More Honest than Milwaukie Tire and Auto! I didnt even know 1st Choice did alignments and wheel balancing until I saw their ad. I had taken my car to Milwaukie Tire and Auto a couple months ago for some new tires. They did a good job with that, but then they checked my alignment, showed me some numbers I didnt really understand, and tried to talk me into a 4-wheel alignment with shims installed that was going to cost me more than $350! I wasnt knowledgeable enough to know if I needed it or not, but here were these supposed experts telling me I did. I got kind of nervous because I was only planning to spend less than $200 for the tires. I almost went for it; they were persuasive, but I wasnt sure if my credit card could handle it, so I finally decided to wait. Well, Im glad I did! So after that, I took it to Olson Brothers Tires, and they gave me a $60 front-end alignment, which I needed. The steering wheel was cocked to the left before that alignment, but afterwards it was straight on. They did a good job on the alignment, but they didnt take the time to check out the wheels. I mostly do around town driving, so it took me a while before I got it up to 65mph, and then I noticed my right front tire was vibrating. It wasnt terrible, but I just had an alignment, and I wanted it to be right. So finally I took it to 1st Choice Auto, where I had been before for engine work, and they gave me the straight story! Yes, it was true that my alignment was not totally perfect, but it did not justify the expense of installing 4 shim kits like Milwaukie Tire wanted to do. I had wondered about that because I did not notice ANY unusual wear on my tires, front or back. They also told me that misalignment was not what was causing the vibration at 65mph; that was from tires being out of balance. So they checked my tires (not the ones installed by Milwaukie Tire - those were OK, but they put them on the back and rotated my older, but still good rear tires to the front), and indeed, both of those tires were out of balance. So they fixed that, but it didnt cost me an arm and a leg! It was just a minor expense. Now my car drives great! My repeated experience with 1st Choice Auto is that they tell you how it really is and fix what you really need, not just whats going to make them money. You dont find that everywhere, as my personal experience shows. I am sure thankful to them for being honest mechanics. They fixed my car right and saved me a lot of money!

I drive older cars, and Ive had First Choice work on all of them for at least the last 5 years. From minor repairs and oil changes to fairly major engine work, theyve always done right by me. Case in point: Several years ago, I brought in our aging Chevy Astro for a long-overdue injector cleaning. Toward the middle of the day, I got a call from the service manager, John, that there was a problem. It turned out that in the cleaning process, some solvent got trapped in one of the cylinders, which forced them to remove a cylinder head and replace an injector to correct. They replaced everything, and did not charge me a dime extra. I know your reaction might be "thats only honest and fair," and youd be right; but the point is, they called to tell me exactly what occurred, what they were going to do to fix it, and when my car would be ready. Also, this car had well over 120,000 miles on it at the time. They could have called me to tell me that the injectors were all bad, and extensive repairs were needed, and I would have believed them. These guys try hard to satisfy their customers, and because of that, Im a loyal fan. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Went here after having my heater core going out. They offered me the cheapest quote around and a 1 year warranty. Was out the door the next day with a new installed aftermarket napa core. 6 months later it goes out again where I take it back to the shop, no questions asked. Does it again 4 months later, same thing, back to the shop. Shocker, heater core goes out a 3rd time under their care past the 1 year warranty. I take it back again where they told me that even though its past the warranty, they would stand behind their work and repair it again for free. They said they tested for electrolysis, but the test came up negative. They offered to put in a OEM core rather than the Napa aftermarket this time which there was no argument from me (dont use Napa aftermarket heater cores, use OEM!). Even though Id rather have it done the first time and had it repaired 3 different times, they stood behind their work and made it right.

1st Choice Auto Service is now my first choice for oil changes, light maintenance, and/or repairs to my car. They have a flexible schedule in order for me to come in on a Saturday to get my oil changed, and they easily understand my needs, are helpful, and efficient. They have me in and out for my oil changes, which is very convenient, and with their coupons/promotions, they are very competitive with their prices. I was originally referred to 1st Choice Auto Service by Knechts and I appreciate the referral very much. They are a good team and make each customer feel valued! I highly recommend them for any of your auto service needs!

I have been in three different times witha Jeep Liberty and my Dodge Ram (Diesel) and they have done excellent or better service for me. Better than any other Garage that I have been to. My last trip in to 1St choice was too repair my A/C on the truck. They got right on it and was done before suggested time and a reasonable price. Enjoyed the service and will be back for more. I suggest this place to everyone that want a job done and done right at reasonable price. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !

This month I had the good fortune of meeting Nick Thielke & Scott Lawson. For much too long, I have been trying to find the answer to a noise coming from the front of my Ford Ranger. After some testing & exploring, Scott soon found the problem (tie rods) and fixed it. Now "1st Choice" is quickly becoming my first choice. Clint.

I have been taking my car to 1st Choice Auto Service since it was new. It now has 120,000 miles and has never had a major problem. I credit this to the great service that 1st Choice has been doing on my car all this time. I can not even come close to figuring out how much they have saved me over the time Ive had this car..

I asked for all four brakes to be replaced, which he could have done and charged me for. But he found the rear brakes had lots of life left, so he did LESS than quoted. Entire job (front only) was also $10 less than quoted. Thanks!
