So... Im standing in my driveway waiting for the mailman because Im expecting an important package, I see him drive up so I stand back and wait for him to leave so I can retrieve my package. I look over at him...he looks at me and finally leaves. I open the box and find a "sorry we missed you" form on top of my regular mail! He didnt move a muscle or make any attempt to deliver my package, I had to run down the street in my slippers to catch him! This is the fourth time in less than a year this has happened. I complained in person to the manager about this in the past but they have a new lazy carrier apparently. The reason they do this kind of stuff is because they can...no accountability! They just keep raising rates, pensions and salaries as we get less and less for more and more! If private industry were run like the USPS...the county would be bankrupt and in ruin within weeks. I dont know if its this particular post office thats messed up or the whole system! I cant tell you how many problems Ive had! Calling them?...they dont answer the phone! I for one will never send anything USPS if I can absolutely help it! UPS and Fedex have problems but at least they have some accountability. I wonder how long it will be before they raise the price of stamps again?

Sadly, this is my local post office. I gave it a year before writing this review, but they were off to a bad start and it never got better. I was out of the country for the whole month of December, 2014. I went in in person and filled out the form to hold my mail. As I got back into town I stopped there to get my mail and was told they werent holding any. I was concerned because I get Christmas cards during that month. When I got home I discovered that they had crammed every bit of mail that came that month into my tiny locked mailbox (I live in an apartment). Who knows if I even got it all. Since then I have one bad experience there after another, and just last week I was told my package was going to cost more than it should have. I weigh everything and it was a first class package. The woman who waited on my gave me an improper weight that would have cost me a few dollars more than it should have. I knew it was wrong so I took it to another post office and it went through as first class. Adding a few ounces isnt benefitting me, but its benefitting someone. The lines are always long, the do-it-yourself kiosk is frequently down, and the staff seem grumpy. I would too if I had to work there.

I just came across this "Rate & Review" and realized that Im not alone in careless and mean-spirited acts from this PO in this area. Yes I have experienced some truly ridiculous incidents at my "keyed mailbox", such as pkgs. wedged in there beyond "common sense". I sense that these routine careless and idiotic transgressions may (?) have something to do with the socio-economic residents in our area. There is (or was) this Asian woman that works the counter at the PO on River Ave. She used to give me obvious looks of disdain. Shed be rude, and on one occasion when I was sending about 5-7 priority letters to the same address (OSBN) she attempted to over-charge me by charging me for each individual letter even though they were all in the same packaging envelope. I knew this wasnt right and fortunately the woman working at the next window noticed and quickly interceded and requsted I complete my transaction at her window. The difference in $$ would have been approx. $12.00 instead of approx. $40.00+ with this dishonest woman. I mention her etnicity as being Asian in the hopes she will be identifiable to others (including her co-workers). SHAMEFUL ! ! !

To begin Ive had many problems with getting my neighbors mail and I dont know where mine has gone?? I started having problems with getting my mail box broken into, so I bought a lock mail box and they broke into that also. Turns out all my neighbors our having the same problem, so why dont they install the big locking mail boxes like most streets since there is a problem? Well I figured it out since I went down to the post office to get a PO Box...thats where they make their money!! Plus I needed more pieces of ID to get a PO box than to cash a check??!! Weird?! Also Every time I go into that branch there is only one person working and 25 people in line...its no wonder the postal service is going under!! Even when Ive tried to speak with a manager they take their sweet time hoping you will run out of time and have to head back to work...nice trick! Ya got me!

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Im 43 years old and this is absolutely the most INCOMPETENT post Office and Post Delivery people I have ever experienced, by a long shot. Just know that if you live in this area and this is your post office, you are screwed. Packages dont show up, you get other peoples mail all the time, half my mail doesnt even get to me. I have mail that is sent to me from Amazon, the tracking says it is out for delivery, I will literally watch the Postman pull up in the truck to our mailboxes and drive off, I immediately go outside and voila, nothing in my mailbox even though the tracking shows it as delivered. Either I have the dumbest god damn post person in the World or they are flat out stealing from me.. Something needs done about this and I have a feeling this goes all the way to the top here.

Terrible service. They hire clerks that dont speak English well and the clerks get mad when you cant understand them. They lost my check to the State of Oregon that I sent to pay my income tax. The tax office, a five minute drive from the post office didnt get the check so I cancelled the check (which they delivered the day that I paid with another check) so I lost $25.00 in a check cancelling fee. The tax board sent me back the money that I paid on the second check and tried to cash the first check. So, I had to pay extra tax due to interest and penalties. What a mess. I closed my PO Box at this location because of the ineptness of this post office and moved to a box downtown. The frustration of traffic and the longer drive are far more preferable than dealing with the morons that work at the River Avenue post office.

Where do I start??? My NORMAL mailman is fabulous love him he is just awesome!!!! BUT....When the sub is on OMG they do not deliver my packages leave a slip in the box saying I wasnt home yet I WORK from home and have 2 dogs that bark when a squirrel farts or someone walks by so he lies and just plain LAZY. I get about 4-8 packages a week and it is a CONSTANT thing. NOT TO MENTION how some packages look like they were used for football practice. Its horrible and the customer service when I go in to the Post Office are rude, dont care and ALWAYS SLOWER then a snail. This Post office and the area they serve really needs to have a make over because I am at my whits end and am planning on using others services for my shipping/mailing needs. Not worth the hassle from these stooges!
