experience that made me decide never to go there again. My son, age two, was there just today for a haircut at 1:00. The stylist was alone, but agreed to cut his hair. My son hates haircuts, and screams through them. Normally the stylists there are very accommodating. This time, however, the stylist stopped cutting his hair twice to answer the phone. My son screamed throughout the interruptions. The final straw, however, was when a customer walked in and the stylist stopped to help this customer. My sons haircut was almost finished, and all she had to do was tell the customer she would be a minute. I objected, and she then finished the haircut. The stylist then argued with me about the fact that this is what she had been told to do. When I went to pay, she went in the back and came out saying an Assistant Manager would assist me. I waited briefly, then asked how much the haircut cost. I put the $15.00 on the counter and started walking out. The aggressive hairstylist then proceeded to inform me she was acting the way the manager required, and if she didnt do those things she would be in trouble. I told her, "Then your manager just lost a customer." Never again will I go back. They dont take care of the customer in front of them that they agreed to serve, they pay more attention to the phone and others who walk in the door. In my book, thats not customer service.

Ive taken my child to this location 3 times because he enjoys playing on the tree. He has had 3 different stylists. The first time, the lady chopped his ears up. He had painful cuts behind both ears. He is 5. He does not squirm a bit, he likes haircuts. The second time, his bangs were cut straight across like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. The third time, the lady acted as if my scheduled appointment was burden to her because she hadnt had a lunch break. She had no help in the front and we were the only customers. I even offered to go next door for ice cream while she ate lunch and she rolled her eyes dramatically. His haircut was again terrible, rushed and uneven. You would think sonce its a childs shop, they would speak to your child. I have yet to see someone take any time to try to make my child feel comfortable. They snap their fingers like he is a dog infront of his face and say "Up!".. I will never go back to this location again. I skipped our last appointment and learned to cut his hair myself. It may take longer but the results are better and I dont have to deal with their poor attitudes and less than satisfactory hair cuts.

Ive taken my son here since his first haircut; hes now almost five. Its a cute place and weve had mostly good experiences. But be warned: It gets busy and theres a fair amount of turnover among stylists, so its often the luck of the draw in terms of which stylist is available. The last time we went, we gave the stylist specific instructions NOT to give him a regular little boy cut - he has beautiful blond curls that we like to leave a little long and surfer-ish. But she blatantly disregarded our request, and even though we were standing there politely objecting and reiterating our desire, she completely sheared his hair down to nothing. It was close-cropped to his head. He cried, I cried, his grandmother cried (after we got home, of course), his teachers nearly cried! It was that drastic. She was unapologetic after we pointed out how different it was from our instructions. She literally ignored us, and we were being calm and reasonable. I dont know how to avoid this in the future but am likely to go back - and avoid this particular stylist.

I just want to thank the Pickerington location for being so awful that I have taught myself to cut my own childrens hair. I thought I posted a review several months ago when we went but I guess I didnt. The "stylist" was rushed even though we had an appointment for which we were early. She did not listen and cut off all of my sons hair while complaining that it was long and that we should get haircuts more often so he wouldnt be afraid. His hair is long ON PURPOSE! Some boys are allowed to have long hair and why this seems like such a crazy concept to you is beyond me. I paid way too much for a haircut that was choppy and not what I asked for, expecting a facility where the employees know how to deal with ALL children, yes even the "difficult" ones, but that is not at all what we experienced. Oh and if you want to get an adult haircut to ease your childs nerves prepare for a childs haircut on a grown head. Awful all around. Hey Cookie Cutters, cant handle a scared child? SAY THAT INSTEAD OF JACK UP A CHILDS HAIRCUT!

We went here for our sons first haircut because its a novelty and they sell First Haircut certificates. By no means take your child here on a regular basis. We took him two other times and have decided to go somewhere else (great clips). The staff at this store is not friendly and does not appreciate business. There is not an inviting feel to this place and it almost seems like a bother to them. I want businesses that have good people to prosper in our communities and around the country. If youre not people will find out. So... Should you go here? The TVs are cool but the haircut experience is what our son enjoys. He loves going to the girls at Great Clips in Reynoldsburg. They are extremely nice and he loves getting his hair cut and a sucker. He cried at Cookie Cutters and not once at Great Clips, hes 3 now. You be the judge.

I took my oldest there a few times (maybe three) and not once did we walk out with what I had asked for, so I stopped going. Fast forward about four years later and I took the chance and took my daughter there for her first hair cut, thinking it was the only kids place I knew of and maybe they trained their staff better or hired better. I should have known. Her bangs were uneven, it was a good deal shorter than I had asked, and they didnt bother attempting to brush any hair off. Ive learned my lesson and wont give it another shot. And, as a side note, they donate to Locks of Love, an organization I refuse to support. They should really donate to a better place that doesnt charge sick kids for their wigs.

My son and I have recently vistited the Pickerington location. The lady who cut my sons hair left patches of long hair. She also tried texture the scissors cut lines out of his hair. The sides were blended poorly. As I pointed thing out to emplyee that were obvious, it bcame clear she had little or no exsperience. Paying the $15 for a childs hair cut i would exspect my son to have a nice hair cut. This was not the case. I took my son elsewhere to have his hair fixed. I will never go back. The lady at the frount desk can also be rude when she ask for a tip for the stylist. Not happy. Thanks to the ladys at Sports Clips they were able to fix my sons haircut big thanks to them!
