My heat pump was not able to produce hot air. I called FS and a technician came out and diagnosed as needing a new compressor (the unit was 10 yrs old). Ed (owner) then came and looked at the existing system and we were able to discuss options. Ed was patient and willing to listen and carefully answer all my questions. I signed an agreement for two different heat pump options (I called back the next morning to confirm which I wanted). Because of the system I chose, Ed needed to return to take measurements and have me sign paperwork for credits. During that visit, Ed said he missed that the option I chose would not work with my existing fan and I would need a new one. Ed said that he would honor the price quoted on the original agreement, i.e., he would eat the cost of installing a new fan along with the heat pump. I REALLY appreciated that customer service! But theres more :-) The installing technicians (Stephen and Jeremy) came out a couple of days later and spent all day removing the old system and installing the new one. During the testing process, they found the electric (backup) heater was overheating. They discovered that ~50% of the floor vents were closed! (More than likely, this is what caused the early demise of the original heat pumps compressor.) After opening the vents they continued to work on tuning the system before running the heat pump. During this process they noted that the return pressure was too high. They mentioned they would need to return to try some measures to reduce the pressure. Late in the day, when they did turn on the heat pump, it didnt heat up. They were pretty sure that the refrigerant charge that the factory put into the unit leaked out at some point in the shipping process. Being late in the day, another tech was scheduled to come out a couple of days later. I talked at length with Stephen who clearly explained the situation and how they were handling things. The follow-up tech (Kyle) began by removing the refrigerant that was in the system and then confirmed that the system was sealed by pressuring it with nitrogen. Finally, he recharged the system with the refrigerant and it ran as expected. The original install technician (Stephen) returned with a co-worker (Mike) to work on reducing the high return pressure. They first installed a larger duct in the attic for the upstairs return vent. Unfortunately, this work provide only a very small improvement. They then worked with the downstairs return but didnt see any affect on the pressure. In the end, they noted that the duct sizing just before the returning to the fan was the issue. (And this could only be "fixed" by doing some major remodeling :-P ) In the end, while they wanted to attain the desired pressure using a high-efficiency filter, they WERE able to meet the spec with a standard air filter. While the process did take a while, I was VERY happy with the customer service. In addition to the great technicians, when I called the office to setup appointments or get clarification, the phone was always answered by a person. If I did need to wait, it was < 30s. I also used the contact form on the website to initiate the entire process and to schedule a follow-up appointment. All the personnel that I interacted with seemed knowledgeable and clearly explained the work they were doing.

This is an amazing company!!! I am so glad to choose this company to install a new Coleman furnace for my house. They went way above and beyond to fix a major issue that was the fault of another company. The installation team stayed almost 12 hrs and did a fantastic job. I was pretty much speechless when Steve, the lead installation technician told me that Chris, one of the owners wanted them to fix the issue for me free of charge even though I was willing to pay. This really tells everything you need to know how this company treat their customers. I have met Chris and 5 of his employees during the course of replacing my old furnace. All the 5 employees were very friendly and knowledgable. I had conversations with Steve, the lead installation technician, Adam, and another Steve who came to do the diagnosis of the old furnace. I could tell they were all genuinely happy working for this company. They told me the owners treat them like family and always want them to do what is best for their customers. Steve and Adam stayed till 8:30pm to complete the testing of the new furnace and make sure everything was working properly. It was Friday evening and they still had a big smile on their face after such a long day of work. This great company has great employees! In case you want to know the major issue they fixed for me, here are some details. Steve and Rick came to my house around 9am to install the new furnace. When they took out the old furnace, they found out that the AC cooling coil below the furnace was not installed properly. The coil was placed very low, not only creating too much back pressure but also blocking more than two thirds of the air flow especially to the upstairs. I was shocked to know that because the AC system was just installed last summer by another company. But it explains perfectly why I did not get too much cooling upstairs in the summer time. It was a major task to fix the issue. First, they had to uninstall the cooling coil and raise it to almost one foot to maximize the air flow for both heating and AC. As a result, the furnace will be also sitting higher, which requires to resize the metal hood connecting to the furnace for the incoming air. They could easily blame the AC company for not doing the proper installation and charge me for the fix. But they did not take advantage of the situation. I could not say enough good things about this company and their employees.

I have used Four Season Heating & Air Conditioning for repairs and/or replacements of heat pumps and furnaces on all three of my rentals, and they have done a stellar job with each install or repair. I trust them so much that I have also had them replace my aging AC unit at my own house as well as upgrade the furnace. I cant say enough positive things about the way Ed Hahn runs his business. He stands fully behind each unit he sells, working with me to get what I need with the budget that I have. He takes considerable time to answer all my questions (and I have a *LOT* of them). The office staff (including Diane, Linda & Deborah) are excellent at handling my questions, filing paperwork and rebates on my behalf, and at working me into their installation schedule as quickly as possible, especially during emergency times for my tenants (no heat situations). The "A Team" (as I call them) of Travis, Chris & Stephen are excellent field technicians. They really know what theyre doing, answer all my questions and address my concerns with sincerity & professionalism, often pointing out things I was unaware of (like a rodent problem in a crawlspace). They are clean & thorough, leaving behind no mess & being respectful of my property, and are careful workers, not willing to sacrifice quality workmanship to meet a time schedule. The true measure of a persons reputation comes when he has to deal with difficult situations. On the one occasion where we had a board fail on a newly installed unit, Ed Hahn & Team were right back to my house to replace it in short order. Four Seasons is a locally-owned business that stands behind the word and their work. I highly recommend them. --R.M.Cook, Beaverton, OR
